We are raising our special needs grandson who is almost 8. He really liked the hot tub and all the arcade games. I especially enjoyed the full size pinball machine. The veiw was spectacular. The walk to the beach was over the dunes. The water was just a little too cold for us to make use of the paddle boards or kayaks. Mark the rental manager was very helpful. If you want a relaxing getaway this may be the answer.

This property gives you the serene feeling of nature and all the vibes of the beach. The host, Mark, was exceptional. Everything you can imagine is provided. Being in the hot tub on a cool night and looking over the lake was the best experience.

Great place to unwind and enjoy the beach. Hot tub a big hit. The king bed was amazing.

Plenty of toys and extras, most worked. Bit of a hippie vibe. Hot water was spotty. Not sure we understood the place was the entire second floor of a 3-floor unit, with a dropped ceiling, and part of a compound. Enjoyed the deck and new grill. Really nice beach, mostly secluded. Nightly deer and cat visits. No noise or neighbor issues.

Clean property and access to beach

Great place to stay for a family vacation. Apartment felt like a house-so many amenities! Very clean! The walk to the beach is a beautiful, winding trail through the dunes. The beach is pristine, the water was warm and clear. It felt like a private beach! We travelled with our 20 and 16 year old sons and they enjoyed the video games. Sauna was nice and the hot tub was excellent. The parking is tight but not really a big deal. The only other thing to note is most of the video games and the sauna are in one bedroom so that bedroom is packed full. Some people commented about it negatively but it wasn't a problem for us. You have to look around to figure out how to turn all the games on but it's not hard. Overall, we had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

Everything that was described was there. All the amenities. Amazing view, short walk to the beach. All games worked and my daughter had a blast in the kids room. All the extra commodities the house included was amazing. We never left the house to go anywhere else. Fireworks right on the beach so no traffic to wade thur. Absolutly perfect. Would go back in a heart beat.

For the money we paid we felt it to be lacking. We were told how private our stay would be and how we could hear the waves coming in. Our deck overlooked a lot of junk, very weeded up. Pinball machine in apt did not work. Woke to water coming out of ceiling soaking carpet from guests above us. The entrance to our beach apt was cluttered and not made for someone with trouble walking stairs are steep and wood. At 1200.00 for 2 nights I expect the room to have wash cloths in it not have to call someone in California to get them. Owner out of state was attentive but maintenance man caring for property was lacking. We thought we would have a good view of the lake but that was not accurate. We were told there was a snow cone machine in room. Never saw that. Overall just felt the vrbo description was over the top. It was plain simple apt nothing stood out. Some people might love it but it was not for us.

The house was perfect and had every amenity that was advertised. We will definitely take the grandkids back again. They loved it!!!

2 adults and 2 teens. We’ve stayed at this property in the past and have always enjoyed it. It’s always clean, has what you need, close to the beach and nice amenities. The hot tub is great! The property is as the owner describes it to be and if you contact him via a phone call when you get there he can give you recommendations of restaurants and shops. There is a nice zoo up the road, restaurants just a short drive away. We will stay here again.

This property is located close to the beach with no buildings or structures between the beach house and the beach!! We loved taking our dog on walks in the early morning and as the sun was setting. It is also near many Michigan City restaurants that serve good food and yummy micro brews. We had a good time exploring the Indiana Dunes and Warren State Park. Both are dog friendly and our dog had a great time at both sites!! The apartment is well stocked and clean. The deck provides a great view of the lake and a jacuzzi for relaxing after a busy day on the beach. Although we did not use them, there are lots of beach equipment, bikes, and toys available for beach guests to use.

Nice getaway for our family with our dogs. Great games for our teens. All the conveniences covered. Nice view of and access to the dunes and lake. Nice hot tub. Very close to the National park and state park. Outlet mall close by. Lots of deer walking by the unit. Had hoped to use the kayaks, but were away for winter. We didn’t realize the unit was an apartment, since it wasn’t mentioned in the listing. VERY tight parking for a truck.

