Andante is beautifully located at the top of Iguana rd/Hawkhill which overlooks 2 beautiful bays. It's a short ride (about 10 min) from Cruz Bay and only about 5 min from the local grocery. We took a trip as 2 couples and stayed for a week in this lovely villa. The gorgeous entry is lined with tropical plants and beautiful stone, well lit for evening/night returns. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need for your stay. The outside decks get a great breeze to allow you to relax a little longer in the island sun and soak up the unobstructed views. On the second tier deck the pool has shaded areas for the loungers and the night hot tub under the stars is an experience that shouldn't be missed. The owners provide 2 portable Bluetooth speakers, pool towels, and floats for a great hang by the pool after a day at the beach or you can sneak down to the quiet lower level for a shaded nap in the hammock that's big enough for 2. The ONLY thing we would change is renting a jeep next time, Marilyn recommended it but we love the taxi experience so much we opted out. She was right in her recommendation and we would have been able to explore more had we had our own vehicle. It's also a must as the dumpsters are not "across the street", they're across from the grocery as you head into town. The property owners are so kind and knowledgeable and have really thought of everything. The local property management company they use is also committed to providing a great vacation with the right touch of service without too much during your stay. We notified them of a concern about a jet in the hot tub around 7pm and a repair person was there in less than 24 hours to fix it! Read the book and read it again if you stay as we found more interesting info about halfway through, the fans, the laundry, the games and so much more. The skylights allow so much beautiful sunlight in the home during the day we rarely used any lights and found ourselves turning off switches that weren't on because it was so well lit.

Andante by the Sea is 5 stars all around. Great owners, fantastic communications, helpful staff when checking in, and outstanding views all around! We loved the location at the top of the hill with great views of Hart's Bay, Chocolate Hole, and St. Thomas lights. You are close to Cruz Bay but far enough away for peace and quiet. We highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to book again.

Six of us came to St. John to escape our stressful lives and celebrate our friendship. It was perfect. The hosts could not have been more wonderful - very engaged before the trip and discretely checking in on us during it. The house is beautiful and the Chocolate Hole area was a great location. Cannot wait to return!

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Andante by the Sea. The views are even better than pictures. Communication with the owners and property manager was outstanding. Our primary objective was privacy and great views and this home delivered both. The home was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed. The location is convenient to all the restaurants in Cruz Bay (8-10 minute drive). Thanks for letting us enjoy this wonderful home.

This property is absolutely stunning! Close to town and convenient to the beaches. It was great to go to the beach for the day and head back to the house and get in the pool and jacuzzi. Used the pool almost every day even for a quick dip. My daughter loved to go down to the shore to find shells!! Hopefully we will be back again!!

We rented Andante by the Sea to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I could not have imagined a nicer place to celebrate. The view was out of this world, the amenities were perfect, the view was out of this world, the villa was in perfect order, (no signs of a hurricane here), the pool and hot tub were so relaxing. The Property owners and managers were wonderful to deal with before and during our stay. The property is very well kept and appointed with everything needed for our stay. The views from the property are spectacular. You are close to Cruz Bay, but not too close, and yet the property feels quite private. The house design sits perfectly to allow trade winds to blow through the house. Air conditioners were nice for the bedrooms while sleeping. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property to others.

Part of me doesn't want to share any details about this amazing property. From my initial contact with Marilyn and Rich, I knew this was the place for my family. They were so helpful in answering all our questions. From the time we arrived, we felt like we were at a resort. We loved the welcome basket, the robes in each room, all the different types of coolers, and the pool floats. We were also super appreciative of the beach umbrella and wonderful backpack chairs. I am not one to like to cook on vacation. However, with a kitchen and a view like this one, we stayed in and cooked two dinners. The kitchen was so well stocked and the grill is in a perfect location on the deck. We loved coming home from the beach and swimming at the pool and sitting in the hot tub. We loved all the different places to sit outside and especially appreciate how there were some shady spots to sit as well. The set up of the house is simply perfect and we had a constant breeze that was delightful. We walked down the path to Hart Bay a few times. It was one of our favorite things about the house. We found so much sea glass and many other treasures. We even saw an octopus at low tide. It is definitely a good idea to wear sneakers as you hike the path. If someone is not used to hiking and exercising, it could be a challenge. Favorite Restaurants for dinner Morgan's Mango and Ocean 362. Favorite Restaurants for lunch: Aqua Bistro and Skinny Legs. Things we would remember for next time (hopefully next summer), portable speaker to bring to the beaches, a few more thin beach towels. There are wonderful thick beach towels provided at the house. They were perfect for beaches in close proximity to the car (e.g., Maho) They were a little heavy for hiking to more remote beaches (e.g., Lemon Cay) Snorkeling at Maho and Little Lamshur was amazing! We saw so many turtles, a moray eel, a black tip shark, and many fish! Since we have returned home, there have been many times when we say aloud to each other, "When can we go back?" Thank you so much Marilyn and Rich! We are so grateful St. John continues to rebuild and we can't wait to return.

