The decor of the hotel and room is beautiful, with a comfortable bed and nice toiletries. The staff is amazing. The hotel porter even de-iced my car's windscreen in the morning. Top service! Outstanding breakfast and the bar is open until 4 am (if you are a guest).

Wi-Fi was dropping at times.

Room expensive for what it was. Dog crying constantly next door. Shower very poor and temperature constantly fluctuated. Bed uncomfortable.

Heating not on in room prior to arrival and didn’t work in bathroom at all. Cafetière with one sachet of caffeinated coffee rather 1970’s.

Breakfast was sub par; had avocado on toast and the toast was burnt and the avocado wasn’t ripe and hard! Left most of it but they took it off my bill.

I requested the hotel room be decorated for my partners 30th and posted up the decorations. This was never done with no explanation or apology, never received the decorations back. The room was dusty could see it on the furniture and the bathroom was tiny had mould on the walls. Couldn’t turn the tap on fully as it had been fitted too close to the sink! A really disappointing stay for the price we paid for a special occasion.

Hotel is right in the centre, opposite the Abbey. The hotel has had a refurb on the ground floor and the restaurant and bar ares and lounge areas are very nice. The rooms are good although ours was looking out over the air conditioning units and the kitchen so was very noisy and smelly

The bedroom was a let down not up to a 4 star standard. Although the bed was comfortable the room was very noisy,jaded decor, paintwork peeling in the bathroom.I complained and they dealt with it promptly. Management seriously need to review the bedrooms and upgrade some.

The restaurant was excellent. Booking was easy and the food was delicious. The porters were both lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Bed and bed linen were fantastic. Great sleep. Wifi was free.

Room 115 was dark and dingy. Painted institutional green with one tiny light. Felt like the worst room in the hotel. We booked two rooms for the same price and the other was large and bright. So were lots of other rooms that we walked past with open doors. We just drew a very short straw. I stayed there before and had a fantastic room. If the rooms can vary so drastically I would not risk it in future. There is no lift in the hotel and lots of stairs. My 80 year old mother struggled.
