Very nice place with everything we needed for our stay. Great location in Kailua. The bikes available for use was great - 5 minute ride to the beautiful beach. We would definitely stay again.

This was a lovely studio. Full kitchen with lots of pots, pans, tool and even some key condiments and salt,pepper, etc. from prior guests which I used happily. Also, it was very nice to see Suzanne's art embedded in the studio (bath sink, shower tiles, etc.) with both big and small pieces to take home. Great wifi, parking, access. Due to rain and my schedule I never got to use the pool and spa tub, but it looked inviting. One note: I am short; this room is styled for tall. I literally used a stool to get into the bed, and my feet did not touch the floor well at table, so I was not able to sit long at the table for the computer work I needed to do, so went out to forage for coffee shops/library to work. Next time I will just go to the nearby GoodWill and buy a more comfy (for me) desk/table chair.

Accommodations were clean with extra amenities that made our stay extraordinary, the area was charming with many eateries and quaint shops, and the hostess was very quick to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for your hospitality and for being a part in making our trip perfect! We would definitely stay again when we come back.

This studio is adorable, but there are some things you should know. It is connected to a house. You hear other renters of the larger, beautiful house running, talking, stomping, etc. There is no air conditioning in the studio and no cross breeze. Also, the reason that the owner says that the studio sleeps more than 2 people is because there is a loft. The loft is uninhabitable. It was so incredibly hot and it is a pull-down attic ladder. Plus, when you are in the loft there is a huge hole. We thought we would have our 5 year-old son (who is a great, adventurous climber) sleep in the loft. There is a huge open drop-off on to a concrete floor, no railing around the stairs (ladder) at all. There is no way any responsible parent of a child under 15 would utilize this loft. Due to this, I (the mom) tried to sleep up there on the first night of our arrivale and it was hideous. On the same note, we have friends who offered to let us stay in their Kailua vacation house that had a swimming pool. We declined (due to the swimming pool) since our son loves the water and I just didn't want to worry about our little guy venturing out while I was in the shower or whatever. When we arrived at the studio, we were shocked to find that there was a swimming pool in the backyard, with no gate or barrier and the owner left written instructions that WE could not use the pool. So... explain that to a 5 year old! The fact that a swimming pool was on the premises was not disclosed anywhere in the reviews or the descriptions. We stayed in this studio for 8 nights and none of us slept because it was sweltering hot and 3 of us were crammed into the queen-sized bed. If it were not hot and you are 2 people who will just use the studio as a place to sleep, it would be delightful. The art and decor are beautiful and it is close to town and just a few minutes drive to the beach.

Thank you Susanne for accomodating us at the last minute. The studio is lovely. It is docorated so nicely with a wonderful bathroom and shower and well appointed kitchen. It was very peaceful and quite. We fell in love with your house and neighborhood. We enjoyed your beautiful art work. It was so nice to have use of bikes, boards, chairs, washer and dryer and everything else. We hope to return.

If you lose the address of this rental, don't despair...just look for the most beautiful house on the street! I spent a month in this airy, light and balanced studio (with loft) and had a great deal of difficulty to leave because I was so extraordinarily comfortable. The space has a very high slanted ceiling which gives a lot of breathing room, yet the slant provides a cozy chalet-like feeling. The color schemes are earthy, cheery tones of muted yellow, orange, beige and brown and offer a subtle backdrop for the owner's original art. There's ample storage space for clothes and luggage. The bathroom is roomy and its gorgeous shower makes you feel like you're at a spa. As for the bed...it is sooooo comfortable. I haven't slept so well in over twenty years!! Seriously!! The pillows and linens are top quality and you can sleep all night undisturbed until morning. The fact that the neighborhood has no noise helps too. Susanne is the perfect host: there to help you in any way she can, but respecting your privacy enough to make you feel you are really in your own home. The fact that she lends her washer and dryer freely is a real bonus too. Kailua town and the beach are walking distance and you're a quick drive over to Honolulu or up to the North Shore. I highly recommend this rental and will definitely be returning myself!!

Dear Susanne, We had a very early flight to catch, so thought we'd leave you this note. Your studio is amazing and made our stay in Hawaii so enjoyable. We loved your artwork so much I hunted some down at Island treasures in town. The bed up on the mezzaine level is really comfy- I used one of the lamps from downstairs. We had to leave some food behind & alcohol- wasn't sure what to do with it. If any of our friends ever make it to Hawaii, I'll definitely be telling them to stay here!
