The view was amazing and once we figured out the bus tickets we were good. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk over to the Piccadilly ceramic shop, where the owners and staff are wonderful and helpful. We had coffee/expresso there a few times and purchased some items as well. The bus stop in front of the villa is not being used due to some roadway work being done at the location. Serafina is the owners rep that will meet you and she was like a concierge for us - making dinner reservations and helping out with transportation when needed, she also can arrange outings for you. The grotto Smeraldo is a must see over by the ceramic shop and there is a water taxi to Almalfi right from there as well.
There was an ant problem so make sure you have spray for them- check that you have a full can or more than 1, as they are on the deck area and in the bathrooms. It is mainly because of the grapes/vines that cover the veranda but if they weren't there you would be in direct sunlight all day. The WIFI never worked for us when we were there so be prepared for that. The pool was nice but "closes" at 7pm..... this would've been nicer if it was able to be used after 7pm. There is no place local to buy tickets for the bus so you will have to try online, which we were never successful with, or hope you get a bus driver that carries tickets for your first ride- once you get to your location you can get tickets for all your needs.

The host was amazing!!! Helped us with all our needs, transport, groceries, booking experiences. No questions went unanswered. Super friendly. Must do lemoncello making with dinner.
Nothing.

The view was amazing and having the pool to cool off was necessary. Serafina was very helpful.
Ants are a huge problem here. The bathroom was covered in hundreds of small ants around the toilet and sink. We had to spray to kill them and clean them up every day.

Location was great
No cleaning services
2nd bathroom was way too small

The appartment was spacious and clean, the properly manager was super helpful and assisted us with arrangements of dinners and local tours.
We enjoyed spending some time on the balcony with the view on the sea and tiny lizards. The parking was available in the garage.
It’s 15 min walk down to the beach, which was mostly used by locals and has good restaurants.
The first day we had no hot water, but the property manager was able to fix it the next morning, however hot water wasn’t running in the kitchen, so doing dishes was a bit difficult.
The WiFi didn’t work and the regular phone reception was working well when being outside on the balcony. So if you plan to do some work while staying here, it won’t be possible.
If the wifi can’t be fixed because of the location (villa located behind a cliff) I would advise to remove the wifi from the list of facilities.

Spacious accommodation with 3 good sized rooms plus bathroom (no bathtub though).
Great view.
One bit of advice for anyone staying here - you will need a hire car because the roads are treacherous to walk along.
Don't hire a wide vehicle because the roads all along the coast and up to the nice villages are very narrow and twisting. We got away with it by some very careful driving.
You are at risk of smashing your wing mirrors and get a hefty penalty or lose your excess unless you hire a small/narrow car!!
There is an underground car park tunneled into the cliff; getting in and out of it onto the main road is tricky.
Serafina was good with check-in, although it was over 2 hours later than we had asked.
But she dismally failed to get the hot water working for us; luckily the shower had its own hot water.
Impossible to do washing up in the sink unless we boiled a kettle.
"Hot" water was only ever tepid at best (only seemed to run hot on one solitary occasion in the basin in the bathroom, that's it). We did try running it for several minutes at a time but no success - Serafina agreed no hot water when we showed her.
No heating in the apartment (and we did mention this more than once), could be a problem for some.
Swimming pool not in use - disappointing in May.
If two couples were using this apartment then one would have to walk through the other couple's bedroom to reach the toilet.
"Smart" TV couldn't get any channels via netflix etc., which were meant to be functioning; only occasional access to local TV channels and despite us asking Serafina to help us how to use it/fix it, nothing had happened by the final afternoon of our stay, so I gave up told her not to bother!
Difficult to recommend this apartment to anyone in its present state/facilities.
Were the owners compromising on standards because there were only 2 apartments in use?

Villa Carmela is situated in a very beautiful spot in Conca dei Marini; just facing the sea, with large airy terrasses. The appartment was clean, pretty and calm, good privacy also. Pool area is nice, 'in the nature'. We were kindly received and very flexibly since we needed to change our arrival time. We got a lot of help from the host with breakfast, advice and even bus tickets, also with the transport as our flights changed to a nightly one so it was really appreciated by us.
There is road going by from which some noise arises but one gets used to it. Wifi does not function that well due to mountains I suppose but that is somehow good also. One can walk to the small beach and to the bus stop but it would have been worthwhile to have a car since all the services are far. We moved by bus though.

