Clean, comfortable room. Easy to locate. Easy parking. Great communication with Cynthia! Breakfast spread was amazing! Bath towels soft and fluffy! Excellent value for the cost!

Great place. That was our best stay in Alaska. Beautiful two piece room, gives a feeling of privacy, though close to Denali and all the attractions there. Just half an hour drive.

Too bad you don’t let the bad comments come through or call customers back when they have questions with health concerns at your facility.

Accommodation in the north is very expensive and I booked this place knowing that it was off the highway and 30 minutes from the Denali visitor center. Room was adequate.

Be prepared to be in a location near an industrial facility with nothing else nearby. I saw the host briefly on check in and then never again - she does not live onsite and there was no emergency number. Breakfast first day was a selection of high sugar packaged pastries and weak lukewarm coffee. There was no breakfast available the second day. If you stay here, bring your own food and beverages (room has fridge and microwave). Understand that the town of Cantwell has nothing available and you will have to drive some distance. The local gas station sells gas at about 1.00 USD per gallon more expensive than if you get it elsewhere.

Nice and quiet location, super clean room, welcoming owner

The room was very nice and roomy with the single bed. I had plenty of room for all of my things. There were multiple breakfast options each morning! It was nice having my own bathroom and shower as well. I would stay here again!

It's a little bit of a drive each day to get to/ from the park, but I think it was worth the money I saved staying in Cantwell.

Excellent Breakfast, close to Denali

Location near Denali was excellent, room was surprisingly clean, comfortable, and modern. Breakfast was great! Excellent altogether for the price.

Didn't have access to staff.

Good value. Good distance to the Denali National Park, we can get to the park as early as possible. Also, we had five people traveling, the additional separate bedroom was convenient.

We stayed at the Cantwell Lodge for 3 nights and liked our stay. The owener is nice, friendly and very helpful. breakfast was fine too. It's located in an area where The Northen Lights are seen !! It's an excellent place to stay in, when visiting Denali park.

I did not downgrade my overall rating of this property as I am hoping the poor experience described below was a one off. However, we (my husband & I and another couple; who booked their room separately) were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that less than 48 hours prior to our flight to Alaska (3 days before our check in), we received notice that the on property saloon, bar and grill WOULD BE CLOSED during our stay. THIS was the reason we selected this property so we could eat and drink on site and not have to worry about driving anywhere. The message said the closure was due to "waiting for a part for a vital piece of kitchen equipment" so we were disappointed, but assumed they had an unexpected appliance breakdown which could not be avoided. HOWEVER, when we got to the property, there was a sign posted (see attached image as evidence) giving notice that JULY 30TH!! would be their last day yet still had a blow out/end of year party just prior to our arrival! This means that a decision was made MORE THAN 18 DAYS prior to either the property notifying Booking.com or Booking.com notifying us and that it was not for the reason communicated. Our group felt the delay was intentional to discourage rebooking - which we would have explored had we known of the closure sooner. FURTHER, the alternative dining options were NOT comparable (i.e. food truck, no alcohol...). We travel a lot and use booking.com, airbnb, vrbo, travelocity and other travel sites and have NEVER EXPERIENCED this type of deception in not informing us timely of the property's decision to close key parts of their facility. Although we enjoyed our time (thanks to a friendly host and time spent with good friends in an amazing state), it was not what we paid for and we certainly hope that some financial consideration is provided to make a good faith attempt to rectify the mishandling of our booking. Absolutely beautiful location

We booked months in advance and were told the restaurant was closed a few days before our stay which is fine but got there and saw the restaurant was actually closed since the summer and the restaurants in town we were told were available were closed for the season as well. The bar was also closed and there was no staff on location. There was railroad construction going on literally right outside our door both days. There were signs around the building that the lodge was closing permanently in the middle of our stay. I wish we would have known this so we could have made other arrangements, we were really looking forward to having a beer after hiking and not having to eat gas station food for two days. The room was comfortable but small, the heat didn't work so we ended up having to use a space heater. The breakfast offered was a mix of breads and snacks a lot of which was expired. It was a beautiful location and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights but it was an odd/uneasy experience. It's a bummer it's closing and we weren't able to truly experience how fun the placed seemed to once be.

Amazing view from the door of our room. The room was comfortable and clean. The lodge offered friendly service as well. I think most of the staff introduced themselves to us the first night making us feel like we have friends in Cantwell. I would not hesitate to book the Cantwell Lodge again!
