My husband and I were looking for a scenic spot to unwind for a few days, and found it at the Spence's cottage at Bob's Lake. The cottage was very comfortable and has a great backyard with lake views/access with lots of seating areas. Canoeing on the lake was also a big plus as ithe lake is big enough to keep it interesting. It was a nice and hassle-free experience!

This place is amazing. It's private, quiet, and beautiful. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The place is well maintained and clean. The view is stunning, and there are so many places to enjoy it from. We enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, and BBQ. And we saw so much wildlife, including a resident loon and a couple beavers, foxes, and of course the bullfrog who croaked several times a day! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, and would love to go back! Thanks for everything Ian!

The cottage has a fantastic view of the lake and a great deck to sit and enjoy it from. The inside was great for our family of 3. Everything was very clean. Ian was a fantastic host and was very quick to respond on any questions we had.

We have rented this property 3 years now, and it has always been excellent. The property is well maintained and well supplied. The location is easy to get to, and has great boating and fishing. Our weather wasn't the best this year, but it didn't matter because they have a great selection of DVDs to keep you entertained.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property. A great place, on a great lake. We've rented many places in many locations over the years, and this one was one of the best. It is in very good shape, and well supplied.

The cottage was spotless, well equipped...love the cathedral ceiling and picture windows from which we could enjoy that spectacular view of the lake. The deck and many sitting areas were great for relaxing while again taking in the view. We appreciated the peace and quiet, also the privacy. We enjoyed exploring the lake by kayak and our motor boat...the lake is huge, goes on for miles with many inlets and islands. Stopped for an occasional swim along the way. Enjoyed evenings around the campfire and playing cards. Visited Shabot Lake, had a nice dinner at The Maples restaurant. We had a wonderful week, Thank you Ian for making the process of renting so simple and for sharing such a lovely place with us. Ruth and Kevin

A wonderful, quiet getaway. Cottage is immaculate, comfortable and well-stocked. The property is very private, with nice gardens and a wonderful view over a bay on the lake. Our family with two teens and a dog had a great time with the kayaks/canoe, enjoying the many relaxing sitting areas, watching the wildlife, reading, watching movies, driving out to nearby towns, etc. A fantastic, relaxing place for a week away from it all.

We had a wonderful stay at the Spence cottage! Everything was very clean and well maintained. The cool breeze that comes through the house is refreshing and keeps it at a comfortable temperature inside. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were comfy to sleep in. We really liked the walk in shower in the bathroom too. The view of the lake from the tall cathedral windows was beautiful and the deck had a lot of room to sit and take in the beauty of nature. We enjoyed the kayaks and fishing spots on the lake as well. From the time we booked online, Ian and Shelley were very helpful with information we needed about boat rentals and general information about the lake and surrounding towns. All in all we had a great, relaxing time at the cottage and will definitely be back!

This is our second year in a row staying at this home on Bobs Lake. This place does not disappoint. The owners have always been great to work with and the house is always clean and in excellent condition when we arrive. This place has everything you need to make a memorable Bobs Lake vacation. Our family of four had a great week at the Spence cottage! We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and saw just how private it was. There was tons of space outside for the kids (and dog) to run around. The kayaks were a lot of fun and easy enough for our ten year old to use without the fear of tipping. The cottage itself was immaculate and very well equipped. All we had to bring were sheets and towels.There was also plenty to do on our rainy day with a great assortment of games and DVDS. The Spence's were always quick to respond to my questions before, during, and even after our stay (when we realized we had left behind baseball gloves). We would definitely rent from them again!

This home was a wonderful return the lake for us. We have been staying at camps along the lake for years and this tops everything! The house was spotless and the landscaping was beautiful. Everything was picture perfect. We cannot wait to return!

The "cottage" and property exceeded our expectations. The lake traffic was minimal even for a long weekend. Highly recommended. Will rent again.

This is our second time at Ian and Shelley Spence's cottage on Bob's Lake. We came to fish with our 17 year old grandson and can recommend this site for people who love to fish, as that's mostly what we do, from our fishing pontoon. We like the proximity of the boat launch at Cedar Haven, just 5 minutes from the cottage. The bass fishing is great and provided our meals for the whole time we were there. We also enjoy the wildlife - loons, herons, family of raccoons, baby sea gulls. The dock is very convenient. The cottage is immaculate, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The deck is delightful, with cozy sitting areas and a dining table. The sandy area near the dock is another convenient sitting area with adirondack chairs. Availability of kayaks and fire pit is nice also. We highly recommend this cottage without any reservation whatsoever.

Wonderfully well kept cottage with helpfull owners. The only issue is the shallow weedy bay off the dock... Still swimable particularly for small kids

We had a wonderful time at this cottage with our family. It has a gorgeous view and everything you need to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We loved the kayaks (our 2 1/2 year old did too!), and also appreciated that firewood was provided. The cottage was especially clean, the beds were all comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. Don't miss out on this treasure!

Had an amazing time last year. It was a home away from home especially that we could bring our family pet. Loved the water and the views. Would recommend this cottage for family fun! Hope to book again next year.
