Location and very helpful host

Parking, pet friendly and location. The parking was very good, private and secure and we got a spot right under a tree, so that the car did not get super hot. The apartment was big, with a separate room for the bedroom. It also had a washing machine in the kitchen, which is a big plus. The owner was very friendly and told us that the apartment is in a really good spot if you want right on the edge of the touristy part, but also next to the part where the locals eat and drink. We got the best of two world by staying here.

The owner warned us about ants in the apartment and gave us a spray to kill them, but since we had our dog with us we did not want to use it too much. As soon as we saw ants, we immediately got rid of them, then they appeared again and so on, and after the first night we did not see any more ants. Since it wasn't that much of work for us to get rid of them (at least during our stay), we wished the owner might have tried to get rid of them instead of us.

Location, close to old town centre and lake. Desenzano great base from which to explore from.

Street is a little noisy, but not surprising given how close it is to town centre.

Property was away from central square but only 200-300 yards from main tourist areas. It was very peaceful and local food shops were only 5 minutes away. Host was very helpful and available by phone when required Ferries and bus routes were only 10 minutes away and both had acceptable timetables enabling us to visit 5 local resorts/towns.

As my wife has a pacemaker, incline on road to apartment was tiresome on occasions especially in the very hot weather but always managed.
