After 30 years of beach vacations in S Carolina we did a family reunion in a place very different. The house location, facility, especially the two-tier boat jetty and deck, assured forgetfulness of sand and sea. A wonderful time was had by all generations. Communications with Krista our host were excellent. There have already been some conversations by some about a return some time. Grateful for a very successful week.

The house is in a great setting and was as advertised. Great house for a family reunion. Was disappointed with the some repairs that were needed and having to have service people in a few times during the stay. Once repaired it was fine.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and just as described. Our large extended family, ranging in age from 3-80, had a great time being together. The owner made sure everything was ok and the property manager ensured everything was in working order. Nephews wanted the Xbox fixed and she sent someone to fix it even though the parents said it wasn’t necessary. I highly recommend this property.

A perfect getaway! no complaints but the steps were very steep. enjoyed especially the kayaks. Great plus. hope to return again next year.

This was the perfect 'home away from home' setting for family members coming from several states around the country. Two kitchens stocked with every cooking and baking tool possibly needed, plenty of seating space to eat together, and a great layout to have adequate quiet time or family time.

This house was perfect for our large family. We have rented many other houses in the past and this one ranks at the top. We are already talking about renting it again!

Beautiful lake and forested areas, nice hikes in nearby state parks. Nearby marina is convenient for pontoon boat rentals, and the house is maybe 1,000 feet from the "jumping bridge". We appreciated the two kayaks, the boathouse with slide, the hot tub, the kitchen amenities, and the mild breezes along the lake at most times. And the internet signal was better than we expected. The two kitchens were nice and were able to fit everyone at the upper level island and dining table for dinner each day. Bedrooms were good sizes and reasonably well furnished. That said, the lake is quite narrow by the house and we had to be on the lookout with motorboats and jet skis coming by every minute or two all day (plus once at 3 a.m. with music blaring). We hadn't realized, until we got there, that there were other properties on either side with no yards on any sides - was certainly not clear from the listing - but there was room to set up our cornhole boards in the parking area. The wasps on the balconies caused us to shut the doors quickly and we still got a few stings. The community pool is very small, not really much of an alternative to the lake, and the water in it was green. Morning hikes through the neighborhood were a serious workout due to steepness of the roads - quite challenging and gave a feeling of accomplishment. It took a day nor two to get used to the house's stairs, both interior and exterior, as they are very steep - use the railings. As for nearby La Follette, there's not much happening. But it was our annual family vacation and it was great to all be together - really no need to be entertained by anything beyond the landscape and each other.

The booking process was very easy and user friendly. The property itself is one of our favorites on Norris Lake. The location is great and it is a "Great Escape" from the realities of life.

Having visited Norris Lake once before, we had an idea of what we were looking for on our next trip. This house fit the bill for 23 family members to enjoy the sun and lake for a week. Lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, and the kitchens were very well appointed with all that you need. The dock with the raised deck was great fun for all. Boating is a short troll in the no wake zone out to the main lake. We are looking forward to booking again!

Great property that is easy to find. Lot of windy roads to get to property. Did not see Property Manager but no issues. Owners very responsive to questions. Very clean!!

We had such a great time staying at this property! We used it for a weekend getaway for 4 couples. The property is lovely with beautiful decks and a ton of space. We only had 8 people so we were able to spread out on different floors. The place was clean, there were great amenities, and the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils which made it easy to make all of our meals. Both the Owners and the property manager were extremely kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

This is our second year at this property and I will say it remains one of the best!

Property is nice and well maintained, owners were responsive. Location is great as it is one of the closer houses to the bridge in lakeside estates and has decently easy parking.

Four families convened to this house to break quarantine and have an amazing summer vacation. Spectacular location, on lake with great views, kids never tired of slide, kayaks kept adults entertained. Highly recommend

I can't say enough good things about this rental. The house is perfect for all sizes of groups. Having the private dock with water slide, deck, and access to two kayaks made for an easy adventure on the water. The location close to the nearby marina made jet ski and boat rentals super easy, too. The owner and house manager were excellent and any inquiries were immediately responded to. The house was also extremely well stocked with kitchen needs, games, DVDs, etc. Nothing was overlooked. Would definitely stay here again!

