Beautiful and secluded

We had an amazing time at Dyers Cove. Our dog was able to run leash free on the beach. The kids rescued horseshoe crabs at low tide, found sea turtles and clue crabs. Watching the sun set and rise each day was breathtaking. The house had everything needed for cooking and serving meals. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely return.

We had a great time with our kids and the dog enjoyed herself too. There were plenty of opportunities to see wildlife including great views of bald eagles, horseshoe crabs, etc. We came prepared with most things that we would need so being far from the nearest grocery store was not an issue for us. Lack of reliable cell service was also a net positive as it meant putting away the phone/computer.

My children and I got to spend an amazing week on the water at this property. The listing is exactly as advertised…small beach cottage directly on the Delaware Bay with a private beach. My boys loved searching for shells, sea creatures and sea glass every day. Close enough to Cape May and Wildwood for day trips, but it was so nice to go back to the cottage to escape the crowds. The sunsets were amazing, beds were super comfortable, and house had everything you could need. The hosts were attentive and communicated throughout our stay. We would love to come back again!!!

We were disappointed in our brief stay. Paid for 4 nights and we left less than 24 hours after arriving. As soon as we pulled up there was some kind of horse fly trap, not a good sign. The house has aged since the photos on VRBO, rot and mold on siding. The black flies follow you into the house every time you open the door(door closer doesn’t work), fly swatters hanging in every room. House smells, air fresheners are abundant, but they can’t mask the smell, it’s old and tons of moisture, hence the smell. The house is listing to the side, when you lay in the bed your feet are higher than your head, I told the owner, he stated it’s survived 3 hurricanes. Outside was advertised as a wonderland, not quite in our opinion. Broken glass litters the sand, I picked up so many shards I lost count, this is not a swimmable beach for children. They must have filled the shoreline in the past with broken concrete and cinder blocks, it’s everywhere. We found broken toilet bowl covers, bricks, glass and lots of dead horseshoe crabs. I could keep writing but I think my point has been made. After a year of quarantine this essential worker and his family were utterly disappointed.

Great location to get away from everything... We enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage with a private beach and amazing scenery! The enclosed patio was our favorite evening spot to sit and listen to the waves. Bill was always very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend. (Bring a lot of insect repellent for horseflies, depending on time of year!)

A wonderful location, excellent host, everything you need to enjoy a private beach

We enjoyed staying at this rustic bayfront cabin. Our children ages 3-12 simply loved the water and caught several nice fish. There were lots of biting flies so bring plenty of bug spray! The house is rustic but it has all the essentials.

Really cute place. Very quiet and peaceful. We seen the eagles and cranes. Loads of horseshoe crabs. Kids even seen a turtle lay eggs on the beach. The sunsets are incredible. You will need lots of bug spray.

We had an enjoyable relaxing vacation at this property. Would recommend to anyone who wants a vacation away from it all.

Loved the outside. So private and so much wildlife!

We loved our time at this place. The landscape and nature were awesome. I loved getting to watch horseshoe crabs. The house had everything we needed, we especially enjoyed grilling on the screened in deck, kayaking, and browsing the DVD collection. Would love to come back!

This was our second stay at this great little house right on a private beach on the Delaware Bay. We loved it and will hopefully be able to come back again!

This is a perfect little cabin in a fantastic, and quiet location. It’s so hard to find a rustic beach house that’s tucked away these days. Most beach houses are on top of each other and huge, and modern, and that’s just not what I was looking for. This place is a perfectly rustic cabin, with very comfortable beds, and a breathtaking view. It has all of your basic necessities, and kept both warm on a 20 degree night, and cool on a 65 degree day. The host Bill is a great guy, was always available to communicate with, and you can tell he truly loves to share this special place with others. We brought our two dogs and even though it was really windy and quite chilly during our stay, low tide was a dream for them. This place is truly what dream are made of for someone who loves rustic charm, enjoys the simple things, doesn’t want to be bothered by noise or chaos, and loves the bay. I can’t wait to come back when it’s warm and spend more time exploring, and fishing, and maybe even get back to writing. There’s so much inspiration here. Thanks Bill!

Fall retreat to the beach

Just like many other reviewers, we we’re thrilled with this house directly in the Delaware Bay. The views from the porch of both the ocean/bay and surrounding wetlands were stunning. It is completely private and we also had close-by sightings of herons, eagles, kingfishers, wild ducks, and zillions of sea birds. Great place!

