The house is just simply AMAZING. The host is great, the beds are great, the shower is great. Just a great place! Would stay here every year! The views ara awesome, the pool is nice, the garden is a joy. Excellent location. And the host Julia, is the best and sweetest host we ever had.

Our stay was too short.

We enjoyed the house and facilities. We enjoyed the beach and pool and the beautiful views from the lounge.

Although the house is beautiful and spacious, IT IS NOT KID FRIENDLY AT ALL. The pool is not safe for kids as it only has a 1 step and and after that it is almost 2m deep so kids can not enjoy the pool. There is also no other activities for kids to do other than going to the beach which is 10-15min walk. Furthermore, the premises is situated in a residential village and very close to the neighbour's so they can hear everything you do at the house. Since day 1 when we arrived we were told that we can't make a noise or speak loud because of the neighbour's, We also could not swim late than 8pm because we would make a noise (Again not child friendly) We were on holiday but we felt that we needed to be mute all day because of the neighbour's calling or complaining to the host Julia and she would then come around to us or call and ask if that's the case. We honestly felt we could have stayed at home rather than being treated like prisoners.Our kids did not enjoy it at all as we constantly had to tell them to keep mute because we afraid that the neighbors would complain even. that's not nice especially being on holiday and wanting to have a good time. We also advised Julia about the television that didn't work in the lounge as well as the rooms..She then asked me to ask my husband to have a look which I think those things need to be checked n be ready when guest arrive. Julia is an awsome host however pricacy needs to be given to guest we felt that she invaded our privacy by rocking up at the place during our stay because of what neighbors were apperantly saying however like I said most of our holiday we felt unwelcome and not happy. We spent 3 nights but couldn't wait to check out hence we left at 6am in the morning.

Great views of the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve to the left and the sea in front from the deck outside. Lovely pool. 15min walk to the beach through pleasant path off the main road. Fully functioning kitchen plus restaurants and deli in the village. House is very spacious and clean and all to yourself. Nothing to fault. Host Julia was welcoming and full of useful info. WiFi works well.

Wish we had booked for a longer stay!

Upon arrival the hostess gave us a tour of the entire property which we really loved and appreciated, (We hope she gets a nice little raise for that).The pictures cannot do any justice of just how amazing and huge the property really is. Our friends and family were able to visit us as well with no hassle at all.

What's not to like, it's a perfect stay!

Beautiful house! Views are great, everything we needed was there to use, the rooms were clean and tidy, really nice bathrooms, amazing kitchen, really love the deck table outside. The whole place has a very homey and cosy vibe.

This was a self catering stay, so that rating will not be applicable and my wife may be upset with what I say. The location is wonderful. Really, we were super happy. Safe and peaceful walk to the beach which was like our own little private location. Wildlife was to be seen all around as it borders the Cape Point Nature reserve. The town is so small that the peace was amazing. There was also so much in relatively close driving distance to see, so the proximity was certainly ideal for a peaceful stay with access to all the major site seeing areas.

Well, we cant change some things, and I guess the main road through Scarborough is right in front of the property. That is only really an issue worth worrying about when you have small kids who can roam this kind of town freely and safely but they must navigate the main road. Having said this, the main road sees something like a vehicle every minute at its peak so that puts perspective to my "complaint"

We loved verything about Shutters on Hilltop. The location is wonderful - walking around Scarborough and down to the beach along the reserve was lovely and easily accessible from the property. The house itself is beautiful, and has everything you could want. We enjoyed the fireplace, as well as the balcony with the beautiful view. It felt as if the owners really thought through the comfort and convenience of their guests. Julia was very warm and welcoming, and was extremely helpful if we had any questions or needed anything. She also gave us important information beforehand to make our stay more enjoyable. All round lovely place, thank you.

The host Julia was very helpful and attentive. She made the checking in and out very easy and smooth as possible. The outdoor area is to die for unfortunately the weather was a bit to cold to swim in that beautiful pool but was pleasant to look at while enjoying the outdoor area. We loved the indoor fireplace for the cold mornings and nights to chill around. The rooms were very comfortable. We loved absolutely everything about the home and thanks to Julia for going the extra mile and providing extra items like candles and flash lights in each room.

Everything you see in these reviews is absolutely true. This place is so gorgeous with fantastic views. It is very private which we love. The host has thought of every last detail and super friendly and helpful(Dalene). Love this venue and will be back!!!

Pool is not child friendly And didn't heat up

Superb location. Communication was with our host was excellent and super accommodating with our check in and check out times. I couldn't recommend the house, location or our host enough! Thank you for a memorable stay.

Scarborough is an amazing town, the locals are friendly and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The house was perfect. All that we needed was there. It was clean, comfortable and just a dream.
