The Octopus Lair was perfect for our stay. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and to lots of restaurants and shops. We also rented bikes and rode all around the island! The Lair was clean and most importantly had amazing AC. The property was very charming and we were lucky enough to see the local osprey nesting in her trees! If you had another couple vacationing with you, it would be perfect to have them rent the upstairs while you stayed downstairs. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time in Tybee Island, GA and we weren’t sure where to book to stay. But this place was amazing for us. It was super close to the market, the beach, food, and stores! Everything was within a ten minute walk, such a convenient location and really nice area! It had plenty of space and everything you needed to cook. It was a fantastic trip and I would definitely book again and i recommend for anyone who wants a nice cozy place to stay in a very convenient area!

Loved the Octopus Lair. Location was great. Had everything we needed. Super handy to have access to a washer and dryer. Neighborhood was quaint and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the bottom floor with our dog as well. Perfect size for us. Everything worked properly & as advertised. Would probably choose 2nd level if available for next time bc of limited seating when raining. Overall wonderful experience 😊

This is the perfect one bedroom house for a trip without children. It was perfect to walk to restaurants, grocery shopping, and the beach. The house has everything you need! We can’t wait to book again!

There was some problems with the property when we first arrived and Cathy did get right on it. The location was perfect, a short walk to the beach and the store. You could hear people upstairs walking around but it wasn’t a major problem. The price was right and for 2 people, it works. We hope to go back.

Cathy provided us with detailed information prior to check in. Octopus Lair was very clean and the bed was very comfy. It was a short walk from the 12th street entrance to the beach. We had a wonderful overnight stay!

We had a pleasant 3 days at the Lair. Everything in walking distance, so nice to not see high rise hotels in beach side.
Savannah close by , walked on the beach everyday , and toured this island.

It was cold when we arrived. Cathy responded very quickly to advise of the best want to expedite warming the place up. I wish we had had more time to stay to and enjoy the area.

This is a cute apartment in a great spot. It's a short walk to the grocery store and the "downtown" area. It's a very friendly town.

This was a great 1 bedroom apartment near the beach. The place was very clean and decorated in a beach theme. The full size kitchen was handy. Communication with Cathy was great and check in was easy. I was able to add on extra days and Cathy handled that for me through VRBO. I would easily stay here again!!

This cottage was perfectly situated in close proximity to the beach. Stocked with everything needed for a few days at the beach. Definitely recommend.

Cathy was great and responsive. Really fantastic and she is the reason I gave a 4 star instead of a 3
Negatives:
The shower was disgusting. Enough where I really didn’t want to use it but no other alternative. Had my wife and I dreaming of our shower at home. This was our only real issue with the property. The others below were minor. There was mold everywhere. My wife bleached it and scrubbed but the black mold wouldn’t come off. Half the shower was slightly raised and dipped in but there wasn’t a drain on that part, therefore water collected there and stayed. You stepped into that puddle when first getting into the shower. Gross. The other drain was not attached and you kept having to make sure it was properly over the drainage pipe. The caddy hanging from the shower head was broken and kept falling down. Easy fix with a hair tie to keep from sliding down shower head. This shower was enough for us to never want to stay here again. I hope Cathy can get it updated soon because it’s such a nice place besides the shower.
Couch and chairs weren’t the most comfortable. They were pretty firm. Not that big of a deal unless you plan on sleeping on the sofa which is easy to convert.
No door to bedroom. This was a negative because we had an infant and couldn’t shut the door when she went down before her. We managed and it wasn’t that big of a deal.
TV made a high pitched whine when off. We couldn’t sleep with the noise, so we unplugged it. We notified Cathy of problem and she came by that day with a brand new TV and got it all squared away. Fantastic! No real issue here
Closest sliding door were difficult to open and close. They kept falling off the track and so we didn’t use the closet at all. Which was a little bit of a hassle since there isn’t any other way to store clothes, no dresser in room. Lived out of suitcases. Again, another minor inconvenience

We were totally satisfied with our stay in the Octopus Lair (downstairs) The apartment was CLEAN and well appointed with just about anything you could possibly need. We visit Tybee about every 2 yrs and will definitely try to book this property again.

This was our 2nd year staying in Cathy's rental.. we absolutely loved it the first time and was super happy we was able to get it again! it's so convenient to the beach and the shops! its always clean and she's easy to come with before the trip and during for check in and out. we hope to be able to stay again.

We actually rented both floors of this property and enjoyed our stay in this very cute cottage.
Owner definitely did a great job supplying us with extra towels, linens and cleaning supplies.
The place was very clean. It needs updated electrical outlets and the existing recepticals are worn. Also could use ceiling fans and tv in bedrooms.
