We came to Bass Lake for a wedding, but since it was such a long way (driving from Colorado), we decided to stay a few extra days to go to Yosemite. The home was a restful cozy nest after a bust school year. Thank you!

Perfect location. Home well stocked with more than expected or needed. Sofas were cozy comfy napping or reading places. Our host responded to questions and concerns promptly. Since we were all adults recommend no more than 2 vehicles for parking.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the property but it is worth noting that the second bathroom is located outside the main house in the laundry room which was not appealing to us. It was within walking distance to lake which was great and we loved the projector screen to watch movies at night.

Everyone loved this property. It was beautiful and very clean. The garden was adorable and there was a play yard for children. The hostess thought of everything one could possibly need if forgotten at home. If we ever come here again, we will definitely stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. Home was very clean and showed pride of ownership. Kitchen was well supplied, and plenty of towels/TP, etc. Had a very cute garden and outdoor space that kept our kids busy. Communication with host was excellent. Check-in/out was easy.

This was a great spot of us to start our Yosemite trip. In addition, the adults and kids loved relaxing at the cabin and playing at the lake. Altogether it was a great trip.

The property is pretty clean and the owner is very responsive. It's just a couple of minutes driving to the lake and Oakhurst. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a pleasant stay at the property. The cabin was clean and in a good location. It has one full bathroom, and another half bathroom outside the cabin that is shared by tenants in the first floor; which made it somewhat inconvenient in cold nights.

Our fam of 5 wanted desperately to hide in the mtns like sasquatches per covid guidelines. We brought clothes and food and took advantage of the sless traveled south side of the Yosemite Mtns. The drive was easy and traffic free since it was the southern route away from Yosemite's main entrance and Sac and Tahoe traffic. We sled all day down untouched mtns and came back to a woodstove warm home with boardgames and movie nights and cozy feels. It was splendid and memorable. Thank you!

Place had everything needed. It was perfect to fit our needs.

Spent the weekend here after a significant winter storm in the region. Kids wanted to see and play in the snow and there was plenty of it. The home is very cozy and comfortable. The wood stove kept us warm. The house was fully stocked with blankets, pillows, and towels. Kitchen had everything you need. No need to bring anything up except your clothes and food. Only drawback is parking when there is snow in the area. Spent the first hour there digging out parking spots along the access road as we could not make it up the grade leading up to the house. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was the perfect size for us and clean. The check in process was easy and Nancy was responsive.

This place was great. Nancy was super accommodating with the fires/air quality, and very clear with check-in and check-out instructions. The house was kid-friendly with toys, a swing set, and a projector screen. There was even an apple tree. The place is central to hikes and the lake, and only 20 minutes from the gate at Yosemite. We’ll be back for sure!

This was our first VRBO rental and it was the perfect location for us to visit the park and the surrounding area. House was great and very clean.

Lovely cabin with all the amenities and comfort we wanted after a day in Yosemite or playing in the water. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, stocked pantry, great bbq, and fire pit. We didn't manage to get the projector to play streamed movies smoothly, but that was not a big deal for us - we played board and card games, made s'mores, and read books instead :) The wifi was fast enough for streaming on individual devices, but some devices did not connect to it (did not find it, not sure why). Notably we did not have cellular service at the cabin (and only spotty around the lake) so recommend making sure you have made contact with the owner and everything is clear about check-in before you leave. We made the mistake of assuming the check-in email from vrbo had all the information we needed, which together with a scheduling miss left us locked out and without the ability to get in contact with the owner. Lots of frustration and hours on the phone with vrbo (from a spot by the lake where we had service) finally resulted in that we got in contact with the owners and they turned out to be absolutely lovely, very apologetic, and rushed to our rescue and compensated us well for the mishap. So no shadow falls on them (vrbo could have been clearer in the communications though). Warmly recommend this place for a relaxing home away from home stay at Bass Lake!!

We enjoyed our stay at Sparrow's Rest very much! The attention to detail and well-stocked kitchen had everything we needed to feel at home and comfortable. The garden was beautiful, and the patio area was perfect for enjoying morning coffee, as well as roasting s'mores at night! We had a great experience at Bass Lake and highly recommend this location.

We loved this house! It was perfect for our family! It was walking distance to the lake and great hikes. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit at night. It rained the second night so we stayed in and watched Scooby Doo movie on the projector, which we all thought was super cool! Overall, the best place to stay at Bass Lake!

We spent a few days here after Christmas. The toys in the back were perfect for the kids, they had a blast. Even though we didn’t get any snow, we were only 15 minutes from it so the kids still had a blast. House was spacious, super cute, and had everything we neeeded! Would definitely stay here again.

My sister's families and I celebrated Thanksgiving at Sparrow's Nest and had a wonderful time. The cabin/house is very roomy yet extremely warm and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. Since it was fairly cold and we had 3 days of magical snow, the wood and wood burning stove were greatly appreciated. The house is in a good location, easy to find, and had beautiful views of the snow covered trees. Access to get into the property was easy. The owner was very helpful, thoughtful and quick to respond to any questions we had. Thank you Nancy, we talked about wanting to come back.

Internet was spotty but didn't impact our stay. Swimming hole map was great.

We really enjoyed this cute home. It's the perfect location...minutes to our favorite Bass Lake beach, and close to Oakhurst. Nancy was incredible. Our family of 6 slept easily there. I highly recommend it!

We have been coming up to Bass Lake for years and Nancy's property was one on the best we have stayed in. Clean, roomy, and well equipped. The garden was lovely. Wished we would have been able to stay longer in this gem of cabin! We hope to get back next year!

Me and my husband were very pleased with our stay . The cabin was very beautiful and clean not to mention if you forgot something on your trip Sparrows Rest had our back....... also very kid friendly close to the lake as well as the pines small grocery store . The owners of the home are nice and professional I had absolutely NO problems with communicating with them . Thank you so much again to the owners and I DO HIGHLY recommend this cabin .

The house was just the right size for our family of 6. Beautiful garden, sweet house, nice upgrades. Very enjoyable.

Enjoyed our stay. The backyard area was well maintained and very peaceful. We liked the fire pit and all the available firewood. Good value.

Sparrow’s Rest was our home away from home. It was spacious, clean and very comfortable, from the beds to the sofas. We loved the decor inside and out. Although there were homes right next door, the outside area/garden felt very private and the neighbors were quiet. It was nice to be able to walk to the lake.
