Miller's Whimsy is an old-style cottage that is a comfortable stay with plenty of space. The location is amazing - we were able to walk to eat, to go the boardwalk, and were mere steps from the beach. The management did a great job of ensuring we had all the information we needed and who to call if we needed their help.

It was the perfect place for my family. Plenty of room to cook and eat as well as space to spread out and enjoy time alone or with the whole group. We loved being within walking distance of resturants, coffee shops, the boardwalk, and of course our private walkway to the beach.

This was a very nice way to spend our family Thanksgiving. The oceanfront access was great. We enjoyed our time here and it went by too fast. The house was comfortable and met our needs. Hoping to possibly re-visit. Thank you!

I would put this rental on the top 3 of my stays at Carolina Beach! The house has a good floor plan with lots of useable room for the 12 people it advertises being able to accommodate. The kitchen is big and well stocked, the sun room is a nice amenity for the cold/rainy days at the beach and it has a nice view of the beach. The house comes with a garage, but it will not house an SUV or truck- it will garage a smaller car such as a sedan without a roof rack. Thankfully, there are paid parking spots about 30 yards away and they are reasonably priced if you have oversized vehicles. I will be booking this unit next year, it is the full package!

Our priorities were met with this well-loved beach house: Private beach access - check! Enough bedrooms for our teenagers to have their own space - check! In close proximity to local Wilmington relatives (so we could invite them to the beach and a dinner or two) - check! Bonus features we very much enjoyed: a 6min walk on the beach from house to Boardwalk for eating, shopping, skimboard rental, arcade, live music, and Thursday fireworks; a billiard table in the basement/garage for some friendly competition; outside hose and area for rinsing off sand; and a quick drive to grocery, seafood market, and other stores. Some information that would have been helpful before our arrival/for planning purposes: the height of the garage door openings is 67" tall and the hard fin antennae of a smaller vehicle barely fit, as we had some trouble (measure the height of your vehicle ahead of time and letting air out of tires helps). Also, we ended up not needing the sleep sofa, but we did pull it out one night for consideration - and there are several springs broken at the foot that makes it slope downwards and the mattress is more like a thin pad than a mattress. Anyone planning to use this for their headcount may want to know its condition. The house is full of books and board games for lots of family fun. The updated kitchen (new to the listing we saw) was bright and clean and had lots of counter space and cabinets and a large supply of plates/utensils/bowls/platters/pots and pans - we were not in need of anything. The huge table (sat 10 people) was great for meals and games. We had a wonderful stay and appreciated the owners' responsiveness to any/all of our texts and questions throughout our stay.

This house is absolutely perfect! It has been updated from the pictures you see. This house has tons of room and everything you need and is very comfy and convenient! I hope we get to stay here again soon, we will miss this! Best vacation I've had in so long! No complaints here!

Our kids and gr’kids had a great time here, right on the beach and so close to everything in Carolina Beach! Several times during the week, we mentioned how glad we were in a house all to ourselves and not one of the “cookie-cutter” condos around us. The house was a lot more personal and accommodating than any hotel room and we had plenty of space (both floors) inside and outside on the spacious deck. Even the bit of rain didn’t dampen our spirits as we enjoyed playing some of the games stacked up on the library bookshelves. We also had fun with the pool table downstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed and lots of room for several of us to be in there at the same time. We kept the sand outside by utilizing the shower head and hose before re-entering the house. That was greatly appreciated! The 4 bedrooms and bathrooms gave everyone their own private space as needed, and the sunroom and deck outside provided even more space to spread out. The owners were easy to contact and stayed in touch in case we had any issues (we didn’t). Overall, we would definitely book Miller’s Whimsy upon a return trip to Carolina Beach!

Had a great time. The house was very clean. There were some upgrades to the property since the pictures. Close to the heart of the beach amusements. Just a short walking distance away. Would definitely recommend.

The place we stayed was very nice. We had one beach day before the rain settled in for the rest of our stay. The property was right on the beach and very close to everything. We would definitely stay again.

The property suited exactly what we needed. It is not fancy, but serves it's purpose. A cost effective, ocean front property in a perfect location!

Fully stocked, wonderfully cozy, beach access can't be beat. This house is so nice that we've booked it twice!

This was a lovely home for my extended family (11 total people). The adults slept upstairs and the kids, downstairs. The kids loved having their own space! We adored the home’s unique decor. It didn’t feel like the typical cut and paste VRBO property. There were plenty of dishes and appliances to make any meal. There was also an amazing stash of toys and beach equipment in the garage. The hosts replied quickly to any questions or issues we had. The best part was that the hosts found and reserved a beach wheelchair for my mother who has MS. We will definitely stay again!!!

