Jen was a great host! She gave us amazing recommendations and helped us plan our days during our stay. Her inn was full of thoughtful touches, and her breakfasts were creative and delicious! Would highly recommend staying at Black Walnut Inn!

Everything about our stay at Black Walnut was very enjoyable. This is a beautiful and lovingly restored old house and every detail is intentional. Jen is an absolute legend and was not only super friendly but made really excellent breakfast (very delicious and with local ingredients) and gave us recommendations that were spot-on. We also appreciated having the modern comforts of multiple streaming services and reliable Wifi. The back garden is also gorgeous. Even the cat was friendly. All in all, it was everything you'd want in a bed-and-breakfast.
The walls/doors are a bit thin, but that's just the nature of a very old house. The other guests were also quiet so it wasn't an issue for us.

It was such a comfortable stay in a quaint, old house. The accommodations were lovely and Jen was a wonderful host, which really made the difference. She paid extra attention to the things that mattered. Very comfortable and clean bed, great breakfast and coffee, and was knowledgeable about the area and wine. Jen really makes a conscious effort to accommodate each guest. Even plenty of streaming options, she thinks of everything.
If I was trying to find something, I’d say the shower was a little small. However the bathroom itself was very spacious, so it really wasn’t an issue and I’d expect that in an older home anyways.

We loved our stay, the owner Jen was personally & enthusiastically involved in every aspect of our stay. She took care to address every question and item with such a caring touch we left knowing we simply Must go back! Major kudos!
The house has been carefully renovated since Jen acquired the property just before the pandemic but the grounds and gardens are next on the list. Still aesthetically pleasing but an opportunity for improvements. We look forward to going back to see first hand what happens next!

Quaint, clean and awesome location. Love the historical aspects of the home and the charm. Felt very much like home and visiting family. Jen was extremely attentive and super friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay

Jen the Innkeeper is delightful. She can offer a wealth of knowledge about the region. I got the maximum out of my stay because of her great recommendations. Her breakfasts are delicious and only topped by her warm hospitality.
Because the AC in the window, I could hear every car driving by. Take along ear plugs.

Had a great stay. Room was comfortable, spacious and clean and Jen treated us like family. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and she even went above and beyond to send us off with blueberry muffins our last morning when we left before breakfast. Oh and the coffee was delicious! Highly recommend!

Jen, the homeowner, was absolutely lovely. Wonderful home, accommodations and hospitality. I would, without a doubt, stay again at her B&B and hope to do so again in the future. Highly recommended for those taking in the vineyards, breweries, hiking/waterfall opportunities or even during visits to see kids at college in Ithaca.

Amazing Host Jen! Her breakfast served is delicious and she puts a lot of effort in it. Such a lovely host and is ready with recommendations if needed to help enhance the trip and the experience. The location is also ideal to visit both Cayuga and Seneca, with Seneca being a 15 minute drive. Also close to Trumansburg which has pizza and other food and drinks options. The property is historic and is therefore old, so expect a charming quaint stay. If you don't like old properties then you might be disappointed with this. But no disappointment here for us and would definitely come back to stay. Thank you Jen!

Hospitality was fantastic. Clean and quiet room. Perfect breakfast with good company. Suggestions of things to do and explore in the lakes. Location is just what u need on the lakes !

We loved staying at this Bed and Breakfast. Our host provided us a five star homemade breakfast each morning.
Jen also provided so many wonderful tips and places for the area. We loved staying here and hope to return in the future.

Jen our host at Black Walnut gave us a list of excellent places to eat at during our stay and in the future. The breakfasts were exceptional! Bedroom was cozy and comfortable.

Jen the owner was the best! Very friendly and engaging, she made us feel welcome and “at home” from the start. Her knowledge of the area and recommendations were very helpful. And what delicious breakfasts she prepared for us. Jen is a 5-star B&B owner!!

Location was great for getting to wineries at both Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake. The owner Jen was very friendly, knowledgeable about the local area, and an excellent cook. Top notch fresh ingredients for our breakfasts! Our room was very clean and comfortable. She even has Hulu and Netflix on the TV.