The 2 kitchens and plenty of cookware including a griddle was great for large parties. Place was very clean. A paddle was missing for the the kayaks but everything else seemed to be in order.

The Great Escape is the perfect place for large families and groups. It's quiet, but close to all of the action. We will definitely be back!

We had a party of 18, 11 of them being children. We had plenty of room to hang out and sleep. The dock was beautiful both morning and daytime and the kayak usage was greatly appreciated. The kitchens are stocked and well equipped to fix any meal. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone with a large party.

We had an amazing experience during our stay at the Great Escape! The house was very clean and well supplied. We appreciated the little extras like boxes of tissues and hand soap provided. On-site management was very friendly and responsive when we accidentally locked ourselves out of one of the bathrooms! Overall a wonderful experience. I would recommend this property to anyone and would love to come stay again!

We've stayed at several locations in Lakeside Estates and this one was hands-down the favorite! We plan on returning next year.

Great time! This place is amazing! Easy access off I75. Plenty of room for 20+ people. The water was clean. We rented a boat from Oasis and that was perfect as well. There are a lot of stairs, but that kept us from overeating!!! I would most definitely come back again!!!

This is the 7th year that my extended family (ages ranging from 0-93, including Great grandparents and great-grandkids, 22 people in all) have come to Lakeside Estates on Norris Lake for vacation. The whole family loves this annual trip. This year was our first year at Great Escape, and we were very excited to be so close to the main lake and still felt very safe having the kids swimming off of the dock all day long. We liked the property so much that we've already booked it again for next year. The only small issue, that actually didn't end up being a problem for us in the end (obviously since we re-booked!), is the location and availability of bathrooms. The top floor bathroom that everyone uses during the day is the same full bath used between two of the bedrooms on that floor. And the bottom floor has 3 bedrooms (sleeping up to 12 people) but only one bathroom. This just meant the couples/families sharing those two bathrooms had to be a bit more flexible about bathroom use. While we were a bit concerned about it before the stay, it never actually ended up being a problem for us. Overall impression: the owners are very responsive, the place is very nicely set up, and the place has plenty of room for large groups to gather for a vacation and not feel over-crowded. I highly recommend it.

The property and conditions were excellent, there were a lot of steps and in the sun they get very hot along with the top of the dock. Need to wear your shoes! The Kayaks were great and I am glad we rented a pontoon boat! We enjoyed our neighbors as well!

Easy to rent, fantastic communication. Arrived day following LaFolette flooding and mudslides and Krista contacted us early on the arrival day to keep us up to date. Great space for our 3 kids and 4 grandkids. Very welcoming, well stocked, safe, enough parking. First time we could actually use the outside porches and not be rained on or eaten by bugs! Neighbors somewhat close, and Never heard their outside noise. Boat was delivered and picked up by Oasis, highly recommend them as well!! No issues on anything, oh yes we were told the hot tub cover was broken and it was fixed during stay, first time we had a hot tub, and it was wonderful! Grandkids LOVED the slide!! Wonderful home, definitely recommend to all. Thank you for helping our family continue to make family memories!

We wanted to try something different for our annual vacation stay, we decided to rent a cabin in Tennessee. The cabin was equipped with everything, we had three levels, including a dock with a slide, and canoes. The adults had a fun and relaxing time, the teenagers had plenty of room to sleep and move around inside of the cabin, we all rented jet skis from Sugar Hallow, and a boat. All I can say is we had Fun, we relaxed, and it was very adventurous. I will recommend this cabin to anyone in need of a cabin while visiting LaFollette, TN. The house manager Kim is a very pleasant and nice young lady, and Krista kept in contact with me the whole stay, just to make sure everything was going well.

This home was beautiful. I really appreciate the Christmas tree that was put up for us. Since this is our family Thanksgiving/Christmas gathering is was perfect. There was more than enough room for all of us. The presence of 2 refrigerators and 2 ovens was wonderful. We brought a lot of supplies because we have had to go purchase these in the past. These kitchens were both wonderfully stocked and there were plenty of towels. The only thing we had to go buy was a meat thermometer which we left for the next guests. I would gladly recommend this location to anyone but especially to those who have large families like we do.
