Good location away from the hustle of the city but only a short walk to the touristy parts. A lovely apartment, air conditioning is a big bonus. Staff were very helpful and great recommendations for food. Previous reviews state you can hear people walking on apartment above, which you can however it is a very old building with a rustic charm so to me was no problem and is to be expected in such old buildings. I would definitely stay again and will be recommending to friends.

Key collection was from the office as we arrived very early at about 10.30am. The staff were very helpful and gave us a very good brief of this historical city. They also phoned us early to inform us that the apartment was ready. The apartment is very well located, about 4 mins walk downhill to waterfront and bus stages/tram there. Bathroom especially shower is very good. Bedroom spacious. Kitchen is ok.

Kitchen needs a bit more tools such as a larger oven dish and pan to cook pizza. A lid for the pan is missing. Can have added shelving. The hill at San Joao Novo street is very steep but short to the apartment. Grocery stores are not close. So make sure you do the buying before continuing going down to the apartment from RVA office (RVA office will direct you)

The apartment was beautiful, lovely stone walls and beams, with a lovely courtyard that would be fantastic when the sun is shining, the waterfall shower is brilliant and bed was really comfortable. Communication with the host was fantastic, they were really friendly and actioned requests months in advance.

We chose the ground floor as we have a toddler and we didn’t want to carry a pushchair up flights of stairs. However these is a loft at this properly and the ground floor apartment has a step down onto it a step up to the courtyard and 3 steps down onto the kitchen. Which was a little testing with a toddler. Howe refer this is probably my own fault for not reading the description clearly rather than the hosts.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and a lovely charming character. The staff were very helpful and responsive.

It would have been nice to have had tea and coffee satchets but that is only a minor thing.

Little hilly with cobbled streets to get to it. We were fine as weather dry but would have to be careful of streets when rains .
