Beatiful garden with lovely old style building in a very convenient location near Laredo’s beach !
should have been provided with at least a fan or some form
of air-conditioning as humidity was high even in mid-summer. Could open windows onto garden, but this let in flies !

No air conditioning and the bed was a bit small.

This hotel needs investment. No plugs bear bed and only 1 working. No water in rooms. Bath took 30 mins to fill ( water was not really hot). Breakfast was simple and nice. It’s maritime touches are nice but the furniture is old and uncomfortable and not re upholstered for years.
It’s not good value. It’s old and uncomfortable. The room was cold with limited tv options. No water in rooms and no food. It has not been renovated in years. Bed was not really comfortable. Water was not really hot ( at full temperature it was not overly warm)

Family history of the hotel and Tour de France and merchant navy connections. It felt as if we were on board an old Union Castle passenger ship. All wonderful.
Breakfast was a little too basic for us pilgrims (not enough protein).

The staff was friendly. Breakfast was fine.
The whole hotel needs to be updated. The beds aren't comfortable and carpets are old and stained. It needs to get a remodel. Didn't like Laredo either, the town is run down looking.

The staff were such lovely, friendly people that helped us with anything we needed. The breakfast in the garden was lovely and the perfect amount of food. Such a nice hotel overall.

The bartender was friendly and helpful.
There was basically no hot water for a shower, and we had to go down to the reception desk to get a hairdryer.

great bar, super garden for bfast, loved the libraries. staff is terrific, took good care of us.

Staff are so friendly.Beautiful location.Beach is 2min walk away. 10 min walk to Loredo town. Would defo stay here again xx

a truly beautiful window into the world of Laredo very happy we stayed at the el ancla an special thanks to everybody who looked after us so good this past week
