kitchen could be equipped with better utensils, terrible WiFi

This place is all about the view. Absolutely phenomenal. Doesn't get better. Incredible sunsets. Location, location, location. If you've got kids, the pool is also a big plus. Very comfy pillows. Our host, May, was superb. Knowing that our flight arrived in the evening and that we'd reach the apartment late, she arranged to have roasted chicken and fries waiting for us for a quick dinner. Very much appreciated. Check in was a breeze (it helped to be able to text her through WhatsApp when we hit the road from the airport). She was always available and responded immediately to any questions. She also had fantastic recommendations. This was our third time to Guadeloupe, but she still gave us new tips that added great value to our vacation. Be sure to ask her for the contact information for Manotte, a lovely lady in town who will prepare meals for you that you just have to pick up at her home (which is lovely!) The food was absolutely delicious, huge portions at a very fair price, and it was a nice chance to visit a local's home, even briefly just to pick up the food. Her "accras" (fish fritters), poulet colombo (curried chicken), and green papaya puree (which tasted like a delicious mashed potato with leeks and bacon with a cheese crust) were all delicious! May also recommended a fantastic dive company a bit off the beaten path, just south of Bouillante, called La Rand'eau. Great place. Fantastic dive/snorkeling. The air conditioning in the apartment worked like a charm. Brand new units. The washing machine was another big plus. So close to great grocery store and bakery at the bottom of the hill (short drive).

The bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedroom are on the second floor. That was a bit of an inconvenience, but not a deal breaker. If you plan to really use the kitchen to cook, as we did, know that there is absolutely nothing there in terms of staples. No salt, pepper, oil, spices, etc... You need to purchase it all. Places we had previously stayed had some basics, which were really appreciated. You even need to buy your own toilet paper and garbage bags! (though when we asked, May left us another garbage bag). On the third day of our stay we finally went to use the microwave and found a jar of jam and bread that we assume had been left for us for our first breakfast. Had we known it was there, it would have been greatly appreciated on that first morning.

The view from the balconies was breathtaking. May, the host, spoke excellent English and, of course, her French was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.

Walls were rather thin, so you could easily hear the neighbors.
