Kids loved the chicken. Enjoyed the sun room. Close to the bridal vail fall.

Peaceful and stunning rural views. Remote. Not so good as a base if weather wet/ windy unless happy to curl up with a book. Not a base for gourmet cooking..fine if you are happy to bbq or microwave food ..funky separate cabin for dining and the bbq.

Our stay at Te Mata Rural Escape was perfect - the living space was spacious and well-appointed and maintained. The separate glass enclosed dining area, with grill and other cooking areas, was wonderful for lovely evening meals in the quiet beauty of the countryside. Michael was a gracious, generous, and helpful host, and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. My family and I highly recommend this property and exploring the town of Raglan and amazing nearby beaches.

We stayed for three nights and had a great time - the location is amazing with great views and very clean, nicely appointed accommodation - the outdoor dining area was an extra plus!
Mike and Kate are great hosts, allowing us our space, but also good, friendly, easy to get along with people. Thoroughly recommend staying here :)

An isolated but stunningly situated property near enough to the town of Raglan with its beaches and amenities. The accommodation is a wing of the owner’s house but sufficiently private.

Mike and Kate are great hosts. They're very kind and offered us carrots and courgettes from their garden which we appreciated. They've made a fantastic job of decorating the sun room which was a nice place to have a BBQ and to dine. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. My daughter loved the chickens and was even allowed to pick one up. Not too far from the bridal veil falls and windmills (5 minutes away) and Raglan was a 15-20 minute drive away. Fantastic views and beautiful sunsets. It's a country paradise.

Fantastic quiet getaway. Beautiful surroundings and has everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. Kid friendly and lovely covered in outdoor kitchen/ dining.
Highly recommend and will stay here again if we get the chance. Great hosts.

Really wasy orocess of booking and checking on fron the outset. Host was good at keeping in touch and very helpful. The accommodation is slightly remote, but adds to the appeal. Kids loved it and we all got a really good chance to turn off and relax. Would recommend

We had a great stay at Michael and Kate's property. It was clean, comfortable and quiet, and in a handy location to check out the surrounding area. Michael and Kate were great hosts and went the extra mile to help us when we had a flat tyre. Thanks for a great stay.

Peaceful and picturesque. You are literally on top of a hill and look down over fields. The accomodation was spacious and felt like new. The separate kitchen was definitely a highlight. It had heaps of character and was an amazing experience to just sit and have dinner looking over the pastures. The host, Mike called me earlier to tell me about road conditions and was there to greet and give a tour of the place. He was a really nice guy to have a chat with. Highly recommend this place.

Raglan getaway
Wonderful stay in such a picturesque spot. Thoroughly enjoyed the rural setting with spectacular sunsets. Kate and Mike were very welcoming and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay (the sunroom was an added bonus!) Would definitely go back.

The place is more suited for shorter stays, but we still very enjoyed our week there, exploring more than just Raglan. The host is very friendly and happy to help with any issues or to share a tip about the local area.

Warm welcoming hosts, lovely modern accommodation with outdoor dining (Pizza Oven and BBQ) Option - a lovely short drive to Raglan - with stunning views. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Te Mata Retreat
We loved our little weekend getaway here! You feel like you are on the top of the world! The hosts were super friendly and helpful, the place was immaculately presented and warm and accommodating. And the views are amazing. It's a very relaxing place to stay.
Our kids loved feeding the lamb and the goat and running around outside, and it's just a short drive into Raglan town. Highly recommended!

View away on the hill
Had a brilliant couple nights at Te Mata. The view from up on the hill was brilliant and being so close to Raglan was a big plus. The home was very comfy and the cookout was a special treat for us! Would defiantly come back again for a visit.

Was an amazing view the owners were lovely
I loved my time at te mata it was amazing the accommodation was clean and very nice the views from outside our room were great and the beach is not for which was handy the owners of the accommodation were lovely thanks again me and my partner had a lovely time :)

The Queen's Birthday in Te Mata
This was our second visit to Mike's property which goes to show what a great place we think it is to stay. The views are fantastic rain or shine, and the accommodation warm and comfortable. Thanks again Mike!

Great base to explore the Raglan area
The house is a great base to explore the area. It was comfortable and spacious enough for a family of 5. The place is sparkling clean, sunny and very well set up. The sunroom with large table and BBQ is a great bonus are were the passion fruit from the garden. Bridal Veil Waterfalls are just around the corner (short drive). We would definitely stay there again. Great house, very friendly hosts - we had a great stay. Thank you!
