Neem Tree House used to be a corporate chalet, with multiple bedrooms, a living room, dining room, a kitchen and of course, a pool, so it's huge. When you stay here, you get the whole run of the place, which was great. We stayed in Kirinda to visit Yala, and the safari trip was very easy to arrange. We loved the meticulously-prepared and packed breakfast ;). The property is right on the fringe of the national park, so it's as close to the wild as you can get without actually being in the wild. Regular visitors during our stay included peacocks, monitor lizards (out in the yard) and of course, many beautiful birds. We even got to see passing herds of wild cattle just across the property fence too. The service was exceptional. The manager was very obliging, and we even had the now-retired former manager visit us a couple of times to make sure everything was ok (he shared some really great stories about the place too - ask about the visiting crocodile). It's clear that they take great pride in their work. The meals were great - prepared on site just for us, fresh and delicious, and the portions were huge.

Just the mosquitoes, but that's to be expected from being in the midst of nature. Otherwise, nothing to complain about. :)

Very beautiful villa in the middle of the nature. Ranjith was an outstanding host, welcoming us with warmth, accompanying us to a lake stroll and preparing a delicious dinner for kings together with his wife. The pool area is super relaxing. Accommodation was offered to our driver too.

We would have liked some extra privacy in the common spaces - the intention of being always there to support is highly appreciated though.

This was one of the best places we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka. we felt very welcomed by the staff who were always available for us and super flexible. we had amazing homemade meals. Our stay felt like a home. we will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Yala.

Infrastructure itself was very good subject to one issue (a damaged downpipe above first room resulted in problems during rain specially at night: the sound of rain water free falling from a gutter above makes a big noise at night n awakens you! This is easily fixable n apparently caused by over zealous monkeys prowling on roof!).

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Neem Tree. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The host and his staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. He organised a jeep safari for us and onward travel to our next destination. He escorted us on a walk around the lake and pointed out things of interest. Delicious and plentiful breakfast! The evening meal was absolutely delicious and well worth the money. It is clear that the host takes immense pride in his villa and the service provided to guests. It was an absolute joy to stay here. The garden is so relaxing and quiet - we had the villa to ourselves and enjoyed leisurely swims in the pool. There is nothing I can fault about this villa and would highly recommend it to any traveller!

During our trip in Sri Lanka we stayed all in all in 8 really good 4/5 star hotels but Neem Tree House was absolutely the very best. The room was top, pool excellent, food more than tasteful but what really made our stay amazing was Ranjith and his staff. We felt so welcomed and at home. His wife cooked for us a delicious meal and Ranjith himself is such a kind, warm and pleasant person to speak with. We would definitely stay here again!!