Me and my partner had a wonderful long weekend here. We both work in Philadelphia and wanted to disconnect in a safe remote place due to Covid. The house was super clean! You are right on the water... the sun room is just amazing the views truly make you recenter yourself. The house had everything that you would need or think of. If you are looking to disconnect and just forget the world for a bit this is the place to go!! We will be returning soon!

We stayed here for Labor Day weekend and had a blast. We truly lucked out with the weather and you can't go wrong when the beach is 20ft from the door. Bill was super responsive and shared a lot of interesting information about the area. You really feel like you are in the middle of no where which makes for great sun rises, sunsets and star gazing. All of the wild life in the area was entertaining as well.Cell phone reception can be spotty, but that was kind of the point.Had all of the necessary kitchen appliances, though the coffee pot was only 5 cups, so we bought a 12cup one and left it there. :)The house isn't the most up to date, but it had comfortable beds, clean kitchen and bathroom, a beach right next to it and a responsive owner.all around a+ trip.

It's like you've somehow magically transported from NJ to your own private beach at lands end. The house may need a few repairs here and there, but it's clean and comfortable with a wonderful sun porch to watch sunsets and sunrises from. Walking right out onto the beach any time you want is just perfect, and our whole family loved it. Big sulfur smell with the water, but we brought our own, so it didn't matter to us. We hope to be able to go back soon, and the owners are very responsive and nice.

I wish I could have stayed longer

Definitely coming back in a couple of years. Some advices: Bring some tools to clean up the beach Some bug spray is a must Get a good air freshener (for the house, not sure why the smell is so bad, humidity probably) It's cold at night in August.... bring some hoodies Pictures not as accurate as you'd think... could't get the story where all the concretes, bricks, block and rocks came from. So keep that in mind. There are turtle eggs 8-10 inches deep in the sand, be careful with a shovel. For sure this house has a big story but i could find any information, i wish the owner could clear that out. Big thanks to the owners for everything.

We had a great stay at Bill & Kristen's cabin. The description was 100% accurate and exactly as we expected. I loved spending time on the porch over the water. The location is amazing and beautiful. We had our own beach, went kayaking, found shells, helped horseshoe crabs back to the water, etc. It was super relaxing a great time to spend with family.

We had a great time, the sounds and the Scenery and seclusion were amazing it was great to get away in this crazy time to a place where we didn’t have to worry about any other people around us or getting too close! It was great. Enough room for a 2 and 4 year old to run around .

Bill's house is amazing. We would have stayed there a month if we could have. The house is secluded and has its own private beach. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is perfectly equipped to cook crabs, lobsters, but also grilled meats. It was a real pleasure to be able to swim at any time, to kayak, to observe the extremely rich fauna (blue crabs, horseshoe crabs, eagles, fireflies, ...). We even had the chance to see dozens of turtles swimming to the sand to lay their eggs! The terrace behind the house allows us to enjoy the magnificent sunsets. The veranda in front of the house allows us to dine surrounded by water. Finally, Bill was a great help with everything and even told us the history of this lovely house.This place is quiet and beautiful. It is a true haven of peace.

My time at Bill's cabin on the bay was everything I'd hoped: peaceful, quiet, relaxing. I came away truly refreshed, and I'm now trying to figure out when I can get there again! The cabin was very clean and well-stocked with all the necessary linens, paper goods, condiments, and a variety of insect repellent options. Thankfully the bugs weren't bad in mid-September. I chanced to be there during full moon... what glorious nights with the moon and the waves and the bay breeze. And all of that without the touristy clamor I generally associate with time at the beach. Kayaking through the marsh was delightful and peaceful. And the birds - eagles, ospreys, terns, egrets, heron... simply amazing! The spigot water had a sulphur smell, (which I understand is not uncommon at the beach), and Bill graciously provided spring water to use. He was attentive to every concern and responded within hours to my communications. The cabin is cozy, fully equipped, comfortable but not luxurious. A great place to unwind and refresh.

We really enjoyed the quiet remote experience this property offers. Family and pet friendly. Don’t worry about forgetting something, house was packed with anything you could possibly need. Although property is remote we found 2 restaurants nearby.
