My family and I stayed in this house for 6 days after Christmas and over New Year. We were very comfortable and warm - hot showers, great fire in the lounge and general heating. The kitchen was well stocked and the garage was empty for us to park our car (very helpful as a lot of snow came down!) We would love to return 😊

Spacious for our small family of 4. Nice kitchen to cook in. Enjoyed the fireplace. Could have used another easy chair, and better lighting. We would return.

We loved our stay here in Tahoe Donner! We went to the private beach club and had a great time. The beds were super comfortable with new linens. Lars was super accommodating; highly recommend!

This place was perfect for a weekend getaway with some friends. The kitchen had everything you needed to make meals at home and enjoy the lovely cabin and hot tub after a long day of skiing. The location is also perfect for skiing at palisades and enjoying downtown Truckee. The master bedroom bed was particularly comfortable. Would highly recommend!

The location and cabin are great. Plenty of room, clean and the hot tub at the end of a long ski day was essential! Lars was great to work with and took care of everything without hesitation.

The property is in a solid location, but the house itself just screams deferred maintenance and lack of interest by the owner in normal upkeep. Toilet seats are broken, shower curtain rods are literally taped together, light fixtures don’t work, stones are falling off the fireplace hearth, garage doesn’t lock, the ‘curtain rod’ that separates the bonus sleeping area off the master is falling off the wall, the list goes on. Add to that that the place is in dire need of general cosmetic updating, like getting rid of the 70’s shag carpet, the dated wallpaper, the seashell shaped vanity tops, mismatched bedding, etc. and it just feels wrong to pay so much for a place like this. During normal times this cabin would not be able to rent for more than 150-200/night, but here we are paying nearly $600 for what I just described. Did it feel dirty? No, but when everything is so dilapidated it kind of feels that way. The good: kitchen IS updated and is well stocked with cookware and basics like salt, pepper, some condiments, etc. again, location is good, but maybe a little off the beaten path. Beds were generally comfortable, it has a hot tub (not the one pictured though - it’s a tiny little round one).

We had a great stay and Lars is top-notch! First and foremost, the house was squeaky clean. The remodeled kitchen was incredibly well stocked with all kinds of pots/pans, sharp knives, electric mixer, waffle iron, cookie sheets and muffin tins, French press and coffee gear, roasting and cake pans, wire racks… you get the idea. Our group included a toddler, and we appreciated that a toilet has a built-in potty seat, as well as a stool to help little ones reach the sink. There is also a fun sleeping nook tucked under the eaves in the primary bedroom that would be great for kids that are a bit older. Lars gave us his cell phone number and answered our questions quickly, and even arranged for a new propane tank to be delivered in no time flat when we decided to winter BBQ on a whim. We look forward to staying again and wholeheartedly recommend Lars’s house!

All around great place for a group of friends coming to hang out and ski. The host Lars is also extremely hospitable and let us stay for an extended day to get some extra time on the mountain. Would definitely stay again!

We had a very nice stay in this home. It was very comfortable and cozy after being out in the snow each day. Only 5 minutes drive to the Tahoe Donner ski resort - a great place for kids to learn to ski. Also convenient to downtown Truckee, restaurants, and grocery stores.

This was our first time in the region and our original plan was to stay closet to Lake Tahoe. We hadn’t heard of Truckee before. It was a positive experience, as the small city is very charming and full of nice restaurants, and the house worked super well for us. For highlights, i’ll start with the cleanliness, the house was impeccable. And my wife is a tough one to crack, she was impressed. Followed by the beds and linen, top quality which is hard to find in rentals. We slept like kings in their king bed in the master bedroom. The house is spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped. Clearly the owners love cooking (and coffee). There are also board games, which is always entertaining, and the space outside and around the house is lovely. There are other houses around, but it still feels private. That said, we did make friends with the neighbors, who also had kids, and that was great for everyone. There were also bicycles available in the garage, and some nice trails close by. Highly recommend, hope we visit again one day.

Great value for money and just as advertised (apart from a change of bed in the downstairs bedroom - from single-over-full bunk beds to a full bed, which was a little tricky for us as we required four separate beds so our three kids wouldn’t have to share, but with extra mattresses available and the help of the owner, we navigated this so it didn’t cause too much trouble). Overall, the rental was spacious and comfortable for my family of five with some modern touches and amenities added to the traditional rustic decor. It was our first time in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood and we loved the proximity to Truckee and Woodward and the accessibility to the private beach and pools with the guest passes available - although the additional per person charges do add up for a larger group! The owner was very responsive to any questions and queries and the only real issue we had was the heat at the time of our stay. The downstairs bedrooms were fine but the upstairs was uncomfortably hot even with two fans going constantly. A couple more fans in the home might be advisable for future hot weather. On the whole, it’s a lovely quiet neighborhood - although there’s not much privacy out the back deck and in the hot tub when the nextdoor neighbors are out on their deck in the evening and at at weekends. We did really enjoy our stay though and recommend this rental.

The owner was great to work with, the house was all in working order with extra little essentials (which was nice), the location was super convenient with downtown minutes away, Donner Lake Minutes away and Lake Tahoe a short drive. We had a great time exploring alot of what Truckee has to offer!

Excellent communication with the owner. Great price point in a very nice neighborhood. We enjoyed his art, cabin and low key property. The trail which runs through the back end of the property was great for a family friendly after dinner stroll. Having two adult mountain bikes of working order in the garage was huge! The board games made for fun evenings with our family. Overall, we would definitely stay again.

Driving distance to Truckee, surrounded by beautiful woods and hiking trails. House was perfect. Spacious 3 bed and really clear with everything you could need!

It was a nice Cabin located in a quiet area of Tahoe Donner. My wife and I were there for work, but really enjoyed the solitude.
