Wow! What views!! We usually stay strictly oceanfront, so this was quite different. Surrounded on three sides by water. Was fun to watch many people fishing and the boats that would anchor in the sound. We beached it a couple days on the channel/sound side and really enjoyed it as it’s definitely a little calmer and quieter than the ocean side. But we love the ocean side too, and it is a bit of a hike over a couple dunes to get there from this home. As to the home itself, it’s beautifully decorated with large windows all around which allowed for the great views. It was so clean and very well appointed. Has a great deck with plenty of furniture which was perfect for watching the amazing sunsets. You can’t go wrong here!!

This is our second year staying here and we love it! It feels so homey and the views can't be beat. We will never stay anywhere but the Point--great shells, fishing and peaceful vibes! Faye has taken great care in her home and to being a gracious host. Thank you for another wonderful vacation!

The view alone was amazing…the house was very inviting and cozy with everything we could need. Our family truly enjoyed our stay and the property owner couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating. The sunsets were breath taking right dead center of the back porch overlooking the water.

The week was really amazing. The beach house was located at the end of Emerald Isle, the view was amazing and just perfect for our family. The house was clean and the owner was easy to contact to answer any questions we had.

The view is amazing and if that is what you are going for you will NOT be disappointed! The house is great as well - clean - no bugs, which is a HUGE plus for me. :) The walk to the beach is a 20 minutes in the sand, which can be difficult (even my 12 yr old was tired) so be ready for that!

Where do i even start....this was AMAZING and just what the 'doctor' ordered. We had the kids out of school for Spring Break and found this gem on VRBO. If you look through the pictures, this is the PERFECT location. You have access to the bay as well as access to the beach and the Inlet! The kids would run out and be GONE playing. I even think i heard 'please' and 'thank you' between them!!
In seriousness, everything was close by - there's a Publix and Food Lion on the island and a quick drive from the house.
We had a couple of rainy days, but no one stepped on each others toes - the fireplace was cozy as well on the mornings.
Faye was a dream to work with and everything was smooth as silk!
We can't wait to come back! Thank you to YOU FAYE!!!

This place is beyond spectacular! The views within the dunes from the front porch are amazing, but it really takes your breath away you step inside and open the blinds to reveal the dunes, the ocean, sound, and Bear Island. You have the options of walking to the beach or the back channel, where things change with the tides and make it so much fun to explore.
The house is well-appointed and peaceful, especially in the off season when we visited.
We would rent this again in a heartbeat and it's a 5-star property with a location that is nearly impossible to beat!

Sunsets are glorius, best western view from E.I. Path to the sound had grown shut which was disappointing but the house is quiet and lovely.

The views are amazing. The walk to the beach was farther than I imagined, but manageable. The cottage was nice and mostly clean.

What a great location and a cozy house! We’ve been coming to EI, NC as a family for more than 20 years, and our stay this year ranks as one of the best to date. The property provided all the comforts of home, with incredible views (sunsets from the porch!) and easy walking access to the beach, inlet, and sound. We’re already looking forward to next year!

We loved our stay at The Point. The house was clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated right on the water where we got to watch beautiful sunsets and even a thunderstorm. Faye, our host, was extremely responsive. We were so sad when our week was up and look forward to returning again.

The location of this classic cottage is incredible…on the point of the island nestled in the dunes. Although our week was not the best in terms of weather, we had a great time. The cottage was charming and well appointed.

Private & Relaxing
We had a wonderful week-long stay. The view from the porch is stunning and so private. It felt so special to stay in the dunes and have a 180 degree view. I prefer a more private beach experience to a high-rise right off the ocean---and that's what this is. As many other reviews noted, the walk to the beach is about half a mile; we rented a cart to carry all our stuff. I was glad to have exercise built in to my routine! It was worth it to be nestled in the dunes. We practically had the beach to ourselves, too. Most of the people seem to be further down the Point.
The house itself is beautiful, well-appointed, and very comfortable. All 5 of us slept wonderfully and we cooked all our meals in the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely Beach Home
The moment you walk in the door, you immediately feel comfortable at this lovely home. The house is very clean, well ordered, comfortable and beautifully appointed. It is well provisioned with all the kitchen tools/implements, beach chairs, sand digging tools (kids) you could possibly need. The beds and bedding are very comfortable (a treat to get good sheets and towels in a rental!). It is a perfect place for a small family or friends get-together. We loved the location because of the spectacular sunsets and privacy. The walk to the best beach is about 10 minutes but not a problem. The beach nearest the house is quite close to the sound and isn't ideal for swimming due to the current and involves a very long trek across an expanse of hot sand . Overall, we all loved it and hated to leave. We definitely recommend it and hope to return.

Great family vacation, 5 stars!
We typically go to the mountains this time of year, but we are so glad we chose this home for an October beach trip! All the comforts of home, even above & beyond with extra towels, blankets, cookware, even Disney Channel for the kids. We went to the NC aquarium one day, spent most afternoons on the beach collecting shells, then retreated for the evenings behind the sand dunes for the most spectacular sunsets...did I mention the back porch view of a bird sanctuary? The only thing we would have done differently is to buy a truck pass for the beach on day 1. The home was easy to access per Faye's instructions and we found it to be very clean and comfortable. We would love to come back!

