We had a really relaxing and comfortable stay here, we booked to stay one more night 😊 we felt so at home, the staff are so friendly and helpful. It was very clean, the rooms are cleaned every day. There is a great restaurant on site with a nice view over the river to the beach. The beach is one minute walk away and they pick you up from the boat if you arrive from Sierpe. We really loved it here and didn’t want to leave! Thank you to the staff of Casa El Tortugo 🥰

My wife and I had an incredible time at Casa el Tortugo! The staff are incredibly friendly, the restaurant is fabulous, and the beach is very close nearby! In addition, the pick-up area for many of the tours is at the beach, which is just a few minutes away by foot. We couldn't recommend this location enough!

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The location was great, close to the beach. We were able to book all our excursions through them which was very convenient Kent. The restaurant on site was really great.

Amazing location. There was a river right next to our room which you can follow to the beach. During the night it was quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and had good prices. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was working fine. They accepted credit card payment which was convenient.

One of the best places we stayed at during our Costa Rica trip! The staff is super friendly and helps you with everything. They even have a room diffuser which was lovely!

Très joli hôtel au cœur de Bahia Drake près de la Plage. Accueil très sympathique de la part de la propriétaire et de ses employés qui n’ont pas hésité à nous aider pour les Tours et à même faire des changements de dernière minute. Elles sont très arrangeantes et à l’écoute. Le restaurant est également excellent, le cuisinier fait des plats délicieux et a très bon prix. Le ménage est irréprochable et la salle de bain est agréable. Service de taxi inclus pour ceux qui viennent en bateau depuis Sierpe. Prêt de serviettes de plage si besoin. Un de nos meilleurs hôtels au Costa Rica, allez y les yeux fermés.

This place is absolutely great! I decided to stay for a week, since the location is wonderful. It's very close to the beach and next to a small river. Me, as a biologist, really loved the wildlife there. Jesus Christ lizards are running on the water in your backyard, tiger herons enjoy the sun and several king fishers fly around! Also it's very easy to take a boat from here and go into the national park. The Drake trail is nearby and that's a beautiful walking path that brings you to remote beaches. But also very important: the hosts are wonderful! I felt really safe there as a woman travelling alone. They are all very welcoming. I must admit I cried a little when I had to go. It was such a great experience. And the food is great too. Would highly recommend going there!

The host is super lovely and such a nice person with a huge amount of recommendations the eyes for details (like beautiful flowers).The location is perfect with direct River access which flows into the ocean (or you walk around 2 minutes to the beach stairs). The apartment is super clean, comfy bed, mosquito protection, AC and a balcony/terrace. Truly a recommendation! If a little kitchen would be available we would extend our stay to a much longer period.

The room was very clean and fly nets stopped any insects. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The on site restaurant had the best flavoured beans and rice that we tried in Drake Bay.

The fridge made a lot of noise so we turned it off completely when sleeping.

The location is very quiet, and very close to the beach. The food at the restaurant is very good. The staff is very firendly and the room is the best, very clean, very confortable.

Although the price is a bit high, it is worthy.

this property is clean and comfortable. the staff is available and very responsive. the property is located on a river that enters Drake Bay within 100 meters or less and the walkway to the beach includes concrete steps. plenty of shaded area as well as open undisturbed beach to enjoy. The rooms have AC, and a small refrigerator that helps to keep water, drinks or leftovers cool. the walk into town is hilly but takes less than ten minutes. multiple stores are within this same walk with one being 100 meters away. the restaurant is good with a variety of options. breakfast starts at 5 and requires reservations. this helps with early morning trips to snorkel, dive or visit Corcovado National Park. over all a top choice for me and my family. payment in cash will get you a small discount.

No or limited ocean view

A low-key hotel, with simple but perfectly adequate facilities. Friendly staff. Good value for money and a good location, just minutes from the beach. Good restaurant on site, which served breakfast from 5am (helpful for many of the tours you can do in the area, which often have early starts).

The position close to the beach andi mini Market, the nice restaurant, the cosy and crean room from where we could see plenty of birds, iguanas and crabs. NIce to have a kettle and air conditioning. You can book tours directly with them.

The property is in a GREAT location: next to the mouth of a river, (you will hear toads singing at night!) and also right by the beach, which also serves as a shortcut to get to the spot where boats land from Sierpe.

I wish there had been coffee in the unit.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable and the AC was great after lots of adventures around the area. Beds were super comfortable and the room was spacious, including the bathroom. The manager, Teresa, was so fantastic. We also loved the attached restaurant!

Everything exceeded our expectations for our stay but recommend you pack extra bug repellant for Drake Bay in general!

It is so beautiful at Casa Tortugo. Lovely wooden spacious rooms. You can see they make a great effort with natural shells and leaves around the room. Our room looked out onto a forested area and a stream flowing to the beach. We saw so many birds, iguanas, even a young croc (not dangerous) from our porch! The staff are so sweet. The restaurant has the best food in town. Drake Bay is an amazing experience and Casa Tortugo made it even more so!

The communication before we arrived could be improved - maybe easier by WhatsApp and not the Booking app? But choose Casa Tortugo, such a lovely place!

Helpfull staff, and nice room. With great bathroom, good beds and airconditioning (very nice at Osa Peninsula). Hotel is located just outside the "village" of Drake Bay, but has supermarket just down the street. The hotel is located next to a (muddy) creek flowing towards the ocean. Spotted a jesus-christ-lizzard running across the surface. At night there was a huge concert of nocturnal animals, especially frogs.

Not a negative thing, but I totally misjudged Drake Bay, thought it would be some laid-back beach-village, but it is very hilly and has quiet steep roads. Few stores but it is literally a "in the middle of nowhere town". You definately need a 4x4 to reach it, in rainy season I cannot imagine getting there by land unless you have a designated offroad vehicle equipped with a snorkle.
