Gades Suite is a very centrally located comfortable apartment in Cadiz. It has a very convenient locking system which you operate with an app on your smartphone. Once you get the app working, you do not need other keys at all. The apartment has two bedrooms of a decent size and a combined space as living room, dining room and the kitchen. The owner seemed like a very helpful person and came to the apartment when we experienced some difficulties checking in with the app. Good value for money.

The owner does not speak a word of English. Instructions for check-in were done entirely by Google Translator and as a result they were quite difficult to follow. If you stay here: first download the app by clicking the link you receive, but do not try to enter any codes into the app directly. Instead click on the link they sent you once more and then the app should work properly. The beds were a bit squeaky and not the most comfortable ones either.

Old and not so clean, not very cozy

The bad smell when entering through the entrance door to the apartment block. There is an extractor fan in the stairwell which is noisy particularly at night. There is also a mobility scooter and a large smelly bin waiting for you when you step into the apartment hallway, which also makes movmemt difficult when you have luggage. The owner needs to buy new pillows as they are thin and uncomfortable. There is also loose floor tiles that need securing. The sofa needs to be replaced as uncomfortable to sit on.

When we collected the key, the lady confirmed she was having problem with the key. It was an electric lock, controlled by an app on her mobile. Next day we left the apartment for a few hours only to come and have lunch at the apartment. The key did not function and we could not get into the apartment. It was horrible. Image no money, car keys, medication. Everything was inside except our mobiles. We had to ask and make alternative arranges to have lunch with a three year old, go to chemist etc. The apartment was not clean. Very disappointed.

Location was fantastic. A lovely place to stay.

The shower was difficult to get the water to stay at one temperature. I think the boiler needed attention.