The property provided everything we needed to make our stay easy. Location was great. I would stay there again. They even allowed us to check in early.

if you want a slick, modern decore kind of setting, this place is not for you. But if you enjoy a comfy, spacious and clearly family beach house, this one fits the bill. The kitchen is the best supplied of any we have ever stayed in. The large dining room table allowed us all to gather together for supper each evening and linger for conversation in comfort. There is a library of books, dvds, a box of kids toys, puzzles and games upstairs and lots of beach gear downstairs, We could get all the vehicles in the garage and parking under the house. One thing that worked well for us is that the downstairs is seperated from the upstairs and allowed us grandparents to retire with the youngest grandkids downstairs while the older kids and our adult children could visit upstairs. The downstairs bedrooms are not as well decorated as the upstairs and the bathroom is not close to the bedrooms. But the price is good and the beach is just out the door. We had a great vacation visit there.

We we’re disappointed some of the pots and pans were dirty when we got them out to use them. The chairs out on the deck were in poor condition. The things that we were told we could take down to the beach umbrellas, chairs and boogie board we’re broken. On the day that we left we were told to take the sheets off the bed but leave the comforter and the mattress pad on the bed and the mattress pads were stained in several places they did not look like they had been washed.

First let me say, the location desires 5 stars because location means a lot! To be steps away from the beach was great. However because of a few things I can't give 5 stars. The parking for 4 vehicles worked out great. Two cars in the garage and two outside, one point. The house was great upstairs! Thank you for the note about the oven's function issues, we never used it. Nevertheless the space was enough for all of us but downstairs didn't work for our family at all. Nor was it like it appeared in the pictures that were posted online. The deck was a great spot to sit and eat or just relax. But the boardwalk leading to the beach is in need of a lot of love and attention. Fortunately after being given instructions our little ones did good walking on it. Also, the landscaping around the house along the sidewalks and the steps leading up to the front door over hangs the walk-way, which we had to duck and dodge when using them. The family/company contact and keeping us updated on everything including the space being available an hour early for check-in meant a lot and was great. Would I stay here again...I would. Being a family that knows how to adjust and adapt we made it work and had a wonderful time making memories.

We loved our stay, the house was perfect for a large family. We loved the private boardwalk to the beach, the house had so many amenities, kids toys for the beach, beach chairs, well stocked kitchen & board games. The decor was beachy and fun. We would definitely rent this house again, our youngest son wants to move in permanently :)

We (10 ladies) had a perfect Girls Weekend Getaway. Miller's Whimsy was a great home to accommodate our large group of ladies. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of anything you would need. The living and dining room is large enough for all of our group. The Sunroom was our favorite especially the first full day as the weather didn't cooperate for a day on the beach. We got to the enjoy the great view. The private boardwalk was a short walk to the beach where we spent most of our daytime hours. The "Surfer Room" downstairs was almost like a separate apartment and having an extra refrigerator, mini refrigerator and a bathroom down there was an added bonus. Our biggest issue on our trips is finding a place that has extra parking since we come from many different locations. We had ample parking for 4 cars but we did read all the parking instructions before hand so knew that SUV's would not fit in the garage (low profile cars only) and planned the vehicle situation accordingly and it all worked out great. It is an older home but that wasn't an issue for us at all. A bit better deck chairs is the only thing that was missing. We will be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We have stayed at Carolina Beach many times and this is a wonderful location. Far enough from Boardwalk to not have noise/issues but within 5 minute walking distance to enjoy conveniently. Having your own beach access and going out on the beach with open beach in front of your property is priceless. Plenty of space for large groups. Lots of beach toys and chairs, which is nice. Our kids loved the games as well. Many TVs for everyone to watch individual shows/movies on rainy days throughout the house. Also, 4 full bathrooms to choose from means no one is waiting to get ready. Love the sunrooms! Had a wonderful stay! I Trip offered lots of communication and was readily available if needed. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time! The beach was perfect! The house felt like home and was perfect for our style! The kids loved the back deck!

Property had a homely feel to it. It was in a wonderful location, walking distance to everything. We really enjoyed the lay out and decor of the home. Would definitely stay again & highly recommend!

Our stay was great! ITrip people we’re very accommodating and helpful. The rental property was clean and starting supplies were very helpful. The house was how old & in need of some repairs and updates. But, we had a group of men and it supplied our needs and the price was good.

It was very relaxed and comfortable. The home was lovely.

We had a wonderful time this weekend at Millers Whimsy! The check in was painless. There were plenty of linens and we really enjoyed the board games and beach chairs and toys! If you need lots of space and do not require high maintenance to have a good time at the beach, this place is great. Very convenient location and very spacious. Functional and charming. The beach was beautiful, very nice dune. Private and quiet. Off season the food and shops are still good.
