Location and Yannis Tikki bar out the front! super friendly bar staff and cool vibes and tunes - gorgeous cocktails. The 2 ladies on Hotel Reception are also lovely and helpful.

The pool view is a building site unfortunately at the moment and the breakfast was quite poor. tried it once over the 6 nights and decided to eat out every other morning. Also had a room facing reception meaning every morning from 7 or 8am you could hear every conversation happening. if you want a lie in maybe requests a higher floor for your stay.

Very nice place to stay, comfortable, spacious, clean and fresh room, very well equipped: coffee maker, kettle,fridge, professional and very kind and heplful hosts, and all people who work there

I had an excellent communication with them.The breakfast was really delicious and contained a great variety of food, the service was very quick, and we really enjoyed the sea view from the terrace while having our breakfast! The room was amazing and very clean! I would surely stay at this hotel again and I totally recommend it to other guests! I 'd give 10 out of 10!

The room was large, clean, comfortable and had a wonderful view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the old town but there are also plenty of amenities more locally, and a beach opposite the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Batis!They treated us very kindly at breakfast and they offered us a great variety of tastes.From the rooftop where the breakfast is served we enjoyed the terrific view! The sea was very clean at the beach and the swimming pool was very well maintained! Thank you!

Excellent view and location, very nice staff

The staff was so friendly - Ismini made us feel so welcome, and the other lady at breakfast (so sorry forgot her name!) reminded me of my godmother; nothing was ever too much trouble and her food was delicious! We made use of the beach and the service Maria provided with bringing us drinks whenever we wanted (having a bar attached to the hotel was a great bonus after a day exploring and not wanting to venture too far for cocktails!). The room was great value, having a balcony overlooking the streets rather than the sea actually suited us well, we felt we were in the mix of normal Cretan life (and I loved spying the local cats every day!). The staff really make this place; its location is great for all our excursions; being opposite the beach was amazing - but the personal touches of Ismini and co. made our stay at Batis really exceptional. We will hopefully be returning next year!

Maybe an extra bed sheet in the room as my partner enjoyed the air conditioning being on at night which left me a bit cold! But I'm sure if I had asked for anything extra it would've been provided so it was my own fault really!

Very low quality and old hotel. Very expensive for that facilities. Unrepresentative photos. Difficult entrance. Inexperienced staff. Clogged siphons of the sink and shower. Non soundproofing rooms. Pool is inthe back yard of the hotel without the sun.

This is a beautiful family run hotel situated on the beach. I would rate it above 3 stars just below a 4 star hotel. We had a refurbished very clean room with a sea view which was spacious and comfortable.

The breakfast needs to be improved to offer more variety. I would suggest a “ closed” buffet with the food exposed and the hosts serving the guests. I have seen this in many hotels after the pandemic and this works really well.

The room was spacious and recently remodeled. The balcony was large and the clear retailing made it easy to enjoy the view.

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Batis!! The staff are very warm and welcoming, the hotel is in a fantastic location- across from the beach, 15 minutes walk to the old town. Excellent service overall, clean and responsive. Nice rooftop breakfast. Staff very helpful in arranging taxis and recommendations for dining. A quiet, clean pool to relax by.

If you are looking for a quiet sleep, perhaps seek further away from the main Street. Great nightlife- as expected- so it was a little bit loud!

The staff were super nice and very helpful!, the location was at a perfect spot, few minutes for mini market and restaurants! and parking was very convenient as well!

Property is very important but also even more important are people working there… For this hotel you get both… Property on good location ,modern very stylish. You have everything you need. For the people working there , including Ismini , Mary , Aris , cleaning ladies …. We felt from day one as a part of family. They were always there for us , to help out ,to give us suggestions…. We loved our stay at Batis Beach hotel. Personel was always smiled, nice and very helpfull - Isimini thank you for all the recommendations in Rethymno :-) Despite of late arrival to the hotel they were waiting for us to give us a key and explain how everything works. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace with a great view of Rethymno. We had a room that wasn't renovated yet but it Was still very clean and comfortable.

The reception staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable and the balcony was a really good size. The beach was just across the road and was beautiful. There's a big shelf full of books you can read and swap near reception, which was lovely, and the bar does good cocktails. The large beanbags on the beach were so comfortable and such fun, perfect for some reading time.

Our room looked much older than the one pictured on Booking.com which was a little misleading - I feel like it needs modernising and they've perhaps done some rooms and not others. Lots of dark wood and too much furniture for the room, really. The beach bar service was not great, just one woman who spent most of the time flirting with older men instead of bringing drinks.

Batis Beach Hotel is an amazing place for both short and long stay, we stayed for 7 nights and were happy about everything: recently renovated and a very comfortable and clean room, amazing sea view from the balcony (magnificent sunset as well), excellent service, friendliest and attentive staff. As a family-owned business, you can really feel the personalized attitude towards every guest and any question asked, any extra request was addressed and fulfilled. Breakfast is quite big and very tasty, served at the beautiful rooftop area with the seaview. Big thanks to Ismini and Aris for checking on the feedback everyday, giving plenty of advice and helping with everything along the stay, including the possibility of later check-out. WiFi was also very good! Hotel is located at the walking distance to the old town of Rethymno and surrounded by everything needed - tavernas, supermarkets, tours bureaus, car rentals. Overall we had a fantastic stay and highly recommend the hotel, we would love to come back again.

The location was perfect and the facilities provided everything you could want. The family owned hotel was friendly and did everything they could to make us comfortable.

Batis is a family run hotel. The hosts are wonderful people, always smiling and trying their best to make you feel welcome and confortabile. The hotel is placed near the beach, the area is surrounded by nice tavernas and small supermarkets. The view we had from the terrace was astonishing, every night we could see the beautiful sunsets of Crete.
