I can't say enough about how easy it was to reserve, checking, communicate and enjoy our stay. Even the pull out couch was comfortable. The ocean is so close, just like in the pictures. It's true this is not a 5 star place, but it's not run down either. It's perfect for a clean, comfortable and affordable stay with all of the comforts of home. Thank you Joan! When we arrived the unit was very clean and neat as the photos showed. The unit had some upgrading done - the bathroom, shower and the kitchen are nicer than some of the other units we’ve seen. Also the tile flooring was easy to keep clean. The living room area was comfortable. The couch is a queen hide-a-bed, which we didn’t use. We really enjoyed having a ground floor unit. Loved being able to open the doors go out to the lanai, grassy area or beach. It made the unit seem much bigger. The kitchen was stocked with basic cooking supplies. We cooked mostly prepared or frozen meals so it worked out fine. There is a Kerig, coffee maker, toaster, blender and rice cooker. The king size bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan helped keep the bedroom cool. In the closet there are 4 folding beach chairs, a beach umbrella, some boogie boards, a large cooler and pool noodles. Also, there are several beach towels. The beach in front of the condo is the best in Maui! A 10 minute walk on the beach takes you to a small farmer’s market, bakery and coffee shop, shave ice and an ABC store. Also, it’s a great central location to other parts of the island. The host Joan was very helpful with some minor issues that arose during our stay. However, one thing to keep in mind is, the unit is very close to the pool/hot tub area and it can get noisy at night, however they close the pool area at 9:30pm and things quiet down after that. Definitely will come back again!

We loved this place! You just open your sliding class doors and walk right onto the beach and steps away from the pool! That convenience alone was so nice! There were also beach towels and chairs to use which was so nice. Everything in the condo was as described! A+++++

Loved the easy access to Sugar Beach!

Ground floor ocean front, clean, responsive friendly management. Long walks on a quiet beach sunsets and sunrises. Comfortable beautiful condo. You can't beat that. We look forward to returning again.

Condo was ready and equipped as advertised. No surprises and and an easy experience with the owner. Enjoyed our stay very much. Pool and hot tub are used frequently by other guests. We didn't use, but they all spoke highly of the outdoor grill setup. Property is well maintained, with crews cleaning all outdoor facilities daily. They recycle everything here too, which was nice. Friendly staff and helpful folks at the local travel agency that shares an office with the resort. They were super nice, but if you know what you want to do, book direct to avoid an extra "credit card fee" and tip. Beware, on your checkout day that your lock code may change early on you, locking you out of the room. Use the door stopper while you're getting you car ready to leave.

This condo was nothing short of perfection. So well stocked, beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and to walk straight out to the beach was as good as it gets! Already tried to rebook for winter but it’s booked solid! Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay with my daughter!

The property was right by the ocean and the pool. It was perfect for relaxing and playing with our kids. The property concierge was great and very helpful for making our experience in Maui unforgettable. Bravo to everything!

This property was exactly what we were looking for. Quick beach access, also quick pool access. Unit was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. If we return to Maui we will def try to stay here again

This place was perfect for our family of 4. Great proximity to all parts of the island. Corner ground floor unit provided an easy walk to the beach or pool. Super quiet as well, no loud neighbors whatsoever. Would definitely stay here again. Beach towels, chairs, umbrella were provided. A boogie board would be a great addition!

I snorkeled in the beach outside the condo and it was fantastic! Swimming with turtles every time. I would advise to have water shoes or snorkel right away so as to avoid cutting your feet on the coral.

Excellent location just steps from the beach and convenient to everything. My wife and i truly enjoyed our stay.

Sugar Beach Resort is a wonderfully located and FUN place to stay! Our condo had the perfect view of the sky and sun and the ocean and the beach! The very clean condo was fully equipped with just about anything you would need. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was great, and having a washer/dryer (with detergent included!) was the cherry on top. Joan was a wonderful host who was very kind and responsive to any questions, and the resort staff was great! If you would like to make memories in an oceanfront unit in Maui, this is the one to book! Enjoy!

