My sister and I had our annual getaway at the cabin and it was wonderful! All the porch sitting one could desire, a fully equipped kitchen for meals in and a clean and airy common area. We enjoyed playing foosball and chess as well as our outdoor relaxation time and it’s just a short drive into town for groceries, dining out or activities.
Our dog enjoyed her time so much that she staged a protest when it was time to leave- it was so pleasant to be able to let her be free on the porch because of the gate across the front entrance. Overall a 10 out of 10!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin with our kids and pups! It met all of our needs and we cannot wait to come back!

The property is magnificent. Had everything we wanted and needed. Just a small heads up on the wifi. We're normally off the grid on vacation but this time we were house hunting and communicating with the Realtor and mortgage broker was a nightmare.

The property is in a perfect location only a few minutes from Lake Lure. It felt private but safe. Our dogs had fun too! The overall feel is laid back and the cabin was clean!

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything one would need for preparing a meal. My husband enjoyed using the Weber grill. The temperature was very hot outside but the cabin stayed cool without any issues.
We brought our two senior dogs who have slowed down a bit from the high energy they used to have. I chose to walk them through the woods on a path that led to a side gate into the fenced backyard. The backyard is steep but by doing this it was easier for them to have access to the lower portion which is more level.
There was lots of information in the cabin concerning places to go in the area. We enjoyed spending time on the decks listening to nature. Thank you Wayne for sharing your cabin with us.

This property is nestled away in the woods, very quiet!! The cabin is stocked very well. The view is spectacular!! Very close to Lake Lure/ Chimney Rock. We highly recommend it for a very relaxing getaway! We will be back!

Very nice stay! We enjoyed the privacy of the cabin with proximity to Lake Lure. The cabin was perfect for our 3 generations: main floor BR for 89-yr old, plus 32-yr old w/ 2 dogs, and 68-yr old middle. Varying needs and all met!
One cautionary comment, and the reason for my one 4 star rating (accuracy of listing) - the fenced dog yard is secure and big, but it's very steep (not apparent in the pic), both the yard itself and the access steps. An old or very small dog could struggle. Ours were fine, but no ball-throwing.
Our host, Wayne, was very responsive, both with the usual communication (check-in, etc) and for a fix for an unusual big hitch (no water!). He got someone there pronto for a fix. In all, we really enjoyed our stay.

My friend and I had a great time away from the hustle of city life. But your just minutes away from stores or Lake Lure. We enjoyed sitting out on the wrap around porch.

It was a great gateway. It feels like you are in a tree house waking up to the birds in the window every morning. Fenced patio is a very nice touch for the furry babies. Very central to the local restaurants and supermarket. I will definitely be booking another stay.

This cabin was perfect for a quick getaway. It’s within driving distance to almost everything. The cabin was also very clean, roomy and nicely put together with no odors. The only downside was the numerous bees flying around outside which made it very uncomfortable to take my dog to the bathroom throughout the day and to relax on the upper and lower decks/porches. Also, the fenced in backyard is incredibly steep and hard to navigate if you aren’t extremely careful. The views from the decks are beautiful. Overall I would definitely stay here again and would suggest it to others.

The cabin exceeded our expectations. The owner goes above and beyond what is in the listing. Check-in process was seamless and simple. The cabin was in great shape and extremely roomy (more cabin than we needed.) All standard amenities were included, but the owner had "extras" there also (coffee, tea, condiments, small flashlight accessible in every room) We will be staying again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others. The only negative I can think of is that the fenced yard is kind of a steep slope and our short legged dogs , bassett hound and beagle, had trouble maneuvering the yard. Not really a big deal, we just walked them through the neighborhood instead. The dogs really enjoyed the fully enclosed deck and the freedom to run around outside. Cabin is located pretty much within 15 minutes to everything (stores, restaurants, activities) Can't wait for our next visit.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin and Lake Lure. Chimney Rock is definitely a must see. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There were a few minor repairs that could be taken care of such as the kitchen light switch but nothing that isn't due to just regular wear and tear. Wayne, Host, was very accommodating and Betty Jo, the housekeeper, was very helpful with a question I had. If we are ever in this area again I would rent this cabin.

Silver Tree Cabin feels like staying in a spacious and airy treehouse -- lots of windows, vaulted ceilings, and is perched among trees that fall away down the hillside from the back deck leaving great views of the wooded foothills surrounding Lake Lure. The cabin is extremely well stocked with supplies and kitchen equipment, so less packing in of "stuff". Kudos to our host! The Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area is great for a quiet off-season personal retreat with lots of hiking trails, restaurants, and other amenities.

This cabin was perfect for the 2 of us and our pups but had enough room for a family for sure. Kitchen was great we ate in most nights and the view is GREAT! Back yard is a bit steep so wear shoes but having it fenced in for our dogs was very convenient. Would stay again for sure.

Everything was as explained in listing. Kitchen is well stocked. Neighborhood is quiet. We only saw 3 cars in 5 days. View is amazing and it is nice to have enclosed deck for dogs.

This is a beautiful cabin that is well stocked with everything you need. Very comfortable and cozy. It was decorated for Christmas when we went - we just got home today. We didn’t want to leave!!! We’ve stayed in a lot places but this has been the best by far!!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable cabin. Perfect layout for us, our daughter & son-in-law and their infant daughter. Private, with lovely view from the wrap-around porch. Well stocked with everything we needed. Easy access to restaurants, grocery store and walking trails. The Flowering Bridge is a must see!

Plenty of room for us and the dogs. We loved the upstairs bedroom and the giant window! The backyard is a little wonky but the dogs didnt seem to mind running up and down the hill. We grilled and cooked, thanks to the stocked kitchen. The winding roads were a little nerve racking, but we only came across one other car the entire week. Great location if you're looking for privacy (or your dogs bark at everything)!
Great running trail about a mile away at the Greenspace office. We also paddleboarded around Lake Lure. Everywhere we ate was delicious!
We already recommended the house to our friends and family, and we can't wait to come back!

This was the most comfortable cabin we have stayed in at Lake Lure! Everything we needed was available for our use.

This cabin is on the older side and is showing its age. While everything was clean and tidy, there are places where the decks no longer feel solid and the gates for the front have issues with the latches coming out due to loss of wood from repeated tightening of the screws. The stairs to the back yard are much steeper than expected and were difficult to traverse, even with the grip lines the last section was very slippery from the sandy dirt around the steps. The location is great, many food choices to dine out and a fantastically large grocery store less than ten minutes away. The fence was secure but due to the steps and the incline my dogs were not willing to play outside.

Great location and excellent communication from the host. We really appreciated all the information Wayne offered about places to walk and hike with dogs and even where we could take them to swim in Lake Lure. Our dogs really enjoyed the swimming. We also enjoyed the winery visit her suggested- beautiful setting, good food and wine.

Our family of five and three dogs had the most wonderful time at the Silver Tree cabin. It is exactly as described and very well stocked with anything and everything needed. Great communication from the hosts and very easy to access. The decks are so enjoyable and the area is very peaceful. The downstairs game room was a huge hit with our three children and the dogs loved the backyard. We hope to return next year!
