Friendly staff, location

No elevator, no phone in room, no ac/heat

A charming old building in the old town centre, very convenient for public transport. The accommodation was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pleasant (though could have done with more variety). The bathroom was small but everything worked well. Staff were polite.

Our room was rather small and dark, and bore no resemblance to the photos on the website, which we found a bit disappointing, especially as we were staying for a week. Only one chair and a small wardrobe seemed a bit inadequate for a double room. The church bells didn't disturb us, but there was some noise (possibly from a kitchen fan) below our room which was very irritating at night and in the early morning.

This is a small, charming hotel in the outskirts of Zurich (15-20min by train, with a station 200m down the road) by the lake. Staff really friendly, comfortable bed, nice toiletries and, in my case, a spacious single room. I am keen to return with my family for a leisurely stay one day.

Floors can be a bit creaky, which is part of old world charm. Not necessarily a problem but just something you’d need to be mindful so as not to disturb other guests.

Location is excellent , in the centre of Horgen. Very convenient for buses and trains . Staff are very good , and speak English which is useful. Breakfast included and was basic but very good .

Be prepared to climb the stairs - no lift available. But acceptable considering this is a traditional historic Swiss building
