Lovely room and lovely breakfast
5.0
An excellent location for visiting the Cotswolds. We stayed in the Art Deco room and it was really spacious but also cosy. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was incredible. We really enjoyed the breakfast and ended up taking two take our boxes with us.
4.5
Communication was excellent, and checking in arrangements were good. Our room was beautifully presented, comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was very nice, both the food and the service. The location was super.
Nothing to report here 😃

Absolutely everything, attention to detail and the uniqueness of the rooms were fabulous.
Nothing not to like

Easy self check in process, we stopped in the Indian room which was beautifully decorated with a fabulous bathroom.
Everything was clean and self explanatory.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent, unobtrusive, loved the relaxed approach, tasty produce and a thoughtful way to take away with you any leftovers for lunch. Will definitely return
Nothing, the bistro was closed but that was because the owners were on a long deserved holiday! Will just have to come back to try the food!
4.0
Only a small room, but very cosy and comfortable.
Staff - just lovely.
Location - perfect.
Breakfast - a real treat.
No code to gain access upon arrival - this was however rectified with a couple of phone calls.
4.5
Great breakfast and a lovely room. A very nice and quiet location
Disappointed that we weren't told about the Bistro being closed until after we had committed ourselves.

A little hard to see the key system in the dark without a torch ! Everything else was great!

Exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Church bells ringing every 15 minutes!
3.5
Well located
No interaction with proprietors so felt like an Airbnb, even though it was attached to the restaurant below.
Dirty towel left hanging in our room.
Pillows were super flat and not particularly comfortable

Not really. it was all just what we needed for a single night stopover

Nothing.

we stayed in the Art Deco room, which was lovely. One of the two best cold breakfasts I have had anywhere and the staff were super helpful. On site restaurant was great and a couple of pubs less than 5 min walk away. The view of the church and grounds is wonderful.
Finding the entrance took me a couple of mins

Lovely room - every comfort thought of and nice surprise bar of chocolate 😍 Loved the fridge on the landing with fresh milk, fruit, etc. Very quiet. The breakfast was the best breakfast I have had in the UK. Very generous superb quality. Had delicious evening meal in the bistro. Evening and breakfast team were friendly and helpful.
I arrived in the dark so it was a bit tricky finding my way around the back but this would be no problem in the daytime.

Exceptionally excellent location, cleanliness, staff friendly, room spotless.
absolutely nothing could have been better

The room was cosy and the breakfast was amazing. The village parking at the end of the road was ideal and the location of the property was great for us and allowed us to explore surrounding areas.

Attention to detail was outstanding in every way. The Boho room was spotlessly clean, wonderfully decorated in vibrant colours and everything we needed was in it (except maybe a teapot) There is access to a fridge on the landing with glass bottled water and fresh milk - and a ‘help yourself’ loaded fruit bowl. Main bed really comfortable for my sister - whose 70th birthday it was - and my sofa bed wasn’t bad at the other end of the room. Lots of pillows! We both loved the bathroom with its roll top bath and separate shower. We had dinner in the bistro and although there was mostly meat and fish on offer we did have enough vegetarian choice and the staff were lovely. We had read about the amazing breakfast and it did not disappoint. The takeaway box was so appreciated and kept us going when my car broke down on the M5 going home and the RAC left us stranded for over 8 hours! We would love to return some day and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Specific instructions are sent so you know exactly how to access the property via a key safe after going round the back lane, but somehow we still got a bit confused. We would have loved to meet the owners but it was not to be. Everyone we did meet was very friendly.

Painswick proved to be an inspired choice for the night. It appeared much less touristy than other Cotswold towns we visited. Our Art Deco themed room was very comfortable and overlooked the pretty Churchyard with its church and historic yew trees. It was quiet to sleep at night. We often don't eat breakfast where we stay but St Michael's is well worth making an exception. It was probably the best breakfast I have eaten on our entire trip. It was not the usual full English, but home made granola, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and a cold cuts platter all beautifully presented. The takeaway container provided for the left overs was a nice touch. I would highly recommend staying here.
It was all we could want.

Location was ideal; scored high on the quirkiness scale; owners were helpful when we sent our luggage ahead of our arrival; breakfast was local and superb. Staff friendly and flexible.

The stuff is wonderfully friendly, the place is clean and so welcoming and the decor is magical
3.5
The awful people that own the bistro downstairs, rude and aggressive, whining about me parking in a legitimate parking space outside the property, where a traffic warden said I could park !!! Awful man and very, very rude lady.

Great village these special houses

The property was quaint and charming. The room was very comfortable if a little cramped. We ate in the bistro one evening and had a gorgeous meal.
We found the lack of internet connection frustrating especially when the property had sent the check in details by email and there was nobody available to help us.

Breakfast wasn't included. Great shower. Very clean and comfortable.
Hard to navigate getting into building and finding room. No one to greet or show us. Small room nowhere to sit.
4.0
Lovely room and view and delicious breakfast ,but it overlooked the churchyard and there was a chiming church clock which rang every quarter of the hour all night. If you are a light sleeper you might need ear plugs!

Located above a bistro in the centre of Painswick. Parking fairly easy. Painswick is an attractive village but probably good for walkers.
Breakfast was good ( continental) and bistro food good.
Nothing to dislike.

An overall excellent stay and would highly recommend 😀
