Our family has rented this house on 3 separate occasions over the past several years. The house is very pretty, spacious, well-furnished and appointed. Everything is in good condition, and the property works well for an informal family gathering consisting of mostly retirement-age folks. It is a good location and indeed has a very nice view. My family, in general, are quite pleased with the house and are happy to travel here. Having a town like Yankton nearby is also a plus, providing good retail and lovely city parks, etc. However, I tend to cast a more critical eye. Some additional observations: • The TV continues to be an ongoing source of puzzlement. Even the more tech-oriented younger types can barely get it operating. It took about an hour just to pull up a Monday night football game and the same for a Thursday night football game. If you have something important that you need to be watching, well, best wishes. Or maybe just watch it on your computer. The TV has behaved this way on all three of our visits. • To repeat, the view from the spacious front deck is very nice, but the highway noise doesn’t die off until about 8pm. • Despite attempts to regulate the house temperatures via the dual thermostats, the air conditioner (stubbornly) ran at nights to a temperature of 66 degrees. You could hang salmon in the basement and it would take a few weeks to spoil. If we cant override the programming t

It was absolutely amazing. No complaints from anyone. There was plenty of space and there were numerous compliments on the house , it’s amenities and the view that made the whole experience great. Our own kids would like to come yearly if available. The other extended family would like to come back in a few years and try it again

We had a family get together my son and his family live in Davis SD myself and my sister and our parents all met at this amazing home. Everything was perfect. We have never experienced such a well equipped home. Everything was thought of and more. We enjoyed the view. Had s’mores. The kids saw the turkeys and the deer and they loved playing in the secret room. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Awesome! We had an amazing stay with all family members. This house was the perfect "connector" for a group of 5 different families. We met every morning over coffee and eggs. Each sibling was responsible for a meal during the four evenings and each siblings meal was as unique as they are. It was incredible. We stayed up and talked and played games EVERY Evening and we were up early to ejoy each others company. We had EVERY amentiy we could think of. When we needed something...there is was. No detail was spared. It was a combination of a 5 star hotel, meets the most quaint and intimate bed and breakfast. We are in heaven. This was perfect for a family that has adult children, all busy with their own lives and families, but took the time to relax and enjoy the scenery and the lake and the community. We enjoyed Lake Yankton, and spend two days in the water with our Canoes and paddle boards. Bike Riding every day and games every day. Such a great location. Such a great oasis that allowed this family to truly connect once again.

This was a great property for gathering our family for a special weekend. Spacious, well furnished, convenient, and a lovely view and a comfortable stay for time near Yankton. Although it was not our purpose, this would be a great place for spending time on Lewis & Clark Lake and enjoying the great recreation areas nearby.

Second year staying here as we come to snag, good times as always, hope to be there next year as well

Gorgeous home in an exceptional location! Plenty of space for all of us to spread out and lounge but also gather and reconnect! Genius to have two full floors of living space for various age groups to maneuver, and we spent TONS of time on that beautiful porch enjoying the perfect view! Such easy access to Lewis and Clark Lake and Lake Yankton, too. We had a blast! Highly recommend!

We loved the house and all the rooms. The grandkids loved the secret room!!! It worked good to use the garage for extra people when we ate that stopped byand for grandkids to eat out there if they were messy. I would definitely stay again as soon as we decide on a weekend. Our family traveled to Yankton from Milwaukee- St Paul - Texas to attend a wedding. This rental is perfect allowing us to have space when needed but also gather & enjoy time together. It was our second stay here. Your amenities make it a wonderful place to stay any season!

Can I give this ten stars? Twenty? This is an absolutely beautiful home and was a perfect setting for our family get together. We've stayed in AirBnB and VRBO owner before -- but this was nothing like those experiences. Communication with the host(s) was spectacular, the kitchen was gorgeous and well-appointed, the bathrooms (especially the master) was superb, we had a grill-master cook-off (my brothers still can't decide who won), enjoyed an evening around the fire pit, played a ton of ping pong, had coffee (and cocktails) out on the porch that overlooks the lake and just thoroughly enjoyed our stay & experience. We only had two regrets: 1. At the last moment, one of our families of 4 couldn't make it (COVID) and 2. the reason we were in the area was for an extended family reunion in the area -- so time spent in this beautiful setting was limited. We wished that we could have hosted the reunion in this beautiful space! Highly recommend. We've already discussed meeting here again in the summer months.

This is the second year at this amazing house. We enjoy the space and location. It is close enough for all to come. The owners are helpful and available to us as needs arise. We hope to return.

Five sibs, five spouses....and our second terrific sib reunion at the Lake House. From the bay of San Fransisco, the mountains of Colorado, and the beaches of central Florida, we come to gather with our South Dakota family. The Lake House is the perfect place for us to rest, recharge, share meals, reminisce, tell stories and make new memories as we celebrate our South Dakota heritage. This beautifully maintained, well appointed home with wonderful management has become our favorite place meet!