Even though we visited the beachouse while the weather was cold, it was still a greatly needed getaway and provided a relaxing and fun weekend! The beachouse had so many amenities that catered to the whole family having fun without even needing to leave the house if we didn't want to! Loved the arcade games, massage chair, sauna, and hot tub :) the kids enjoyed the waffles and snow cones too!

It's a nice spot right on the lake, perfect to stroll down to the beach or sit in the hot tub and look out on water If it's cold. If it's rainy out, the place is stocked with games - including pinball. The place isn't big, but maximizes every inch and the furniture is super comfortable. The only real downside was communication - it's all over the phone. No text or email.

This was exactly what we were hoping for. Enjoyed the view, hot tub, and fireplace. Everything we needed was there. Was very clean.

The place matched the description and suited our needs. The kitchen was fully stocked and it was spacious. The owner was personable and responsive and you can tell that he takes feedback because he wasn’t gruff at all like past reviews stated. The big problem is that the sheets in one of the bedrooms obviously hadn’t been changed because there was sand on the sheets. When I called the owner, he was confused that we were even using that bedroom since there were only 3 of us (me, my adult child and my teenager) and lingered on that. The hot tub and pinball machine weren’t working, but this was over New Years so it’s understandable that he couldn’t get anyone out to fix them. He offered us use of the hot tub from the downstairs unit, but we ended up skipping it. The game room had a lot of choices but it only had half of the games that were supposed to be there. My main concern with that was that someone might think that we’d taken them. The massage chair was wonderful and perfect after long walks on the beach. The patio was perfect for watching storms over the lake. The fireplace made the living room cozy. The sauna and jacuzzi were also great for January. It was easy to find the place based on the directions and parking was fine. Everything was so quiet and peaceful and we even saw deer at night while walking the dog. Beware that the downstairs property manager has two dogs and they could get barky, so I had to get my dog out so he didn’t respond. Overall a good experience and the location is perfect, so we’d come back.

This was a nice and intimate getaway. Just what we were looking for. It was quiet and tucked away. The beautiful lake view along with the natural surroundings (deer, blue jay and cardinals, black squirrels playing in trees) created a peaceful environment. The massage chair was… Amazing!! This owner has captured the meaning of serenity. Thank you again.

We loved the arcade games and the ping pong. It was very comfortable accommodations, especially the massage chair and it had everything we needed.

The beach and view are absolutely beautiful and the beds were comfortable. A lot of the advertised amenities though didn’t work. There was no AC—it had been winterized—which made us uncomfortable when it was nearly 80 degrees outside. The hot tub never got hot, and several of the video games didn’t work. There is a landline that you are supposed to use to get in touch with the landlord—it rang super early in the morning waking us all up which was unpleasant.

Direct access to the beach. Walk the beach 10-15 min to the lighthouse. Property has deck view of The Lake. Enough amenities to be comfortable. Host gives you privacy but a phone call away for anything.

We signed up and paid in full on VRBO and indicated we had 4 adults, 2 children, and 1 infant. We got to the location and the property manager said that only people are allowed. It turned out there was an inconsistency with the vrbo listing and our reservation process. But the treatment from the property manager was excessive, berating, and unprofessional.

Loved everything about this rental. Had a blast playing the games with the family. The view we had was beautiful and we are already planning on returning next year for a summer vacation. This is definitely a rental you do not have to leave to enjoy every single minute of your vacation.

The location on the beach was just perfect - soft sand, not too crowded, breathtaking sunsets. Beach is a short-ish walk through dune grass. Premises were very clean. We enjoyed the games, massage chair, and also made shaved ice and belgian waffles. We walked into town most nights - about a mile to restaurants, some of the walk is without sidewalks, but traffic wasn't bad. Would return!

Good location, good communication, very clean, nice amenities. Two level House was kind of old with charm. Apartment is updated, the one we were at was big, 3b, very clean and had nice amenities. Loved the massage chair. We didn’t use the hot tube or sauna but looked great.
