ok hotel voor een overnachting als je in Wakefield moet zijn. Voor werk prima te doen, voor vakantie wat minder. Leuke locatie aan het park

Vriendelijkheid en flexibiliteit van personeel kan beter - we werden de pub haast uitgejaagd aan het eind van de avond

Room’s very nice clean and well decorated

Entrance to reception area was very shabby and needed a good cleaning. It’s at the back of the restaurant kitchen and the sight of loads of rat boxes around is very off putting. It was raining when we arrived and there’s no easy way from the car park is far away from entrance.The breakfast in the restaurant is very poor in by quality and service, on first morning it was soo burnt up it was inedible. After that I just had continental which was adequate at best. The staff needs to improve customer focus.

Location, availability.

Prefer shower only bathrooms, elderly have difficulty getting into baths! Necessitated a room move to a disabled room with two single beds. Had to move together. Duvets too heavy and warm for summer. Requested single sheet which was supplied.

I have stayed at many hotels. And a lot that are more expensive than The Holmfield Arms. But I have to say that this is the best hotel I have stayed in over the years. May be personal preference but the hotel just seemed to tick all of the boxes for me. The hotel got everything right that I would like in a Hotel. Lovely grounds. Lots of outdoor seating. Modern lovely quiet rooms with lovely bathroom and furnishings. The site has a lovely serene feel to it and I just felt completely comfortable walking around and spending time around the hotel as a single female traveller. The food on the pub site was gorgeous. Comfortable beds. Lots of areas to sit and work from but to relax at as well. I felt comfortable and safe during my stay. The staff even put my breakfast in a take out container for work. Just a lovely place to stay with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Will definately be staying there again. Best hotel I have stayed at in years!

Nothing at all. Only downfall was parking. Lots of it but a very sloping hill area. Flat parking was at the front of the pub but was full with visitors to the pub. So had to park on an incline on higher parking and walk down steep steps. But it was worth it for the hotel itself so I cannot comment negatively on this. Just pointing it out.

The hotel is in a quiet area surrounded by parks and nature, but still within walking distance of the city centre (10-15 mins). Our room was nice, clean, tidy, and quiet, also rather spacious. We had booked a double room but were given one that had a single plus a large (LARGE!) double bed, which was cool. I also enjoyed having a bathtub! What's also perfect is that there's a restaurant attached that serves excellent food, including amazing breakfast. We had initially booked without breakfast, then decided we wanted some, and thankfully it was not a problem at all as it was possible to just pay for it at the restaurant. There's ample free parking outside if you arrive by car. Staff was friendly and helpful. We used this hotel as a basis for excursions to nearby Sandal & Pontefract castles, and once went by bus to Leeds, which was easy as well. Would definitely recommend the Holmfield Arms!

On the day of our arrival the kitchen closed at 6pm due to maintenance; we arrived 6:30 so that was a bit unfortunate as we had to head out again to find some food; nearby pub was closed as well unfortunately.
