Words cannot express the experience that we had in Monte Ingles. This is a heavenly place and the ONE and ONLY choice that you should have in mind when visiting Sao Miguel. I had a great time here in a beautiful environment. Senhora Carolina is a wonderful woman, humorous, hospitable and ready to help with advice and information about the island. Every day you will be greeted by a cheerful dog with short legs. I brought home a lot of good memories from this place. All recommendations!!!

The house had humidity issues, with marks in the walls and floor. The installations were very cold, with not enough heating. Bad smell (horse feces) in the opened areas. No wifi available. I would not recommend the stay, specially for people with breathing problems.

Great host who is knowledgeable about the island and provided very useful recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat. Also a lovely dog that comes and greets us every time we are back! Bedroom and facilities were kept clean and tidy every day by one of the employees who also very kindly washed and dried out clothes during our stay. Location is perfect too.

Owner is super helpful and the house itself is magical. It is possible to ride the horses on request. Rooms are clean and spacious, definately would recommend.

Everything was just perfect.

– We absolutely love the concept of living on a farm close to horses. We started every day with greeting and sometimes feeding (bought some carrots in Pingo Doce) all 10+ horses that were literally our neighbours. – Host and staff were very pleasant. If you are here be sure to take a horse riding class from the hosts. We've been completely thrilled after the class. – We liked the apartments - lots of space, large comfortable bed, BBQ zone, atmospheric interior. – Location is very good if you have a car

At first my girlfriend was very sensitive to the farm smell. But actually after 1 day on a farm we started to like it.

Beautiful and spacious room, the entire house is very elegant, the friendly hostess, riding lessons, very clean, were allowed to use the common kitchen, fee tea and coffee at all times, beautiful garden

There was one mosquitoes during one of our nights which drove us crazy this night.

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was our second visit. We came back after 7 years and rented the same apartment. Nothing has changed - the offer is reliable, attractive and at the same time competitively priced. The owner, as usual, was very kind and helpful - for example, she was waiting for us even though we arrived after midnight and we found all the necessary items in the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The advantage of Monte Inglês is its location: 10 minutes by car from the airport, yet in a quiet location. The facility may be of particular interest to people who like horses. The owner has her own stable and a professional riding school (you can take horse riding lessons).

Nothing needs improvement.

Located outside of the build up area somreally away of the city area. You need to have a car or take a taxi which is very reasonable price. The country house is real charming with a lot of characters. It is a big property with lovely gardens and a barn next to the house. The room upstair is big but due to the thick stone wall, the wifi signal is not working in the room. You can still use it outside in the lounge area so only minor inconvenience. The kitchen has all utensils needed. As there is not many restaurants nearby, it comes in handy to prepare simple meal in the house. Our host Carolina is very helpful and friendly. She told us all places to gisit in the island.

Hopefully the wifi network will be replaced soon. Secondly the double bed in our room is not that stable and making squeaky sound whenever he turns. Eventually he rather slept on the floor. In the bathroom, suggest to leave a glass there for use which will be more convenient.

The owner was very nice and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable.

We were made to feel so welcome, it was as if you were staying with friends.

Breakfast was not available nor included in the price. Complimentary coffee, very good, and cookies. The property provides a bucolic stay, quiet, surrounded by green space, pastures, idyllic surroundings. Wake up to the chirping of birds and call to get going from the nearby rooster. The property also boards superb Lusitanian pure bred horses, offers an indoor exercise area, suited for dressage and riding. Outdoors owners of horses regularly come at the end of the day and take their charges for a a trot or gallop in the nearby fields. The grounds around the property are lovely, a small pond with water plants and you are being serenaded by the local frogs. One advice! after your arrival and unwinding, if you are spending time on the island, you must rent a vehicle. We rented a Smart Car sitting two, no luggage to explore the island. The island of Sao Miguel might be called the lost or undiscovered paradise. It is ever blooming with a large variety of flora, hydrangeas are the stars. The food and wines are superb, a paradise for lovers of the ocean's bounty. We did love Monte Ingles for the seclusion and privacy it provided. Paul Lankau Saint Augustine, Florida