We were met by Sarah who went through everything from keys to local amenities. She kindly gave us a lift to the local supermarket and supported promptly with any queries we had during our stay. The view from the Villa is stunning and the pool is very clean and well kept.
The info on booking.com is misleading re the pool. It talks about units and private pool, but does not specify "shared pool". This, however, was not a problem as most of the time we had the area to ourselves and at other times all guests were very respectful of each other.
The ants and gnats are a bit of a problem, but you are given ant powder and make sure you take your 'jungle spray'......the beautiful outdoors is definitely worth it!

Serafina was our hostess. She came to property to let us in and explain facilities. She also helped with a broken screen, grocery shopping options, and the aftermath of a thunderstorm that damaged the area. Views were spectacular! Local busses stopped at Grotto Smeraldo, so no car needed. We connected to Positano and Amalfi easily on busses. We discovered the boccci court on the hillside, under a grape arbor--wonderful for family games.
Pull down screens were hard to see and caused accidents in the doorways, especially at dusk. We loved the elevator to street level, especially with luggage. While Grotto Smeraldo was a short walk, traffic was harrowing along the road. In very hot evenings, some of the smaller rooms lacked air circulation; only one of three units had air conditioning. When showers splashed water, the tile floors were hazardous--mats would help.

Great location on the house, easy to get to the beach or other towns like Amalfi or Positano. Pool and a great view make this a wonderful house.

very easy to explore amalfi coast from the villa, very nice view from the villa and you can park the car in the garage.
we came with a baby and the host was very helpful and reactive with all requirements for such a young baby ! thanks again !

the apartment was very limited with very basic furniture and kitchen equipment

The location and views are amazing. We had breakfast every day and dinner most evenings on the terrace admiring the view. There is a bus stop a 3 minute walk away which easily takes you up and down the coast, or ample off street parking at the property which we didn't personally use.
Serafina, the host, was brilliant, so lovely and ful of useful information and tips which made our trip easier. There was a small problem with the bathroom and she arranged for a plumber to come and fix it really quickly.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook daily.
Small thing, but the security deposit was required in cash. For us (from the UK so do not spend Euros at home) it would have been better for this to be electronic becasue we ended up with 100 euros in cash and only hours left of the holiday so now need to try to exchange them back to sterling which never works out economically.

this villa is absolutely gorgeous, waking up to the view of the sea and surrounding mountains was breathtaking. in the mornings you are able to pick oranges and lemons and enjoy the warm sun. it is within walking distance to grotto smeraldo, a beautiful sea filled grotto with a emerald tone, it is an inexpensive tour and well worth it. there is also a cafe and souvenir/ceramics shop at the grotto, in the summer there are restaurants as well.
the room we stayed in and a small kitchenette witch allowed us to have breakfast at the villa.
getting a taxi to the surrounding towns (Amalfi, Ravello, etc.) was easy and fast.
we had our car parked in the garage which was secure and spacious.
I would be eager to stay here again, it was absolutely amazing.

The apartment in in a stunning location midway between the towns of Amalfi and Positano. The apartment had everything that one requires on holiday. The contact lady was named Serafina. She telephoned prior to departure to assure all was in order and made plans to meet at our apartment. She was waiting when we arrived and gave lots of information to help make the holiday special. Her English was flawless and her information was invaluable . We would definately stay at this apartment again.

Everything was very good. We enjoyed staying at Villa Carmela. It actually fully suited our needs (including washing machine, small kitchen with the coffee machine) etc.
And the host (Serafima) was very helpful and welcoming. She explained everything and was available for any questions and recommendations. Thanks a lot to her!!!
the only minor drawback is the bath, in particular - the water pressure. Which sometimes was quite poor. Bet there is not much the owner can do. One might wish that the bath and shower facilities could be modernised and repaired. Yet, given the all other advantages, this is minor and not to be worried much. Good value for the price indeed (the view and the terrace in particular!!!)

Beautiful location, walking distance to restaurants and little beach. 4 Kim from Amalfi and 20 min to Positano makes it an ideal getaway. Highly recommended
If I had to choose something it would be the shower. It was small and hard to get good water flow, but overall an amazing place to stay.

Stunning views and centrally located to explore the Amalfi Coast
