I absolutely loved my stay! This place is nice and hidden and super quiet as a result. Being right on the canal was very cool and provided some good scenery while lounging out back. Getting to the beach was super easy with the car and the parking passes provided. The house was very clean and well-equipped.

Beautiful cottage on the sound in Carova. We’ve been coming to Corolla for 35 years but this is the first time we have stayed in Carova. We loved it. Saw the horses everyday. Short drive to the beach. Cottage is cozy and immaculate. Would love to return!

This is the most incredible place to stay! Truly, the best trip we’ve ever taken. This cottage is a dream home perfect for escaping from the daily hustle and bustle. A quick stop at the grocery on your way in and you don’t need go anywhere else. Wild horse sightings daily. Ocean just a few minutes away. We all left renewed and at peace. A trip to always cherish!

Perfect place to stay!! Back yard is as entertaining as being on the beach. Peddle boat, paddle boards, fishing, firepit... House is clean and very cozy, well stocked.

We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable, peaceful visit. The weather was perfect and the wild horses were plentiful. We were simply mesmerized by them swimming daily in the canal and rolling in the grass to dry themselves, walking under the steps to the oak trees to rub on them, and eating grass from the yard and weeds from the canal. We had a perfect view from the porch as not to disturb their wanderings. We were so impressed by the fact that Carova is a place that welcomes the horses in a calm, undisturbed environment. Hopefully, this will always hold true-they deserve to be protected. Thank you, Sherry and Jeffrey for allowing us to rent your gorgeous cottage. The vintage household items were an added treat to enjoy. Not a detail was overlooked-even with the vintage hook holding the life jackets. There was nothing we needed that you did not provide. We enjoyed the swings and the Pedal Boat. Our Pedal Boat excursion led to even more horse sightings around the canal! It is beyond me why anyone would go on a horse tour when they could rent your tranquil cottage. Sherry, we enjoyed meeting and talking to your parents one of the mornings we were there. We plan to visit again one day, and I am glad we rented a four-wheel drive vehicle and did not try to drive my AWD! Thank you again for everything!

Everything was picture perfect, peaceful, wild horses beaches, fresh ocean air, property and property owners were absolutely amazing.

House was extremely clean and well stocked, they have everything you would ever need. My family enjoyed the fire pit. Loved the paddle boat. Our dog enjoyed the wrap around porch and the sharkie dog treat jar. Wonderful family vacation memories made that will last a life time. Cant wait for the next OBX Vacay!!! Staying here is truly the best. We’re always excited to arrive & always sad to leave. It is truly HOME away from home! Love the peddleboat addition! Love the paddle boards, fire pit, multiple swings, fishing, sunsets. We cannot thank you enough!

We made the trip since we have been thinking of relocating there and this trip helped us decide to do so. The house was amazing and super clean. The owners were absolutely great and so easy to reach and provided a great home away from home

It was absolutely amazing to see the horses just walking around! We had such a lovely time! We kayaked, enjoyed amazing expresso and lattes, played games and explored!

Wow wow wow!!! The property location was amazing! so much wildlife just doing their thing. My husband enjoyed fishing in the sound while I enjoyed the views and the bird’s singing, very peaceful, private and secluded. The Horses greeted us on our first day at the home and said their farewells on our last day. We had so much fun 4x4 on the beach and just driving around looking at all the beautiful horses. Our most memorable experience of our vacation was the night we drove on the beach and we saw a lone horse just walking along the ocean’s edge. Such a magical majestic moment to witness! Thank you to Sherry and Jeff for sharing your charming cottage with us! This vacation will be hard to top!

This cottage has an incredible location, is meticulously clean, and has countless amenities. This is truly a story book setting, with multiple swings, a perfect fire pit, and it even has wild horses grazing in the yard. You can hear the ocean from the phenomenal wrap around deck. Peaceful calls of ducks, whippoorwills, birds, and bullfrogs pulled us from sleep with cheerful morning melodies and sang us to sleep with soft lullabies at night. We cannot wait to return. This is an incredible escape and you will not regret your time spent.

This is our first time staying at Sherry & Jeff cottage and we are anticipating to come back soon. The cottage was cozy, super clean, very well equipped with everything you can think of, indoor and outdoor, very nice decorated, quiet, relaxing it was the perfect place to escape from reality. Located on the canal the views are amazing. We couldn’t enjoyed the company of the mustang this time but hopefully we can get to see them when we come back. Thank you Sherry & Jeff for sharing this piece of heaven with us.

