Beau house and great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Nauti-Dog house. The location in Salvo is excellent if you're looking for some quiet beach days. It has close access to both sound and ocean beaches that are not very populated while still being close enough to supermarkets and a few restaurants. The Harbor on the property is very scenic and has a wonderful gazebo at the end of the pier overlooking the sound. The sunsets are a great way to end the day here (or from the house deck). The house itself was very clean. The layout was good for large families, being able to be spaced while having room to come together. The big round table in the dining area was great for meals and games. The outdoor shower is great (just remember to bring some soap). The owner's responsiveness to requests was excellent. We had forgot to ask for a pack and play but the owner's were able to track one down and deliver it to us the same night we had arrived.

Absolutely spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable for all ages. We were here with three separate families - five children under ten. It was a great place to be together. Definitely consider this for your OBX vacation!

Dawn and company were fantastic from the beginning of the process throughout the end. It was our 25th year anniversary and we had two homes right next to each other. Both homes were spectacular. The scenery and area is outstanding. We used the boat slip, the kayaks and enjoyed the gazebo. It was quiet at night and gorgeous during the day. Thank you for making our 25th anniversary special!

Nauti Dog was everything we hoped it would be! The house is beautiful and very clean. The kitchen has everything we needed…and more! Location was perfect. We enjoyed the basketball net and kayaking and walks to the gazebo to watch the sunset! The owner was extremely responsive to our inquiries. Highly recommend this property.

Very relaxing and nice home.

Super clean and beautifully decorated with everything you need in the kitchen. We cooked and played board games left there on a rainy day. On the beautiful days we were a short drive to a beach that was amazing for both the kids and dog! Right outside we played basketball and cornhole and walked the dock to see so many gosh and crabs. We also enjoyed the two beautiful decks and watched the sunset and windsurfers. It was a great stay.

First trip to Salvo was wonderful thanks to a beautiful, clean, spacious yet cozy stay at the Nauti-Dog. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the bay and riding bikes around the town.

We just returned home from a lovely stay at this property. The house is wonderfully situated in a great grouping of newer homes. We were greeted by the most magnificent sunset over the sound and walked out the the gazebo to watch it. The beach is accessible by a short walk or many public access points that were just a short drive away. Lots of fun excursions like the Hatteras Lighthouse, Pea Island Nature Wildlife Refuge, and more! We explored many different stretches of beach over the days we were visiting. The property owners provided a great guest guide book upon booking, which was super helpful throughout the stay. The pictures were very accurate, which does not always happen with rental listings. Very minor cleanliness things like the sink not draining well, baseboards and air returns very dusty and some grimy dishes. Please do not let this deter you from staying, the overall cleanliness of the house was great and the furnishings are modern and comfortable! We packed most of our food, but there are a few markets and a supermarket close by. Note: if you travel in the off season, like we did, many of the local businesses and eateries are closed. Make sure to call places and plan some meals ahead during this time of year. A wonderful stay and we hope to visit this lovely property again! We would highly recommend this property!

This was my family's first time in OBX and this house made the trip. Super clean place with comfy beds and lots of space. The street is very quiet and family friendly. Great views of the sunset from the decks. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful family retreat - book this rental immediately! It was clean, spacious for a family of four and a short drive across the street to the beach! We cooked our meals in the beautiful kitchen and enjoyed spending quality time together. All of our neighbors were friendly and we made new friends! Thank you Nauti Dog for making our first time in OBX memorable! We can't wait to return!

We had 2 families with 10 people and the house was plenty big enough very clean and worked out great. This house was better then expected great location with small harbor and gazebo that had great sunsets. The 2 decks have bay and ocean views. We look forward to coming back.

We all had a wonderful trip to the Outer Banks. Our house was perfect for our family and two dogs. The house was very clean. We loved the furniture on the decks. We spent almost every morning out there with our coffee. The view was beautiful looking over the sound. The large kitchen table was great for our card games. We loved the neighborhood feel at Black Dog Harbor. Everyone we met was so nice.

The property is very beautiful and the location was great. The only reason I didn't give five stars for everything; was because there was construction that was going on right across the street; hammering, sawing and loud music started at 6:00 am and didn't stop until 5:00 pm. So sleeping in was out of the question and relaxing on the deck and balconing during the day wasn't very enjoyable or relaxing. My only complaint is; I wish we would have know that the construction was going on. We might have planned differently. We did love the home and it's location and I would consider going back because the house and location are perfect.

Overall excellent stay. House was clean and nicely decorated. Superb sunsets and views of water! Upstairs enjoyable and comfortable with great views. Wasn’t aware there were homes in front of our rental (one under construction). Nice and quiet overall. We love dogs and theme of the complex. Wish restaurants were open later. Drive to Avon most nights for good food options. Could have stayed longer but went for a quick weekend getaway.

We loved our time at Nauti-Dog, the house was extremely clean, comfortable & beautifully decorated. Great views of the sunsetting on the harbour from the upper deck & an easy 10 minute walk to the beach. We would highly recommend staying here when visiting Hatteras!

Loved staying here! House was perfect for our family vacation !

We love the quiet, beautifully designed little development of Black Dog Harbor so much that, after visiting another home here in June, we jumped at the chance to book a few more days in the neighborhood. The property is well cared for and up to date. Nightly views of the sunset and daily views of the kite boarders from every level are stunning. Walk (or drive) the short distance to either the ocean side or a quiet sound side beach, perfect for small children in minutes. Fish from the pier. Play basketball. Paddle the included kayaks into the sound. Grab upscale casual seafood less than 5 minutes north at Watermen’s, walk to ice cream, or basic groceries and beach gear, or take a five minute drive for amazing vegan smoothie bowls at Hatteras Bowls... head the other direction and you are on the most unspoiled sea shore in minutes. We found the area because we were looking for a family getaway where we could peacefully escape crowds in the pandemic, but we’ve already made plans to come back again and again. We did have a couple of small bumps in our check in this time — unlike our last time which was flawless — but LA and her staff were immediately responsive and handled them perfectly. We’ve rented a lot of VRBO’s for our family of seven, and her homes and how she runs them are outstanding.

The property is well maintained, in great condition, and has lots of activities on the property including kayaking, and fishing. A beautiful gazebo for sunsets, and casual picnic lunches.

We really enjoyed our stay at Nauti-dog. The home and the area are very well maintained, you don't see that type of care put in to most rental properties. From the moment we got into the house and saw that they had left each of our dogs a biscuit we could tell the difference. The sound view is amazing and we enjoyed watching all the kite boarders and the beautiful sunsets. We are looking forward to being able to come back again.

We really enjoyed our time together as a family. The house was comfortable and accommodating for all of us. Easy access to the beach, and we really enjoyed the dock and gazebo access. We will definitely be back! Thankful for the host and their hospitality while we were there.
