Attentive staff, good food and drink reasonably priced, peaceful location, characterful property

Approach roads are very narrow, bedroom has a very small window and was hot. (window needs cleaning!)

From the moment we arrived. We were made to feel very welcome. We had a large comfortable room and the supper and breakfast were very good indeed.

The only downside was a very creaky single bed in our room. My husband snores, so we will use twin beds if possible and every time he turned over the whole bed, made a lot of noise

Lovely setting in the Dartmoor countryside, the room was comfortable, and it was great to stay in such an old cottage with so much character. The breakfast was lovely and ordered the day before to be served at a scheduled time. The staff and owners were very nice and helpful. They helped organise a taxi for us which isnquite difficult in such a remote location.

I didn't like that I was charged for a 2nd person on the second day. Maybe it was my mistake to choose a 2-person stay.

We loved the old quirky aspect of staying in an inn that's around 800 years old. The pub was very fun. A traditional English pub. Beautiful surroundings. Also the inn keeper loves telling you about the history of this place. Also great English breakfast.

This is the quintessential English pub experience - what all pubs should be like. The food was really good and the owners were very friendly and accommodating.

We pick Cridford for its location (quiet). We booked a table for evening meal purposely as the inn was remote. The table was booked for 7.45. They had no steak, venison or anything else we fancied. We reluctantly chose fish & chips, which finally arrived at 9.45 not at all nicely cooked so we left it. The bed needs replacing creeks with every movement.
