The friendly atmosphere at the hotel, the staff and owners make you feel very welcome. Great value for money, clean rooms and common areas. Small pleasant walk to beach.

Istana is an excellent and delightful place to stay. Rooms are great and facilities very good. Michael and Komang are excellent hosts. Staff very hospitable and friendly. Food was delicious. Location was excellent with quick easy access to beach and village.

Everything about this property was wonderful! My friend that was traveling with me experienced an injury the first day there and the staff and owner were extremely helpful in making the stay as comfortable as possible for him, including letting us borrow a scooter to seek medical attention, bringing food to our room to limit his movement, and bringing ice for him. Location and property are beautiful and food was exceptional and of good value!

The location of this property was great! Had a lovely few of the surrounds from our balcony and you could just see the ocean as well. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked great.

The room was very dark in the evening as not all of the lights worked.

The staff are very hospitable and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. My room was beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic. I'll definitely be back one day. Thanks Istana Balian.

Clean, comfortable beds and bathroom. Breakfast included with large selection of options. Good choice of traditional Bali and Aussie lunch and dinner options. Five minute walk to beach or shops. Excellent service.

No money change available in the town of Balian Beach. The beach is beautiful fine black sand but more suited to surfing than swimming.

I wanted to treat myself for one night and I'm beyond happy with my choice of booking at Istana: the place is great and it's very relaxing, food is absolutely delicious and it's very close to the beach. Cheers to the staff who's also absolutely lovely and very, very helpful!

great location five minute walk from beach and restaurants. we stayed in two story villa and the second story had an amazing balcony with awesome view and hang out zone. staff were very welcoming and helpful. food was great. awesome yoga studio five min walk away. we would definitely own back.

the restaurant at night was over taken by sport lovers watching rugby and AFL. good if you like that stuff. bad if you want the full Bali emersion. but there were some other great restaurants down the road.

Staff and owner Mick do everything possible to make a great stay. Food and beverages excellent.

Lovely property and setting. The staff looked after me super well. You really feel taken care of and treated like a friend. Istana has all the touches that mark a place out as high quality - great linen and towels, scrupulously clean etc.

All was good for the length I stayed

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the staff with the news of an upgrade till departure the customer service level was exceptional, nothing was a problem The restaurant food was so good I ordered the fish twice and of course washed down with icy cold beers. Great location, off street parking, perfect temperature pool, easy walk to surf beach, perfect for short or long stays. Thank you to everyone at Istana you made our stay one we will never forget.

Some of the guys there (not the checkin staff) I didn’t think were particularly friendly as made no effort to include in conversations at afternoon check in and evening.

I had a nice stay in this hotel, which is well located in Balian Beach. Staff was very nice and helpful! It would be great if they could add a little shampoo in the bathroom :)

I like everything about this place, stayed here for the second time. They have amazing pancakes for breakfast, everyone should try it❤️ Nice and clean pool, big comfy bed, walking distance from the beach and great view from our balcony

Everything is perfect!

Helpful staff and changed the room because of the AC.

Our room was not the same as in the photo. A.C. was filthy, looked like it had never been cleaned...full of dust and dried yellow liquid and mould. The price on the blackboard outside was 65,000rp cheaper than we paid. Not enough hot water for a bath.
