This is a darling cabin! Evie has decorated it to feel comfy and homey, with a well-equipped kitchen. As noted in their Listing, there is no TV or Wi-Fi... but we did get a weak cell signal. Bring your iPod and plug into the Bose speaker provided, which has great sound! The cabin is located 20 kms west of Golden.... so not close enough to head into town for the evening.... but nicely removed from traffic, just a couple of kms off the Hwy. If using both bedrooms, note that the loft upstairs is accessed by a ladder (so plan on coming down the ladder in the night, if you need to use the washroom) The foam mattresses on both beds were comfy, but a bit firm. A 2" memory foam on top of each mattress would make a big difference, for those of us that like a bit softer bed! If you are looking for peace and quiet, and to "unplug" for a day or a few days, you will love this cabin! The deck out back is a really nice feature, overlooking the woods! Communication with the owners was excellent, and the pre-arrival emails from Chad were very helpful. We gave it 4 stars instead of 5, mostly because of the comfort level of the mattresses, and because the ladder to the loft was a bit of a challenge in the night. Linda & Willie - Salmon Arm BC

We really loved the Bison cabin. It’s a style of cabin we have always dreamed of having, so it was super fun to stay. It was cozy and clean and we actually enjoyed unplugging for a few days. The kids didn’t even complain about the lack of screen time 😊 thank you for your lovely cabin.

2 years in a row we stayed at the cabin as a base for skiing trip to Revelstoke and Golden. We enjoy very much our stay, and we recommend this place.

The family and I stayed for 4 night over New Years and had a great time. Had all the right amenities and was very peaceful.

We were amazed by the quality and thoughtful ess of the furniture and decor. Everything we needed to make us feel comfortable was there. The stove was an excellent source of heat and we were warm on the chilly nights. The cabin is well built and we had no drafts. I can't recommend this high enough! Thank you Evie and Chad!

We have stayed in our share of cabin properties over the years. This cabin is definitely one of the best I have seen. The cabin is well equipped, very comfortable, exceedingly clean, and is in a very peaceful location. Very eco friendly, as well! We will likely book again if we ever venture that way again. Easy and relaxed.

My friends and I had stayed here over this past Canada Day weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and pleasant stay! Everything about the cabin is well thought out from the fully stocked kitchen to the cream and coffee that is supplied. The beds are incredibly comfy, we had the best night’s sleep! The view of the mountain in the front yard is incredible and we had the best fires under the Milky Way! Couldn’t recommend this place more :)

Owners were very easy to deal with, property was as advertised, nice views, fairly remote location. Firepit is perfectly setup with a large supply of wood facing the mountains. BBQ outside overlooking the forest. The area is very quiet. We went hiking at Thompson Falls (18mins drive, nice hike) as well as visiting Kicking Horse and Golden. Very relaxing stay.

As advertised, very cute and clean cabin arranged with taste. Everything you need is there. Hosts were always available to answer questions. Nice welcome gift of fresh farm cream in the fridge.

A quaint little cabin, prefect for relaxing and reading. Napping and boardgames. We love that there is no wifi, but the cabin is so well appointed and has all the kitchen stuff you’d need for a wonderful vacation. Beds are comfy. Loft is AWESOME for kids to feel they have their own place. Coffee on the balcony is the perfect way to start a morning.

This is the second time there for me. Love the peace and quiet, the cleanliness of the cabin and the beds are divine! It is so cozy and the perfect spot to just gather with friends and enjoy each other in the beauty of the Golden mountains!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could need. There is a light airy feeling to the accomodation and yes, the kids love the "upstairs". Ok the composting toilet is different but makes absolute environmental sense and really there is nothing to get used to. Communication was just amazing with Chad and Evie and they got back to us within minutes of sending a message. They seem an amazing family living in a beautiful part of British Columbia.

We stayed at this absolutely beautiful cabin for 2 nights while driving from Vancouver to Winnipeg. Amazing spot nestled in the mountains. The cabin had everything you could possibly need- so well thought out, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Morning coffee on the deck was amazing. Would love to come back in Winter as I suspect it is even more magical then. Hope to return and highly recommend.

We had a great time at this cozy cabin. Perfect little get away! The place was very clean and well stocked, in a beautiful location surrounded by trees.

My friends and I stayed here when we skied at Kicking Horse and had an amazing stay! Comfy beds, wood stove to keep you nice and toasty, and kitchen was more than adequate to cook our meals. The cabin is about 18km outside of Golden, but it was nice to be a bit secluded and enjoy the views! My only critique would be that the couch has seen a few better days, but would definitely stay here again!

This property is set in a very quiet location surrounded by trees. Great place to go if your wanting to disconnect and truly relax. This cabin has everything you will need. We loved our stay. I would definitely recommend this location.

We recently stayed at this cozy cabin for a ski trip at Kicking Horse. Chad and Evie thought of everything to make it a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean, well stocked and absolutely enchanting. From the front porch piled high with wood for the wood stove, the toiletries, the fresh cream in the fridge and the stocked coffee and tea, they thought of everything! It was quiet and peaceful and the perfect hidden gem for a getaway weekend. They were quick to respond to any questions, and had a binder and small signs clarifying and features needed concisely. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Thanks again!

I cannot say enough about how incredible this gem of place is! Rustic and secluded on the outside but warm, cozy and filled with all the comfort on the inside. It is perfectly located so you feel like you are hiding away but are so close to everything you might need. We hiked, went skiing and just spent some unplugged quality time together. Chad and Evie were amazing hosts (from afar)! I have already referred friends here and cannot wait to sneak back for another getaway.