My husband and I were able to get away for a long weekend and celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. Although it is February, we had the most wonderful time at this sweet little cottage. Jeff and Sherry went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. And it sure was! We will most definitely be going back! 10/10

What can I say? I loved it. Clean, quiet, beautiful, charming. Our dogs loved it. It was a perfect Christmas aside from the weather one day.

We enjoyed returning to this home, and anticipate coming again. Winter is a beautiful, peaceful season on the Outer Banks, especially at this area accessible only by 4x4. Dew Drop Inn is perfectly equipped, and Sherry and Jeff are exceptional hosts. Sherry even took the time to walk us through how to find our team’s football game on the tv. The home is clean and comfortable, and well equipped for short or long stays. We look forward to returning!

Our second time to the property, and once again had a fabulous time. First time that we have ever returned somewhere for a second vacation; it is not easy to get to, but well worth it!

This is our 2nd time staying at this house. Very clean, it has everything you could possibly need. Kitchen is fully stocked. The water filter is a great thing to have. Ice maker is very convenient. Love the enclosed porch for our fur baby. Keeps her safe! We walked saw tons of horses and deer, even a couple of squirrels!

My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and it's exactly what we hoped for! The house was clean, great location, and perfect for us or a small family! We loved sitting by the canal water and parking on the beach! We had successful fishing, horse visitors, and everything we needed to cook and have a fire! We enjoyed the amenities for the canal, as well. Not to mention the sunsets were unmatched! Definitely will be coming back to stay here!

Our vacation was great enjoyed ourselves completely, once we learned how to drive the beach we were fine, I really have no complaints because Sherry covered just about everything, that's why we rebooted for next year 😊 thk u so much

The Dew Drop Inn was the perfect place to get away from the real world with our dogs for our wedding anniversary. The cottage is cozy overlooking a lovely canal. I looked out the window the first morning to see three horses grazing in the yard by the canal and it made the drive there worth it. We had come in the previous evening on the heels of Hurricane Ian. (Not something I would recommend. 😉) Sherry let us know the weather impact on the surf and kept in touch with us. She arranged for us to follow a neighbor home. Honestly, we wouldn't have gotten there without her. Also, we were in an AWD Subaru Forester. While it did get us there and home, it wasn't really a smart choice for the Fall sugar sand and the Ian-angered surf. I'd advise taking the 4x4 recommendation seriously. The accommodations were lovely. I second the other reviews - clean, well-stocked both indoors and outdoors, and thoughtful and thorough support by the host. We each had a wonderful time (dogs, included) both individually and together. The gated deck made it easy for all of us to hang out. We capped off our last evening roasting marshmallows under a nearly full moon. Thank you, Sherry and Jeff, for a great visit!

Owners very accommodating. Quiet, relaxing cottage on the canal. The horses think so too, they were in either the front or backyard each day. Great paddles boards (2) and a two person kayak. Outdoor shower is a plus. Owners have a nice set up inside and we appreciated the Ninja blender, efficient ice maker, water filtration system, and coffee bar. Thanks for sharing your home.

The Dew Drop Inn is a perfect little house for a small family. It has a cute, retro vibe and the coffee bar and counter-top ice maker were a wonderful treat. Located on the canal, the views are spectacular. From Hatteras to Carova, this was the cleanest and most well-maintained house we have ever rented.

Perfect location to escape the beach and also enjoy the tranquility of the canal on a paddle board or kayak. Comfort features inside the house were great as well! 10/10 on this one.

The dew drop inn was spotless and offered every amenity you could think of. It’s small and quaint and very tastefully decorated. A quick drive to the ocean and a few steps to water-sports on the bay. It was amazing and the horses also did not disappoint. They grazed in the yard and swam the bay right in front of our house. It was a beautiful site! We will definitely return!

We had the most amazing experiences and relaxing time. The cottage was perfect for my family of 5. We lived outside kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and enjoying the daily visits from horses. They visited and even swam several times a day. The beach was the perfect distance for my morning runs and our beach days. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean with an eclectic beach cottage vibe. LOVED everything about our stay! We came to relax and get away from it all. My family did just that! We can’t thank Sherry & Jeff enough for their amazing communication. Our truck wouldn’t start the morning we were supposed to leave and they went above and beyond for us. They contacted the neighbor who was so kind as to help give us a jump. We are so thankful! We have been visiting OBX for over 20 years. This was our favorite trip ever!
