An excellent traditional hotel. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was very large and comfortable. Great night’s sleep. The location was very convenient for our walk along the South Downs Way.

Nice people, decent food, comfortable room, & a really interesting location near the South Downs Way with a ruined castle & a lot of incredible old buildings. A good local hangout kind of place, unpretentious & not gentrified.
No downside, it was great for our needs. But if you want something with centuries-old ambiance & Period decor, this would not be your cuppa.

Clean and warm rooms, delicious and reasonably priced food, along with excellent customer service, can truly make a stay memorable. A delicious breakfast is always a great way to start the day on the right foot, especially when it is served by an excellent breakfast team.

Staff were great. Service, great. Food, fabulous. A lovely stay, made to feel very welcome. The owner's artwork on the walls is amazing in the restaurant.
Car park is a little tight for big cars. I would return in a heartbeat.

It was a bit dated and the floor was uneven.
It was also very hot in the bedrooms and not very clean- hairs and dust!

There was no one there to greet and direct me to my room. I was left written instructions on the counter. The kettle in the room was disgusting and unusable. I ordered an early breakfast but none was produced for me.

We stayed overnight at The Castle Inn Hotel in Bramber while walking the South Downs Way. A nice welcome from the young staff and a large, comfortable room on the second floor. A very good katsu chicken curry for dinner, with a glass of ale from the local micro brewery. A good night's rest and a great choice of breakfast options to set us up for our walk the next day - I had a huge mushroom and cheese omelette!

On-site parking. Helpful staff. Everything well thought out within limited space. Great facilities, & clean. A la carte breakfast included. Dined PM in the hotel's restaurant (supplementary). Wanted a second night's stay, but unsurprisingly fully booked.
Booking.com's multiple communications. Confirmation, reminder, payment advice, payment taken, all generate a huge email repeating the hotel's T&Cs (12!)