Wonderful vacation
Beautiful home and location. This was the perfect place to decompress from work and life. My husband and I enjoyed the first half of the week on our own, then enjoyed the second half with my sister and nieces. The home had everything we needed, and more. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect family getaway!
We had a great family getaway. The house was beautiful. It was ideally located between the sound and ocean. The beaches were not crowded. It was a perfect place to unwind and to spend quality time with the kids. The house was also close to many of the restaurants in town. We couldn't ask for more.

Wonderful Place
The pictures don't do this place justice! Spotless and very well kept/maintained. All the comforts or home. Nice and plentiful linens. Well stocked in the kitchen. Needed nothing but food and drink when we arrived. Lots of character and in an excellent location. Walk directly to the beach. Nice deck. We own a overnight rental and are very picky. Owner was responsive and nice. This place gets 5++ stars.

Romantic but not for physically handicapped or small children
This is a beautiful cottage with amazing sunset views! It was very clean and comfortable. However we looked specifically for a place that was beachfront because we have 4 children, one of which has special needs and we needed easy access to the beach. This is anything but that. While it is surrounded by water on 3 sides (having walking access to the sound and beach was great), it is quite a trek to the actual waves (seemed like approximately 1/3-1/2 mile), having to go around dunes and over the very wide beach. It was very difficult to get him and our toddler to the beach and back each time, having to carry them or take breaks. I would highly recommend this place to a couple as the sunsets were romantic but not for a family with small children or someone with physical disability looking for easy beach access. I just wanted to share that to help any other families that may be in the same situation.

Pretty Perfect
Loved our stay at this home. Faye was a delight and very responsive and helpful. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The distance to the beach was further than we had anticipated and when carrying beach gear, feels like a lot. Having said that, the privacy and charm are really tough to beat.

The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The location is close to amenities but is tucked away in a quiet part of the island with easy access to the beach. We could have stayed a month.

Great beach getaway
The house was as advertised, the sunsets from the deck are spectacular, the internet worked flawlessly (unfortunately for my wife she had to zoom meeting for 4 straight days). Great week on the Crystal Coast!

Beautiful Sunsets
Our family had a great week at Emerald Isle. The house was very clean and comfortable. We loved the quiet location. It was perfect for walks, surf fishing, and watching the beautiful sunsets.

Clean, comfortable— feels like “home” at the beach. Relaxing walks, fishing ocean and sound. Sandcastles, shell collecting, flying kites. Wonderful for entire family. Our go-to place when we need a break!

Great vacation away from the crowds
We had a great time in Faye‘s lovely home! The location is exceptional and the views are amazing. The house is very cozy and we felt immediately at home. The deck is an awesome place to spend all your time, even during a spring drizzle (there is a separated screened part where you will not get wet or bitten by mosquitos). The beds are very comfortable and the appliances up to date. The booking experience was flawless and Faye was always very responsive. We can highly recommend this property and are looking forward to coming back some day!

Wonderful home
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very quiet and cozy home. It was extremely clean and comfortable with high end decor. I cannot imagine there is any location on the entire island that is a better location for sunsets. The owner was quick and attentive to any questions or inquiries we had during our stay.

Perfect Little Bungalow
We couldn’t have been happier with this beautifully chicly decorated bungalow on the Point. The access to both sound and surf was convenient and provided access to everything from boogie boarding, swimming, sunbathing, and shelling to fishing, crabbing, kayaking and exploring. The view from the deck is gorgeous and the sunsets are incredible. The house was sparkling clean and Faye was great to communicate with. We were so very grateful she was willing to share this property with us!!!

Lovely spot, lovely house
A quiet spot nestled in dunes, with wraparound windows and big deck giving views of dunes, grasses, sand and water. Comfortable furnishings, nice kitchen, a gas fireplace for the colder days, a small screened porch for the rainy ones- a great place.

We really enjoyed our stay! We visited in late September and the weather/water was warm enough for the kids to enjoy swimming several days in the ocean. On other days we flew kites, played in the sand, walked the neighborhood/beach/sound, etc. One day it stormed and we stayed inside and streamed movies from a computer and enjoyed the living space, which is very comfortable.
In case it's useful for others -- our kids are in virtual (elem) school right now and the wifi worked very well for both of them with video meetings for class. If we'd had any issues, the Verizon signal was also strong and we could have tethered with our cell phones.
Thank you for having us! We really enjoyed it... it was just the break we needed after spending so much time working and schooling from home this year.

Beautiful location
The house was lovely and location superb. Faye was very responsive to questions. There are just a couple of suggestions/observations - cable channel selection is very, very limited (i.e. no CNN, MSNBC, ESPN); the only toilet paper available were partial rolls on the holder. On the plus side - lots of towels/washcloths.

Lovely beach house
This is the cleanest beach house I’ve ever rented. Amazing panoramic view from the deck. House was perfectly sized for our small group. Part of the beach is a protected bird sanctuary so I was able to do some bird watching and spotted a couple of rare species.

Felt like a big Hug!
We couldn’t have been happier staying at this perfect cottage! It was so cozy, walking in felt like a big hug. Views are amazing and in a short walk you’re either on the ocean or the sound. Doesn’t get any better than that. Faye is a pleasure to work with, she made everything super easy and was very responsive with anything we needed.
We can’t wait to go back!
