Great location in the north of la palma. Great views from the garden. Also in the house almost everything was present. Kitchen was very well equiped.

Only thing we missed was a kettle to boil water for tea.

Ideal for our needs to hike in the north of the island. Peaceful quiet location. Well equipped comfortable clean house. Whilst the house is rural and fairly basic it was better equipped and more comfortable than some others we have stayed in around this location.

Beautiful house in a stunning location. It was so quiet but an easy 10 minute walk into the village. The sunsets were mesmerising and the stars incredible. We absolutely fell in love with Los Hondas - glorious!

This is a beautiful clean house, facing the sea with nothing in front of you (well you are still 350 m above the sea) but the view to the sea. There are two small bedrooms, a large living/dining room with a nicely equipped kitchen and an additional grill and terrace for you to enjoy the outside. If you want to gaze the stars or enjoy a quiet time away this is ideal. While it is isolated and nobody will bother you there, it is also not so far away from the rest of the island. A bus stop is nearby, there is a small store, a couple of cafes and a restaurant within easy walking distance. The Wi-Fi actually works quite decently (i.e. you can Netflix and chill if you really want to), but that is probably not the reason to come to La Palma. For stargazing there is a nice terrace and you get good view to the S and W, the E is behind the house and the N has a couple of lights. If you want to go higher up, you are actually very well situated to climb as much as you like (the peak is about 25km away, but is quite a drive), there are many spots where you can stop at intermediate points. There are some excellent restaurants around that you can explore, and it is a very charming location. You just have to invest some effort in getting to places :)

Just a warning, these are not negative things, but just things to consider: It is probably possible to stay here using only public transit. But it is much better suited for a car. You will need to drive a lot of small and twisty roads to get more or less anywhere (the airport is about 1.5 hours away and it is not an easy drive). And you drive 10km in narrow twisty roads to get to the main road and then you still will drive more. I loved it, but not everyone is thrilled with driving so much. There is also quite a bit of elevation change, if you are thinking about biking, make sure you have a good map, and check the elevation changes. We had a bit of an issue getting the key, make sure you have the phone number to contact the owner (they will usually contact you using the assistant after booking and provide this). Shops and restaurants have limited opening hours, check first, we were very surprised to find how early some restaurants close (it was a bit after the season, maybe that is also why). The last three days we had the SE wind Calima, which brings sand from Africa, so visibility was limited. I am told this does not happen very often, but still keep this in mind, if you are planning for an observation stay.