My husband and I and college age daughter just returned from 10 unbelievable days on St John and Andante by The Sea. Andante is in absolute pristine condition after Irma/Maria. We were blown away by the views of Hart Bay /Rendevous Bay when we first entered Andante and walked out onto the deck. The house is perfectly sited to receive the glorious tradewinds from the east. My husband and I stayed in the "Master" bedroom but the villa actually has 3 true masters with king beds and ensuite baths. We only used the top floor bedrooms but I asked to preview the bottom floor bedroom for future visits and it is spacious and lovely. The bottom story of the house also gets the easterly tradewinds. My daughter and I had fabulous massages on the lower deck with the tradewinds blowing but shaded. There is also a wonderful hammock on the lower deck which is a great place to lounge and read and nap. The bedrooms all have AC but I never used the AC in the east bedroom. The breezes at night(and all day!) were wonderful and we were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the wind and the ocean waves from Hart Bay. The bedrooms are all very private, with super comfy beds,the two top ones being separated by the great room. The house is beautifully decorated and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. It is fully equipped with everything you will need!Great kitchen! We opened the windows and doors every morning in the great room and kitchen and let the tradewinds blow through.(great screens in all windows and doors though we never saw one mosquito) The high speed ceiling fans are also great and we were never hot in the main part of the house. The satellite tv worked great and we were able to watch World Cup Soccer games while getting ready to go to the beach. The upstairs deck is large and has views east to Ditleff point and west over Chocolate Hole. You really DO get sunrise and sunset views from this villa! We watched the sunset every night from the brand new beautiful large hot tub and expanded new pool deck and sunrise from master deck. The pool is a great size and has beautiful new blue tile edging. Perfect for afternoon swims after returning from the beach. Easy 5 minute drive from Cruz Bay. Loved every minute at Andante. Marilyn and Rich(owners) were wonderful to work with and have obviously put a lot of love into this very beautiful villa. Megan and Dan, property managers were fabulous and responsive to any question. Can't wait to return to Andante!

We loved Andante. The views were amazing and we had everything we needed for 3 couples to stay comfortably for a week. The hot tub and pool were gorgeous and we really enjoyed having the grill for dinner 'at home' a couple of nights. Would highly recommend. For families or couples wishing to have privacy and comfort!

Beautiful, expansive views of the south side of St John and over to St Thomas. The home was lovely with every amenity. Would refer this to a friend and stay, again.

Our family (including our 3 year old granddaughter) stayed at this beautiful home for Christmas this year. At first I was a bit skeptical about leaving Home for the holidays, but, ANDANTE felt like home. Rich and Marilyn, the owners made sure we had everything we could ever need. They also checked in with us during the week. I was able to contact them at anytime, and was always received with friendliness and a prompt answer to our questions. The decks, upper and lower, have spectacular views from all angles. The saltwater pool is wonderful, there is a gate on the top deck that prevents young children from going down to the pool area, which was a fantastic safety issue for our piece of mind. In fact, I cannot say enough about this piece of heaven. We will most definitely be returning and we HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants to escape and yet can be in Cruz Bay in minutes. Having previously stayed at a St John resort and various condos, we decided to try out a villa. This house was wonderful! The amazing view, clean house, and proximity to Cruz Bay was most enjoyable and appreciated. This house worked very well for our family of four and we would absolutely return. We have no hesitation or reservation to recommend Andante by the Sea to others. We fully agree with all of the positive comments from previous reviews. Wonderful house with a beautiful view. Marilyn and Rich - your home is absolutely beautiful! Our family had the most relaxing and perfect vacation! The house was wonderfully equipped and had all the amenities one may need, from cooking on the grill to preparing morning breakfast! We loved the lazy days by the pool and the constant Tradewind breezes. Nights were star filled while relaxing in the hot tub. This was our first visit to St. John, and we already know we will definitely be back! Andante is a wonderful place - the views are 180+ degrees and absolutely gorgeous. The property owners, Rich and Marilyn care a great deal about the experience of those who stay, and it shows at every step in the process. The villa is decorated like a home, not a rental. There were great supplies for beach goers (chairs, coolers, blankets, beach bags) and also some snorkeling gear and pool floats. Crystal from the property management company met us at the dock and escorted us to the villa. Driving on St. John is very intimidating at first, especially the last 100ft or so to Andante (very steep), but don't let that bother you. At first the steepness really bothered me, but by the second day, I was a pro at getting around. Be sure to rent a jeep - don't mess around with a car. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking at the villa. I recommend ordering from Ronnie's pizza if you arrive after dark and need to locate some dinner. Proximity to grocery stores was great (Starfish market and St. John's market) and make sure you don't miss the opportunity to pick up sandwiches from Sam and Jack's - not your ordinary sandwiches. They also have great meals for takeout, as well as some awesome meatballs you can add to any home cooked pasta dishes. We have never been so sad to have a vacation come to an end. Andante (and St. John) felt like home and we will be back soon!

