Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. The house was incredible and even better than anticipated from online photos. Our kids said it was the best house yet! Incredibly clean. Comfortable. Bright. Spacious. Beautiful views and fantastic pool. Some reviews mentioned the kitchen lacking but I did not find that to be the case and we spent 4 of our evenings having homemade dinners. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Truly wonderful experience. After 11 years of vacationing with a large family, everyone agreed that Big Kahuna was the best place we have ever stayed. The only thing lacking was kitchen supplies for people who do a lot of cooking and a clothesline for wet towels. The layout was great. It whole place was very clean. The pool was a lifesaver as was the elevator. The view from the widow's watch was beautiful. Tons of room for a large family. Everything was well maintained. Great place to spend a week even in bad weather.

The Big Kahuna is absolutely beautiful! It is new, clean and decorated beautifully. We had some very specific requirements and it met and exceeded each one. The bedrooms and inside and outside living spaces are great. We loved the open top floor and the pool area. Being on the canal was fabulous. The elevator was wonderful (we had all forgotten about it prior to our stay). Our only wish was that there would have been a ladder to get onto the dock from the canal. Thank you so much!

Awesome house great location. House def needs some kitchen equipment. We struggled w pots and pans and cooking utensils. Elevator was awesome pool was awesome. I would recommend it.

We loved the house and the location! Perfectly stocked for our three family crew. A beautiful spot on the canal and a quick walk to the beach access. Heated pool meant all the kids could swim in November! Fishing, kayaking, FUN!!

The only thing I would suggest is adding a fish sink for those who love to fish. Everything else was just marvelous. Thanks!

A second trash can is definately needed. Instructions for the tvs and remotes would be helpful. We never figured out how to work the tv in the master bedroom.

Beautiful, clean, and large new home! Pictures don't do it justice! Lots of natural light on the third level with a nice view of the ocean. We spent most of our time on ground level with the dock, pool, nice yard and bar area which was amazing. Our kids took a lot of outdoor showers because of the hot water, plenty of space, and privacy. We wished there was a bathroom on the ground level but it wasn't a big deal to run upstairs and use one.The large balconies on the back of the house were fantastic and we spent a lot of time there. Note, you will need to take chairs for the second level and bedroom balconies because there are none but we took collapsible camp chairs so it was no big deal. The open concept of the large kitchen, living, and dining areas was perfect for our large family. Beautiful views of the canal from all levels. Nice, clean neighborhood. The bedrooms didn't have a lot of space around the beds but (other than the room with bunks) they were plenty adequate and the comfortable mattresses, queen and king beds, and balconies made up for it. The bunk room was very small but would be ok for young children (we had tall teens with a lot of clothes). As a personal preference we used an air mattress because sharing the queen sleeper sofa downstairs was too tight for two people. Just a note the upstairs couch is not a sleeper sofa but the up and downstairs sofas were comfortable. The bathrooms in both masters were large with great showers. The kids enjoyed the half baths on both floors which cut down on traffic in the jack n jill bathroom. As another reviewer mentioned, the pool was a lot colder than expected but the kids loved it. Paying to have it heated isn't a bad idea since the pool is in the shade. Most of the time we used golf carts for getting people and stuff to the beach but the walk to the beach is not bad at all. The beach is clean and uncrowded. If you drive to the east end of the island the beach is huge with lots of seashells. Lots of people fish there. We highly recommend Big Kahuna and would definitely rent it again! Stellar Beach Rentals was great to work with. Only complaint is the second golf cart we paid extra for wasn't there when we arrived and it was dark before it was delivered.

We loved this house it was beautiful

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! The interior of this property was gorgeous. We fell in love with the wall color and gray floor tile with white accents. There were plenty of bedrooms and space to accommodate our immediate family of 4, along with both sides of in-laws. The kitchen window overlooking the beach is a wonderful touch. Having the elevator to bring up our things was an added bonus, especially with me being 7 months pregnant. We loved the decks overlooking the canal, but I do agree with a previous reviewer - having rocking chairs would have been awesome. The dock was great for attempting to fish (we caught nothing! ha ha!), but crabbing was successful and fun for the kids. I believe we all appreciated having the private saltwater pool and that was my favorite part of the house. We spent hours in there! Overall, the house was spacious and the epitome of what we look for in a vacation home. The only negatives I can muster up about our stay was that the golf cart was not there (would have made the trek to the beach a lot easier, but it's absence did nothing to diminish our overall enjoyment) and the TV in the main living area was a pain to figure out how to use (*hint* open the cabinet door so the cable remote can get a better signal to the box). Other than that, Wanda Tate - the property manager - was a pleasure to work with and any negatives were quickly forgotten due to us having such a wonderful time. Ocean Isle Beach has been our vacation spot for years, but thanks to our experience last week Holden Beach will be our go-to destination from now on. We were all sad to leave on check-out day and definitely look forward to staying at the Big Kahuna next year!

Plenty of room ...needs rocking chairs for second deck and a ladder for the dock...we loved being able to crab from dock...the house is beautiful...the golf cart was great to get everyone to the beach... spacious kitchen and the outside bar and grill were perfect for cookouts...loved the pool area! pleasant neighbors willing to share their dock and good advice for places to eat...could wash dishes all day looking out at the view which was ocean...

We enjoyed our stay at the Big Kauna. The house is great and well stocked with TVs and anything you need. We loved being on the channel and having the golf cart to go to the beach was perfect. The pool and the elevator were nice too.
