Ambience, great location

Food was not available at the Restaurant post 8PM at night

Car park, and I stored by bike inside the hotel.

Large, airy rooms. Period features.

Quality of products and materials/textiles in the room. Plenty of tea,coffee etc.

Speed of lift. Pricy breakfast which I therefore decided to miss.

All Staff were very helpful and curtious throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble went above and beyond to both welcome and gave excellent service and all very friendly at all times

No plug socket near the mirror for the hairdryer!!

Beautiful property! rooms very clean and spacious! Staff were all lovely and very helpful, food was also beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

The room was spacious, heating was spot on, sound deadening was great and the bed was comfortable. We'll worth the visit. The food in the hotel was exceptional! We had a couple of portions of food during our stay and I think even Gordon Ramsey wouldn't be able to pick fault at any of what we had! The bar staff were great too! We asked for an ice bucket and 2 fizz glasses as we had brought our own champagne for the room and they had no objections to providing these. Some other places we have stayed have raised eyebrows or objected to this. Top marks for The Duke! Will stay here again!

If I had to nit pick, the bathroom could have done with a spray of mould and mildew remover along the grout and silicone sealant in the bathroom as it was showing signs of black mould patches but nothing excessive that couldn't be cleaned.

Prices for drinks and food expensive this was a factor in us not having breakfast or drinks on our second day

I didn't like as we expect that the hotel is rated as 4 stars however the heating wasn't working since the day we came. I kept raising this concern however was resolved temporarily on the 3rd day of our stay. We slept in a cold room with a very small portable heating as remedy to keep us warm. For 3 nights we were in the hotel I didn't slept well and enjoyed my stay as I was shivering and uncomfortable. The staff were ok however what can they do to mend the issue. This must have been checked before accepting visitors. No manager to talk to or has even attended the issue.
