We had a lovely weekend at Marmot Lodge. The lodge was well equipped and very comfortable, in a beautiful setting. David was easy to communicate with, although he did send out a rather long document and intimidating list of "house rules" prior to the weekend which unfortunately put the group on edge prior to what was a lovely weekend away. All of his requests were reasonable, but the tone was not appreciated. Perhaps a more welcoming tone may be appreciated by future groups?

This house had lots of rooms and plenty of beds. It’s was highly functional and the entertainment area and kitchen were well suited to our group. Lots of pantry space.
Best showers I’ve ever had on a holiday destination.
Drying room worked well and the games room was a nice place for the kids and adults to chill.
The bunk beds were high with no rails so not suitable for our 8 year olds and under. There were lots of stairs but not an issue for our kids who were over 2 years old. The Staircases in the two mezzanine rooms to the single beds were incredibly steep and suited to a teenager at a minimum.
Dave was pleasant and helped out when required.

We recently stayed here for a snow trip and the property was perfect for us. We had about 18 adults & a few children and the house accommodated everything we needed. Dave was quick to respond to any questions I had and will definitely look to book again in future. Thank you, Dave for allowing us to stay in your beautiful property! Look forward to booking again with you!

A very well equipped, warm and inviting place to stay in the middle of Winter. Easy access to the lovely town and river walks. Comfortable and peaceful rooms with great views of the bush all round. Wifi would be a useful addition, especially to keep up to date with changing Covid rules etc.

Excellent overall
Dave was great to deal with, the house was in a great location. We had a large group of 24, 12 adults and 12 children and there was ampol space for everyone.

Amazing wonderful stay
Thank you to Dave and his family for creating a truly amazing home and lodge in Harrietville for others to stay in. It is perfect for 2-3 families or a group of friends to find some time to rest, recover, and reconnect. We had a chance to walk around Tronnah Lake, visit the trout farm, sample the culinary delights of both pubs, and the delicious goods from the bakery (highly recommend the vanilla slice and lamb and rosemary pie). Dave, we are indebted to you for creating this special place and look forward to staying there again as soon as possible.

Covid-19 threw up its share of issues for us, as we were the first post-pandemic booking, but Dave couldn't have been more helpful, with frequent contact, a spotless property and plenty of useful advice. Its a very relaxing place, both the property and Harrietville, and we had a lovely family reunion. We will return!

Everything about this 50th birthday weekend was wonderful. David and Nikki were really easy to deal with, we had everything we needed and everyone had a great time. A beautiful setting and the perfect place for a special celebration!

Great venue for a group
Dave was very helpful, met us literally at the door, the place is well-laid out, particularly after Dave installed a wall that cuts down noise between the family and games room and the rest of the house. We’ll be back!

great house for a group; cosy bedrooms (loads of beds!); generous amount of wood provided for the lovely central fireplace; beautiful location; helpful and generous hosts.

Family retreat
A fabulous place to cater for a family get-to-gether. Comfortably fit 11 adults and 7 kids (ranging from 4yrs to 10 yrs). Yes there were stairs but we just put the little kids on the bottom floor. Games room was great to keep the kids (and big kids) entertained. Enough bathrooms for everyone. Kitchen was big enough and well stocked. The fire kept everyone very warm in the winder weather. The owners were very helpful and accomodating with anything we required.

We had a wonderful time in the Lodge. The only problem we encounted were the number of stairs not mentioned - rather tricky when we had 8children, mainly under the age of 2! Wasnt as relaxing as all parents had hoped.
