Maven is a hidden, secret paradise. You really don't know you're there until you see your parking spot. All the cabins are off gravel paths, so they have helpful wagons to aid in getting your things to the cabins. Our cabin was very modern and comfortable, with a great kitchen, bathroom, living room and deck. The hosts Anne and Stefan are very welcoming, extremely generous with their time and rightly proud of their creation. There is no way to describe the setting, with walkways leading to all the different buildings open to guests. Anne led us on a tour of the grounds, while Stefan shared some construction tips and showed off one of his new cabins opening soon. This is the kind of place that makes you want to cancel the rest of your plans and stay put. We just happened to choose Kappelshamn as a stopping point on a bike journey, and we feel very lucky to have found Maven.

This has nothing to do with Maven, but the location is kind of remote. We were traveling by bike, so planned ahead and got supplies in Stenkyrka before. If you are traveling here by bike, like we did, the one caveat I would give is to plan ahead and get enough food so you don't have a five-mile journey for supplies after you finally arrive. This goes double if you are traveling at the end of the season.

On our cycling trip along the Gotlandsleden, we really enjoyed the warm welcome by Anne, the quiet location of the well equipped cottages in the nature and the nightly view into the sky with the Milky Way. The lovingly designed resort is a good base for different outdoor activities in the area!

Me and my wife had a relaxing and in essens a fabulous time! Highly recommended for anyone who want to getaway from the daily buzz.

Fantastic and unique oasis that is comfortable and has all the necessities while still being a part of the nature. The hosts are more than wonderful and make sure all your wishes are met.

Make sure you have a car to get all the groceries, the nearest store is a bit far away.
