Absolutely perfect place for a restful getaway. Don’t worry about having to get there by the beach…but when they say “air down” your tires….air down your tires! If you do that you will be fine. The cottage and hosts were absolutely perfect. We seriously cannot say enough good things about both.

We absolutely loved our stay, celebrating our first year anniversary. The cottage was adorable and had everything you could imagine to make our stay comfortable & enjoyable! We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful rural, peaceful waterfront property to launch retirement with my husband and pup! Pristine house and grounds. Every little kitchen amenity you need to cook or bake, complete with coffee bar. Please note - Food storage space is limited for longer stay (we stayed 9 days) so use your big cooler. We grilled and ate in all week. You’ll also love the fun retro vibe. So fun! Clean laundry room with deep sink, potty and sport equipment storage was super handy. The grounds were private on two sides. Nothing but water, birds, ducks, fish jumping, deer, horses, tall pines and sky - pretty spectacular! We enjoyed the kayak, pedal boat, fire pit and fishing poles. I especially loved the choices of tree swings and gliders (on deck). Also appreciated little gate at the top of the deck stairs to keep our Cody safely contained. One impo tip if coming by 4X4 (vs boat) on beach. Check tide schedule. It’s a 30 min drive. You MUST air down to about 18 lbs. Then key tip - turn left off beach when you see the tall fire rescue communication tower (set back a bit) and in front of it a private extensive white walkway/stairway on dune near the beach turn off corner. Turn left there! We missed it the first time and went way off the beaten path after driving 7 hours - not fun! Sherry quickly came to phone rescue 😊 She’s a great communicator. We booked our 2025 spring trip before we left today! Worth the 14 hour drive from CT to have such natural serenity.

Property was nice with kayaks and paddle boat but second person with the dogs we paid extra for could not get in due to depth of water on the dune roads. We were not offered a refund on the extra fees for the dogs or the insurance for them We felt if we left the property, we might not get back in so we were stuck there. Enjoyed the games and amenities

My husband and I stayed for 3 days at the Carova Beach Canal Front property. It was immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make meals there. We kayaked on the canals, played bean bag toss, and drove the beach and the town every day to see the wild horses. We saw lots of horses, and one of them was grazing right next to the house one day. We had never driven on a beach before, and that was an adventure!

We planned a small visit of the Christmas holiday and were thrilled by the location, amenities, and overall stay. We have stayed in the same area about 4 times, but this one was the most pleasant of all of them. We absolutely loved sitting by the fire, watching ducks on the canal while listening to the surf just over the dunes. Did I say perfect location? Even the horses agreed as they spent a great deal of time on the property. Host was more than friendly and wonderfully accommodating. Thank you for making our Christmas!!

Amazing place, the horses were around or on the property nearly every day! Lots of other wildlife as well. This cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay, all of the comforts of home! Sherry and Jeff are great hosts, we came in during a tropical storm and they were super flexible, allowing us in early for low tide. Each trip to and from the house is an adventure! Lots to do both on and off the property. Spotless clean and comfortable and just enough space for the 4 of us. Off the beaten path but so worth it!! We will return! There is nothing like Carova. Thank you for the personal touch with the anniversary wine. This was an incredible opportunity to make amazing memories!

The Dew Drop Inn is a beautiful cottage. All the conveniences of home and then some. The location was perfect for us. Loved the short drive to the 4x4 beach. What a great time we had. Would absolutely stay here again!!!!

Thank you Sherry, we enjoyed our stay so much at the Dew Drop Inn! Our favorite part was all the outdoor activities and outdoor living space. We saw horses almost every day! Our daughters enjoyed paddle boating and kayaking. We made a fire every night and roasted s’mores. Our dog loved watching the wildlife on the wraparound porch. The cottage was the perfect size for our little family. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was very clean! Sherry has been an amazing hostess and provided us with everything we needed, including extra firewood for last night! Thank you for making our Labor Day vacation so relaxing and perfect! We can wait to come back next summer!

I absolutely loved my stay! This place is nice and hidden and super quiet as a result. Being right on the canal was very cool and provided some good scenery while lounging out back. Getting to the beach was super easy with the car and the parking passes provided. The house was very clean and well-equipped.

Beautiful cottage on the sound in Carova. We’ve been coming to Corolla for 35 years but this is the first time we have stayed in Carova. We loved it. Saw the horses everyday. Short drive to the beach. Cottage is cozy and immaculate. Would love to return!

