The hosts were extremely hospitable, the place is beautiful and it’s off the beaten path from the touristy areas.

There were a lot of mosquitos in our room.

Rosanna and Renato were so welcoming during our stay. We received a lot of information on how the B&B is working, what to do in the area etc. Each morning they cook a freshly made Italian inspired breakfast for you. To be completely honest, I prefer a more continental breakfast from time to time but when I asked for something additional, Renato was very helpful and made sure each morning I had my bread, cheese and marmelade! The rooms are very neat and clean! We had a lovely stay!

Co-owner Renato added a personal touch to breakfast. It’s as if one were at home, with a chef who’s a member of the family. The fruits and vegetables were fresh, and Renato prepared everything with such palpable delight. He and his wife/co-owner, Rosanna, are quite warm. They went out of their way to help us plan tours. They also love to know each guest. Excellent experience!

Renato and Rosanna created such a happy place on the sun hill! It was the best B&B we‘ve experienced so fare. The breakfast was delicious and Renato served a variety of homemade cakes and bread every morning. The room and the bathroom were super clean and spacious. We had such a lovely time and would definitely recommend it! We‘re looking forward to another stay at the happy place the sun hill!

The Sun Hill is a beautiful place perfect for a relaxing holiday. It is located just outside of the city Center, avoiding the main bustle. Safe and friendly, providing stunning sunsets every night. I received personal greetings and tips on how to spend my time while visiting Lagos and surroundings areas. Room are clean, beds comfortable. Grounds well manicured, beautiful garden added to the tranquility of the place. Pool is heated and a good size, with ample lounging room. Even has a yoga area. He is flexible on check in or check out, as long as he could accommodate. Breakfast was presented every morning with a new item on the menu, which Rennato would create himself each morning. His passion for cooking. From fresh baked focaccia, to fresh baked bread. Entire breakfast all fresh and delicious. Rennato and Rosanna are great hosts, they made me feel like I was part of their family. Any request was meet with enthusiasm. Very helpful since the beginning. You can feel the joy they have when they can added something to your stay. Real valve for your money, a Gem. I will definitely return. Thanks again Rennato and Rosanna for a memorable stay.

I loved my stay at The Sun Hill. Renato and Rosanna made me feel that I was part of their family, welcoming me into their home. I had a spectacular room, beautifully decorated and very clean. The view was lovely, from my balcony. Breakfast was served by Renato who clearly has a passion for food. Every morning I was amazed by a variety of fruits, cooked dishes, cake and homemade jams. I don't want to give too much away, the food was delicious. The villa has a lovely pool and surrounding gardens. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Literally the best place I have EVER stayed at, and I've travelled a lot. I travelled alone as a young woman and Ronaldo and Rossana treated me like family. I got lost one night while coming home from the beach and didn't make it back till 10 pm. When they found out I didn't get to have dinner, they made me ravioli and sat with me as I had dinner. On my last day, I had to leave at 5 am to catch a flight and they got up before 5 to make me breakfast (cake, coffee, toast) and packed me lunch to go... I don't think my own parents could have treated me better hahaha. The place itself is beautiful too. Their house is located on a hill surrounded by lots of nature. The dining room is like a little glass house. Every person/group gets a table and Ronaldo puts your name on it. Every morning he sets up breakfasts on each tables and it's always 4+ things, delicious and well-plated. They bake their own bread and uses herbs from their own garden. It's the little things. Ronaldo puts two big travel tumblers in the fridge for each person and always keep them filled up with mineral water so you can take them with you to the beach/hikes/... The rooms have everything you need. Good wifi. Air conditioning. The outdoor pool is heated, although I didnt use it because it was really windy my entire trip there. I also only found out on my last day that they have a big wooden outdoor platform in the back too and yoga mats so you can do yoga overlooking lots of nature.

The breakfast was super with lashing of coffee for us coffee lovers. Fresh fruit and lots of extras

The bathroom drains were a bit smelly at times.

Renato & Rosanna are wonderful hosts, they really care about your comfort & look after you as if your family. Breakfast was amazing, so much variety and so well prepared by Renato. The property is in a perfect location, a quiet spot set in beautiful surroundings but not too far from anything, you will definitely be able to relax.

We enjoyed our stay at Renato and Rosanna's place a lot. The level of hospitality and love for detail as well as the way they are treating you as a guest is hard to match. Best freshly-made breakfast in a long time and just the vibe and atmosphere around the house was really, really nice. And a big plus for vegetarians: Renato makes sure that your breakfast remains full of nice things to eat, even if you don't eat meat.

Everything!! The peace and quite. The surroundings. The rooms. The pool area. And most importantly Renato and Rosana - the absolute best hosts. They always make sure their guests has the best experience. Also Renato’s breakfast is to die for! We will definitely come back! Thank You for having us, and for being the perfect place to end out trip.

Our stay with Renato and Rosanna was amazing! They were so kind and made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect holiday. Renato cooks a really nice breakfast every morning. The view from the hill makes for some beautiful sunsets! Would definitely recommend this B&B, you won't regret it!

The Sun Hill hotel is on the top of a small hill which guarantees you literally with a lot of sun and a splendid view over the land. The house in general and the room especially were tip top, very spacious, very good furniture and facilities. The hosts are wonderful and truly welcoming. Every morning, you get a freshly prepared breakfast with ingredients from the farmers market or grown in their garden. Parking is provided on the property and free WiFi is provided.

What we didn't spot when booking the place was that it is a good stretch away from Lagos and you need a car to get to any cafe, restaurant or supermarket. There are no real footpaths, so even if you are a keen walker, it is difficult to get around by foot. You have to be at breakfast between 8 and 9 am, so it is not really for people who want to start the day a bit easy going (however, the breakfast is really worth getting up and ready in time!).

Sun Hill is the perfect place to stay in the Algarve. The house has been recently renovated, my room had also a lovely balcony. The breakfast is really nice, with all genuine products and fresh dishes cooked by Renato and Rosanna, who have been amazing hosts throughout our stay. Guests can also enjoy a swimming pool to relax, swim and tan. Very close to Lagos and other key landmarks in the Algarve. We stayed there as part of our honeymoon and Renato and Rosanna also organised a special aperitif with oysters and spritz to celebrate with us...we felt like staying at home :) Highly recommended!!

Everything! From the welcome until the goodbye everything was outstanding! Rosanna and Renato try very hard to do every little detail with perfection, and they did. The room and the bathroom was very clean. Although it is their home, you still got your privacy. The air conditioner worked perfect and even the ventilator was useful. Breakfast was amazing, Renato and Rosanna do everything themselves with fresh ingredients. The pool was also amazing and very clean. The location is very beautiful and quiet. We loved our stay at The Sun Hill and would definitely come back! PS: Neli was very sweet!

Amazing breakfast, not a buffet but something different everyday in brunch style served at the table. All home made things. Renato & Rosanna are amazing hosts that will really go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. The location is quiet and peaceful with a nice room and heated swimming pool. By car not far from the city center. If you're looking for a small B&B with a nice pool to relax, away from the touristy crowds with warm hosts this is the place to go!

Rosanna and Renato our the most warming and caring hosts we have ever met. They make you feel at home and they're so kind and helpful. The breakfast is amazing. The cooking skills from Renato and the freshly baked cake from Rosanna truely make your day. The accomodation is charming, hygienic and very well located to explore the West and even the South coast of Portugal, Algarve/Alentejo. The pool is very nice and if you're lucky, Renato brings you a refreshing home made ice cream, while you're laying in the sun next to the pool! If we go back to Portugal, we will be definitely stay here again! Thanks a lot for the great stay!
