Beautiful property

The driveway wasn't that troublesome for us. I could see this being an issue with an ECar. We want to come back at some point in the future! Thank you for a great stay and your generosity!

Location, beautiful quiet deck with lovely gardens & view. Just a walk away from the little shops of Hood River. The steps to town were a serious calf workout! We loved it & will hopefully stay again! Lots of extras in the kitchen too!

Very clean, well maintained, older home on a hillside with views of the Columbia River. Nice outdoor areas on a wrap around deck. Well stocked kitchen.

I travelled to Hood River to visit our daughter and her boyfriend. We loved the house~ it was super comfortable and had everything we needed for a long weekend. We didn’t walk into ton because the weather was rainy, but I would have loved to experience the giant flight of stairs that takes you up the hill from town. I would love to stay there again!

Cute house. Expensive for the weekend with all the fees. Deck needs attention as does the yard.

My husband and I enjoyed this place. The house is simple, clean, and easy. It is nestled into the hillside, surrounded by trees, squirrels, and birds. The views of the Columbia River and the Hood River Bridge are exceptional! A 4-wheel drive is needed to get down the super steep driveway, but there’s room at the bottom to easily turn around. The location is convenient to everything.

Great place to stay, was difficult for us to locate, driving and walking due to the wonderful uniqueness of the area.. Helpful property Mgr when we needed to stay an extra day. Great view, relaxing deck, great house.

It was a great stay! The driveway was steep and there were quite a few bugs. I grew up on a farm, so none of that was an issue. If you’re looking for the Ritz Carlton, though, this place might not be for you.

We had a great time — the deck has a wonderful view. The property is shady and we found that the fans kept the place cool even as the temperatures were in the 90’s.

Excellent stay in Hood River. The house was just the right size for 3 adults. Did not appreciate the notice for the steep driveway that could be an issue if rainy or frozen conditions (and even steep for walking up ;) ). Clean and good setting- ample kitchen supplies for travelers and linens were clean and pleasant. No dishwasher (ok for us with minimal cups and limited plates.) Noted no AC for hot days but fans were adequate. Needed some lighting on driveway side of house (dark coming in) Location to town was a little deceptive in needing to walk up drive and along narrow residential streets before getting to dining, shops & breweries. (Hood River is not a town for having car and needing to park) Aimee was available and even checked on house and our stay as we were leaving. Andy & Teresa of Cincinnati.

Great location where you feel in touch with nature. Quaint little home with everything that's needed and nice deck with views. The slope to the house is STEEP. We have an infant and far too steep to walk up with a stroller. Keep this in mind. For us (with infant) the combination of steep slope + hills + distance to city center made it not walkable to downtown. Above said the place is great and will stay again.

The house was well maintained, clean, and the view was beautiful. But guests should be aware that the driveway is extremely steep and this could be a challenge depending on weather and type of car. There is an option to park at the top of the hill. The rest was very nice.

We used this as a home base for a couple of days at Mt Hood Meadows and it was ideal!

Great spot for a quick getaway! The kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean! Near to downtown with an awesome view of the Gorge. There were some box elders bugs in the house, but this is to be expected due to the outside vegetation. Overall I definitely recommend.

We loved being so close to the Indian Creek Trail head. Property is cute, perfect for an adult getaway

My friends and I enjoyed staying here! It was perfect for our girls weekend. It was a short but steep walk to town.

The location was terrific with a beautiful view of the town of Hood River and the Columbia River. While the home is a bit dated, it was as we expected based on the accurate description of the property.

No air conditioning, but plenty of fans so we were comfortable. The kitchen was very well-equipped and the home was immaculate

If you have kids, think again before renting this house. We rented the home for our family vacation (6 nights late July/early August). While we understood it didn’t have central AC, the listening did say the property offered fans which kept it cool and comfortable. Several reviews backed up this claim. Upon arrival, however, we found one of the three tower fans was broken and the other two hardly moved the air inside the house. We contacted the property manager immediately asking if we could buy more fans for the house and donate them to the property. She responded back instantly says “absolutely!” After running the large fans we bought on high throughout the house for 5 straight hours our children (ages 24 months and 6 months) were both in tears. “Momma, hot!” was all my oldest could manage between sobs. The house had only cooled by three degrees and was reading at 87 degrees! 87!!!! For the health and safety of our babies we slept at a hotel that night. That evening and the following day I attempted to contact the property manager, Amy. My calls, texts and emails went answered and the only response or acknowledgment we received was the day before checkout saying she’d been “traveling” and that the ad says “no AC”. That was it. No “oh, I’m so sorry I didn’t call you back.” Or “I’m sorry your kids were so uncomfortable”. Or “wow! 87 degrees? No wonder you couldn’t sleep in the house”. NOTHING! We didn’t even get a thank you for spending $120 on fans! To this day, we’ve never heard a word from Amy. The home is adorable. And, if you don’t have very young children, maybe you’ll enjoy sleeping there during the summer months. However, if you, like me, are swayed and comforted by the reviews from June and July saying home “comfortable” the house is to stay in even during the hottest of days, you may want to call the Hood River Inn and reserve a room… just in case. Our six night stay there was fantastic!!!