This is the most incredible place to stay! Truly, the best trip we’ve ever taken. This cottage is a dream home perfect for escaping from the daily hustle and bustle. A quick stop at the grocery on your way in and you don’t need go anywhere else. Wild horse sightings daily. Ocean just a few minutes away. We all left renewed and at peace. A trip to always cherish!

Perfect place to stay!! Back yard is as entertaining as being on the beach. Peddle boat, paddle boards, fishing, firepit... House is clean and very cozy, well stocked.

We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable, peaceful visit. The weather was perfect and the wild horses were plentiful. We were simply mesmerized by them swimming daily in the canal and rolling in the grass to dry themselves, walking under the steps to the oak trees to rub on them, and eating grass from the yard and weeds from the canal. We had a perfect view from the porch as not to disturb their wanderings. We were so impressed by the fact that Carova is a place that welcomes the horses in a calm, undisturbed environment. Hopefully, this will always hold true-they deserve to be protected. Thank you, Sherry and Jeffrey for allowing us to rent your gorgeous cottage. The vintage household items were an added treat to enjoy. Not a detail was overlooked-even with the vintage hook holding the life jackets. There was nothing we needed that you did not provide. We enjoyed the swings and the Pedal Boat. Our Pedal Boat excursion led to even more horse sightings around the canal! It is beyond me why anyone would go on a horse tour when they could rent your tranquil cottage. Sherry, we enjoyed meeting and talking to your parents one of the mornings we were there. We plan to visit again one day, and I am glad we rented a four-wheel drive vehicle and did not try to drive my AWD! Thank you again for everything!

Everything was picture perfect, peaceful, wild horses beaches, fresh ocean air, property and property owners were absolutely amazing.

House was extremely clean and well stocked, they have everything you would ever need. My family enjoyed the fire pit. Loved the paddle boat. Our dog enjoyed the wrap around porch and the sharkie dog treat jar. Wonderful family vacation memories made that will last a life time. Cant wait for the next OBX Vacay!!! Staying here is truly the best. We’re always excited to arrive & always sad to leave. It is truly HOME away from home! Love the peddleboat addition! Love the paddle boards, fire pit, multiple swings, fishing, sunsets. We cannot thank you enough!

We made the trip since we have been thinking of relocating there and this trip helped us decide to do so. The house was amazing and super clean. The owners were absolutely great and so easy to reach and provided a great home away from home

It was absolutely amazing to see the horses just walking around! We had such a lovely time! We kayaked, enjoyed amazing expresso and lattes, played games and explored!

Wow wow wow!!! The property location was amazing! so much wildlife just doing their thing. My husband enjoyed fishing in the sound while I enjoyed the views and the bird’s singing, very peaceful, private and secluded. The Horses greeted us on our first day at the home and said their farewells on our last day. We had so much fun 4x4 on the beach and just driving around looking at all the beautiful horses. Our most memorable experience of our vacation was the night we drove on the beach and we saw a lone horse just walking along the ocean’s edge. Such a magical majestic moment to witness! Thank you to Sherry and Jeff for sharing your charming cottage with us! This vacation will be hard to top!

This cottage has an incredible location, is meticulously clean, and has countless amenities. This is truly a story book setting, with multiple swings, a perfect fire pit, and it even has wild horses grazing in the yard. You can hear the ocean from the phenomenal wrap around deck. Peaceful calls of ducks, whippoorwills, birds, and bullfrogs pulled us from sleep with cheerful morning melodies and sang us to sleep with soft lullabies at night. We cannot wait to return. This is an incredible escape and you will not regret your time spent.

This is our first time staying at Sherry & Jeff cottage and we are anticipating to come back soon. The cottage was cozy, super clean, very well equipped with everything you can think of, indoor and outdoor, very nice decorated, quiet, relaxing it was the perfect place to escape from reality. Located on the canal the views are amazing. We couldn’t enjoyed the company of the mustang this time but hopefully we can get to see them when we come back. Thank you Sherry & Jeff for sharing this piece of heaven with us.

My husband and I were able to get away for a long weekend and celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. Although it is February, we had the most wonderful time at this sweet little cottage. Jeff and Sherry went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. And it sure was! We will most definitely be going back! 10/10