My husband and I just returned from an amazing week at Andante with two other couples. I chose this property because of the views, the opportunity for privacy, and the three separate en suite bathrooms. Between the photos and the reviews, I knew that Andante was the place for us. From the time we were greeted at the ferry dock by one of the property managers until our departure, our vacation couldn't have been more perfect. While we loved spending time at the pool and hot tub, we also enjoyed venturing out to Cruz Bay and the many breathtaking beaches. Andante is extremely well-maintained and well managed. I have booked through VRBO/HomeAway for many vacations over the years and Andante might be my all-time favorite. I do have a few tips for those who book Andante in the future: Pine Peace Market in Cruz Bay has the best prices by far on both beer and wine, do yourselves a favor and book at least one "dinner in" with Passion Fruits Chefs, take a good book down to the lower level to enjoy the hammock, and spend as much time as possible taking in the beauty of St. John.

Our family of four spent a fabulous week at Andante swimming in the pool and enjoying the amazing views as we relaxed on the deck. The villa was clean and well maintained. St. John is a magical place and Andante by the Sea was just as magical. Highly recommend to stay here!

Andante was a beautiful place to spend a week with family and friends. It felt secluded but was only a short drive to Cruz bay. The view was spectacular. The accommodations in perfect order. We so enjoyed our stay and appreciated the communication and follow-up of the owner and property manager to make sure we had a delightful stay. They also helped us book chef service at Andante--highly recommend this and several excursions.

My husband and I went to Andante for a belated honeymoon. We can't say enough about the beautiful views of the turquoise ocean and the island's mountains! We had tea every morning to the sounds of the surf below, and chose to eat both in and out. We slept like babies on the comfortable king size bed in the master bedroom, and opened the sliding glass door to catch the ocean breeze all night long. We enjoyed time by the pool and hot tub, and even watched a few movies on the Villa's cable T.V.s while vacationing. We toured the island beaches, got wonderful tans, and sipped on sweet mixed drinks while the sun was setting. We went horseback riding, and enjoyed other activities on the island, and always came home to the sweet villa for rest. We would recommend Andante to anyone seeking to stay on St. John!

My husband and I stayed at Andante By The Sea for our honeymoon. The best way I know how to describe our experience is, one of the perks to Andante is the kitchen (stocked with every appliance you could imagine) and the grill on the top porch. We ate out almost every meal and didn't take full advantage of the things we were paying for and it was STILL WORTH EVERY PENNY! The pictures are close to accurate, but the beautiful views Andante provides can't be captured in a photo- it is unbelievable. Not only was the villa outstanding, but Marilyn and Rich were fantastic as well! Marilyn spent time talking to us about the island and offered all kinds of tips and information to help our stay be as welcoming as possible. They were an absolute JOY to work with and we will DEFINITELY be back! This was paradise-we couldn't have picked a better villa with more beautiful views for our first (of many) trips to St. John!!!!

Andante by the sea is an amazing place. You have everything you need as if you were in your own home so you can be very comfortable staying there. The Kitchen is fully appointed so you can make your own meals if you like but even if you don't want to cook, you will want to at least get take out so you can dine at the house and enjoy the amazing views. They have a wonderful view of the nearby bays and great sunrise and sunset views. At night the stars are amazing. While we were there, there was a constant breeze and the downstairs hammock was just an amazing spot to simply lay back and enjoy the peacefulness of the breeze and sounds of the wind, ocean and birds. While in St John, we went Snorkeling several days. We took a Kayak/Snorkel tour in Coral bay where we saw Squid and a Nurse shark. We also went to Maho bay and saw a turtle and several rays. Last we went to Trunk bay which has snorkeling but was most amazing for the beautiful beach and calm waters.

Wonderful home in wonderful location! Ideal setting, secluded and tranquil but close drive to town. Beautiful views. The only negative...downstairs bedroom is functional but not of same quality as upstairs rooms...but made for a private and fun bachelor bad for our preteen sons! Mom and daughter loved the second bedroom and the fantastic shower. Overall, a great villa that makes a great base for enjoyment of a wonderful island!
