The location is very convenient for restaurants, taxi and West lake.

The room temperature was 25C and unable to turn down the temperature. It’s too hot at night and sweating.

Stayed June 15-18. Terribly dissatisfied and disappointed with the air conditioning being automatically cut off by the hotel each night. We woke up drenched in sweat with no air movement in our room at all. The temperature was stagnant and not reaching the setpoint because the control was no longer from the room. We asked the front desk why this was happening, they told us the AC gets turned off nightly!? We instructed them to please not turn it off in our room in the night. Again we woke up drenched in the early morning, called the front desk and they immediately turned the AC back on in our room and gave control to us of the unit in our room. Temperature control of a room is an amenity listed, and should be a given for Sofitel hotels. Extremely disappointed in this bizarre practice. Disrupted our sleep and rest on vacation. Do not recommend to stay there unless you are accustomed to sleeping without air conditioning .

Staff are courteous. Location near West Lake. Roof top viewing was good.

Building was nice. Location not near metro stations, and walking from metro to hotel involved going down/up stairs and tunnels. Okay if you are going by taxi/car. The air conditioning was not working during our stay. A bit overpriced even when compared to Shanghai City centre hotels

Convenient location, within walking distance to the metro line. Many eateries around. Staff were very helpful and in particular service staff at the breakfast restaurant, they were very polite and can see that they worked very hard during the busy hours - good job! 💪

Smoking coming through the air vent in the middle of the night and it was so bad cos it woke me up. I tried to ignore it and continue sleeping but the smell was really unbearable. So I was moved to another room and this was really inconvenient 😞 I have heard similar reviews before my stay and wondered if the hotel can do something about it, implement some very strict rules and enforcing them?!??

There’s strong cigarettes smell get into my room around midnight and we can’t sleep so the hotel offer another room to move. Even it’s prohibited to smoke in the room, he can’t find where the source of the smell. My bad luck.
