Really enjoyed Emerald Key 203! Sat on the balcony and watched the dolfins while we drank our coffee and took photos of great sunrises and sunsets!! We met super nice people and enjoyed how quiet it was. We would rent this condo again and again!!! We did a lot of cooking and would suggest some new frying pans.

This condo overlooks Carlsmith Beach so the ocean sound is a lovely background. Very nice screened lanai above the trees with glimpses of the cove It’s a few blocks out of downtown Hilo so we ended up driving particularly as it rained a lot Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. No AC and no washer/ dryer. The kitchen had adequate pans and dish ware. BUT BE WARNED - there is NOTHING in the way of staples for cooking. No salt or pepper, oil, vinegar, spices,foil, or storage containers. At least 14 coffee cups which I would have traded for something useful. The other major flaw is check in and entry. Directions for entry are confused and contradictory. You need a key for the elevator and only 1 per unit. The lockbox is jammed onto a bar in a dark cabinet with no way to operate it easily. The door code is ridiculous- 10 digits so you have to keep your phone or a slip of paper in your pocket at all times. Could also really use a screen door as the breeze comes from that direction.

We loved the views of the beach so much. They were incredible. We could see the beach, people, clouds, and hear the children laughing. The last Lanai also was perfectly Situated. The only negative was paying VRBO ALMOST $200. I wish we could have booked it through Vacasa instead of wasting that $. Please send us info in doing our vacations directly through your service.

This is a very nice older property. Great location for sight seeing. Beautiful view from bedroom and balcony. Beautiful beach park next door. The VACASA people are wonderful and helped with a couple of minor problems we had. I highly recommend this condo.

This property is in a great out of the way area. There is a great small beach area right next to the property and downtown Hilo is just down the road. We have system in this building before and spotless come back again. It had everything we needed.

It was comfortably furnished, had plenty of kitchen dishes, appliances, cookware, etc. We loved being close to Carlsmith Beach as it was a great place to gather with our family in Hawaii. We found the residents and management at Mauna Loa Shores very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful week in this condo. Very clean and well prepared for us. Fully equipped kitchen and loved the boogie boards provided.

This was a perfect base for our week-long stay in Hilo. Was clean and everything worked in the unit. We enjoyed looking down at the ocean tide pools and "jungle" from our deck and windows. The pool was clean and fun for our 7-year-old daughter. We didn't get much communication from the management company until a couple days prior to our arrival, but then there was a flury of info from them.

It met our needs for our 2 nights stay in the Hilo side. Simple and clean unit. Had all we needed for our short stay. Access to the beach next door,Carlsmith beach park. That’s was the main reason for our stay. The beautiful beach. Till next time,Hilo.

The apartment building is located on the beach with a gorgeous view and very convenient to stay in. This time we are rating this home with 4 stars instead of 5 because we were only given one key to access the elevator when we are two people with different interests at different times. We've been renting vacation homes for years now and always have been given two sets of keys - one for the lockbox and another inside the home. Last year we were given two keys. However, the home was very clean and comfortable to stay in, and would probably come again if we didn't have the key issue.

Access to this area is through an industrial park. The area then becomes a local neighborhood and several wonderful park beaches. The locals set up canopies, prepare food, and really enjoy the beaches. It is a wonderful family atmosphere.

The location of the property lends itself for a peaceful relaxing atmosphere. The views are fantastic and the location to the tide pool type shores is just feet away from the condo. We hope to come again!

Well equipped kitchen, great location, and secure. Living room furniture and bed needs upgraded. No pillows for the second bedroom. Folks upstairs and a child that they let run day and night. Very annoying. Emailed management and never heard from them, disappointing.

Place looks beautiful with that jungle outback only issue is the noisy frogs at night.

This was truly an amazing rental! The location and rental were beautiful! Very family friendly rental, really loved that there were toys for the kids! Thank you for making this rental so great for our kids! They truly enjoyed their time there!

We loved being next door to the beach and the space had everything you need for a perfect vacation!

Property was clean location was fantastic. Pool was older but very well maintained.

Everything was as described and very convenient 10 minutes drive to downtown. We really enjoyed strolling through town and sampling the local wares.

Furniture was worn from lots of use and not all together comfortable.

This is smallish two bedroom condo in a fantastic location just outside of downtown Hilo. Right next to a great swimming lagoon and beach park. Nice views of the ocean as well. Could not of asked for anything better for the two nights we spent in Hilo. It’s not very big, but it works, would book again. The only issue is trying to find your key’s lockbox amongst all the other lockboxes. There has to be a better way!

Enjoyed our stay here. The location is a bit out of town, but the building is quiet and the access to the bay for swimming and snorkeling more than makes up for it. Comfortable furniture and a great screened in lanai (patio).

This property was amazing! Thundering surf just outside lulling us to sleep every night, clean, great security, quiet area. Everything was wonderful!

The building is older but very well maintained. The unit was neat, clean and well appointed. The screened lanai was a real plus, allowing us to eat, relax and watch turtles swim at near-by Carl Smith Beach Park. We enjoyed our stay and will likely return.
