The house was devine. It was old. It had character. Gardens were lovely. So much potential but...

We were very disappointed we had no satellite TV (as described), but it's no surprise as there no satellite dish. The Freebox TV unit did not work nor the DVD player. We highlighted this problem to the caretaker. He provided a replacement DVD unit but was unable to fix the cable system. We were left watching DVD's (very limited selection) for the duration of stay. This really ruined the holiday. The caretaker (Matthew) did mention this WAS a reported problem before. Why was this not fixed then? As for catering facilities: I can only describe them as dreadful and uncomfortable to use. The kitchen was equipped with old tools and cookware. It's like everything was purchased at a carboot or junk shop or auction following a house clearout of some poor old person following their death. Finding a bottle opener was a struggle but found an old €1 can opener. It did the job. The dishwasher was a joke. No cutlery basket. No dish drainer. Really poorly equipped. Glassware was lacking. Small 150ml glassed or champagne flutes. No large tumblers or decent sized wine glasses. It was a caterer's nightmare. I am the cook. I hated the whole experience. The whole lot needs chucking out and a trip to IKEA is needed and a bit of money spent on these basics. The whole kitchen thing needs sorting out (and dishwasher). A lot of stuff needed replacing as too old or unusable. Provisions were rubbish. No black sacks for rubbish. I know this is self catering but are we expected to bring ALL our own stuff? Might as well be camping. It's clear the place has potential. It just needs some money spent to getting it up to date. You (the owner) gets enough from rental surely? Spend some on the improvements. It's forgivable that the place is old but no excuse on the rest. It's poorly managed and maintained. Two plants in there are as good as dead. Who waters them? The yucca and Swiss cheese plant?

The host was always easy to reach via messages to get any help. We got a nice rest with the garden, the fireplace and all the fully equipped house. Thank you for this !

Was not expecting trains to pass really near. Yet the noise was not that bad.
