Absolutely beautiful place with everything you could need to self cater

Just a little awkward to find but that’s all

The cottage was so spacious. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We could not have asked for a nicer place. On our arrival we were met by Geoff. He was so friendly and chatty, he even offered to help with our luggage, which I thought was a nice touch We will definitely like to return in the near future.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the cottage.

Beautiful space, so cosy and surrounded by nature in the grounds of a gorgeous house. We loved the huge Beech tree outside the property :) Communication with the host was also great.

Nothing! Thought it was wonderful. It’s worth mentioning that it’s close to quite a busy road, but you can barely hear it when you’re inside (we slept extremely well!)

Genuinly could not fault the place. One of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Just lovely

Warm and friendly hosts, cosy and comfortable a real home from home, well equipped and excellently situated for exploring Somerset and the surrounding area. Comes highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

No welcome pack provided which usually consists of bread, butter, milk etc but wasn't a real issue as there was a shop close by

The property was very spacious, clean and close to the city centre. It was a nice getaway from the busy city life, very relaxing break.

The property was just as in the photos. It was surprisingly warm and cosy despite the snow and cold weather. The bed was really comfortable and the linen and towels a good quality, as was the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. As we previously lived in Taunton and were very familiar with the locale, the accommodation surroundings were as expected: quiet and green.

Despite enjoying the cottage itself, there was a reason I booked Octon Cottage other than its quiet location and this is the reason I would not return. The reason for the visit was to get married and be with our family members who live in Taunton, so I was most upset to learn only after booking, that our children and siblings who had made a special trip for the wedding would not be permitted to visit us on the premises. As this was the biggest deciding factor of us not staying in a hotel or smaller AirBnb I felt very cheated and a bit angry, but luckily we had a wedding to focus on.