The location of the unit and the views from the lanai were great. The bed was really comfy. The location of the resort is great. I love that you’re literally a few feet from the beach. It’s less than 20 minutes from the airport and only a few minutes from a large restaurant and grocery area by car. There’s a nice little bake shop and farmers market within walking distance. On the downside, the resort is dated and shows of wear and is not much to look at when approaching it. The unit itself could be cleaner. There were roaches and gnats present during our stay. The television needs to be upgraded. It is smaller than my monitor at work. And this is by no fault of the owner or resort, but the entire area had a power outage shortly after we checked in. After traveling all day and being exhausted, we had no where to charge our phones and relax, so we had to drive to the grocery area and spend time there. Management kind of just brushed us off and said “nothing that we can do about it and you will just have to wait”. Which is true, but I found the communication to be in poor taste to travelers who aren’t familiar with the area and do not know what to expect. Overall, this unit is a good place for 4 people to stay. The location is wonderful. With a few updates, this place would be great.

my husband and I spend time on Maui 3 to 4 times a year since it is such a quick trip from LA… We have stayed at many properties on the island and this is by far our new favorite. The amenities are great, the property is so clean and well-maintained. Plus, the location is fabulous as you can walk right out to the beach from the lanai. will definitely stay here again!

The property was extremely clean. The view and proximity to the ocean is amazing and we loved being next to the pool as well. The air conditioner is a bit tricky but once we figured out that the back door had to be closed just right it was great! We loved that there were pool towels, beach chairs and an umbrella available for use! We loved our stay and hopefully will be back soon!

You are steps away from the ocean on the ground floor. Nice and clean and just love listening to the ocean while you practically do everything. Fourth time back to Sugar Beach Resort and third time with one of Joan's condos. Will book again.

We returned with our baby and enjoyed the property just as much as we did previously. The location is so wonderful being on ground level. Joan was a great host and even left us with baby laundry detergent which was a very thoughtful touch.

This Unit at Sugar Beach Resort was THE perfect place for us. It is exactly as described. It has an unobstructed view of the ocean with a quiet and seemingly private beach. Be sure to wear protective footwear in the water as it is deceptively uneven and rocky as you wade out. We were able to see whales in the distance from the lanai. If you want a mellow and beautiful Hawaiian Beach experience, the Sugar Beach Resort is the place to be. The unit is close to the pool, the grills, and the walkway to the beach. The unit is well-equipped. There are beach towels, beach chairs, and a boogie board. The kitchen has everything necessary for preparing meals. The king sized bed is extremely comfortable. There are plenty of towels for showers. The location is ideal…an easy drive to the airport, to Kihei, or to Lahaina. It’s far enough away from lots of activity and convenient enough to get to restaurants and shops without stress. Thank you, Joan, for sharing your amazing condo with us. We loved it and plan to return here again.

The condo was as advertised. It was very comfortable and steps away from the beach. The property had a nice pool and hot tub, which was nice in the evenings. The location was quiet and away from the "nightlife", but closer enough to drive if wanted.

This was the first time staying in Kihei. Great location, close to stores and easy to find. The condo building is located in a quiet spot. Which makes it perfect for watching whales and turtles! After a day of playing, it was nice to come back to a laid back area. Bonus-the bed is amazing! Thank you-

Overall this is a great place to stay. Gorgeous sunrise and sunset views!!! Condo is equipped with all the home essentials needed. Condo complex was very quiet and clean. We would stay again.

Clean, well kept,beachfront,but vacuum did not work and there was no broom to clean the floor with.Bed was excellent and comfy.

We enjoyed our short stay, wish we had more time to visit the beautiful island. The property was quiet and peaceful. Loved hearing the tide coming in during the evening. The only issue was the water running nonstop in the shower. I love the sound of water running but that may get expensive.

We stayed in unit 114 and was amazed that it had everything we could ask for. It was a ground floor unit overlooking the ocean and 20 feet from the sand. We could laze on the balcony or use the provided deck chairs and sit on the beach. The house pool was also 20 feet away. Beach towels were provided. The unit was well equipped with all the cooking utensils and condiments you would need. The bedding was very comfortable, even the fold out sofa, with quality bedding. A great place to stay and enjoy Maui

We loved opening the doors and having our condo extend to the ocean, stepping out for our morning swim, and morning coffee. Fabulous views, sunsets, sunrise glows, location in the complex, location in Maui, and amenities. We hope to return again and again. Joan was easy to work with and very responsive.
