Very clean and spacious! Pool was great after a day in the sun. Great location and very responsive owners and home caretaker (Cleo). Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at One Tar Bay. Mary and Cleo were wonderful hosts. We arrived early and were able to arrange a drop off of our luggage before the scheduled check in. Everything was set up as requested and Mary was very transparent that the internet was out due to a down pole the night prior and that they were fixing it (it came back on a few days later in spite of the weekend). Plenty of space, all the utensils and kitchen items. Pool toys and beach towels. Lots of great books and games (we gifted our puzzle that we brought along). We look forward to coming back in the future! Thank you for a fabulous escape in the Exumas!

Accommodating hosts that sent great recommendations before our trip, grocery shopped before we arrived, and were flexible with our dates and check-out time. We loved all that the house had to offer- beach chairs, coolers, snorkeling gear, etc. The pool and deck layout can’t be beat. We explored the whole island and loved being centrally located- don’t miss Shoreline, Hooper’s Beach, Cocoplum beach and bistro, pig/iguana tour, Tropics of Cancer beach and Santanas. Gotta recommend Shirley’s and karoake on Friday night at Mark’s. Our boat rental fell through and Graeme helped us easily secure an amazing boat for our group of 10. We loved the separate bedrooms and bathrooms and many outdoor spaces to enjoy the sun and stars for our group of 3 families.

Absolutely magical. The house is perfect for families & friends. Mary is an amazing host with a wealth of info about the house and island. Could not have been better!

Stunning property in a fabulous location on an absolutely incredible island!

One Tar Bay was a fantastic choice for our week in Exuma with friends. The house and pool are extremely private and beautiful. You can walk to exhaustion on the beach and likely not encounter another person. The hosts Mark and Mary are wonderful people and were there for our every need. Highly recommend!

We could not have been happier with this property. The home is beautiful and extremely well-equipped. It was very accommodating to our entire family of eight. The pool, porches, and deck were simply amazing. And, the location of the home and its view are just unbeatable. Not only that, but also our hosts Mary and Mark were very helpful both before and during our stay. Their property manager, Cleo, was also extremely helpful. Just as an example, she had gone to the grocery store for us and picked up requested items, so they were waiting on us when we got there. Overall, we highly recommend One Tar Bay and we look very forward to returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at One Tar Bay!! There was enough room for all of us (adults/grandkids) without being on top of each other. The infinity pool was awesome, just looking out to the beautiful color of the water. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could want or need!! The beds were comfortable. This house is convenient to the airport and grocery stories! We would definitely go back to One Tar Bay!!! Marian

We had a wonderful stay at One Tar Bay! The weather was not ideal for boating like we had planned to do everyday, so we were thankful that the house was spacious and had everything we needed. The kids played board games and enjoyed the toys our host provided when it was raining. The adults were happy we had everything we needed to make meals and morning cappuccinos. We found the house to be just as described, everything was in working order and we would definitely recommend staying here.

Our family of 8 had high expectations of One Tar Bay and Exuma, and to our surprise, those expectations were exceeded! The home is absolutely perfect for a larger group. We had plenty of space, the kitchen is well-equipped and wow, what can I say about the views. We spent hours and hours around the gorgeous pool area, cooked on the gas grill (sadly didn't use the BBQ pit because I was nervous of the wind causing a fire) and took walks on what is essentially a private beach. We never saw another soul the whole week. Our favorite day trips were renting the boat for two days to explore the harbor, notably Stocking Island (Starfish Beach was our fav!) and a short drive to Hoopers Bay to swim with the turtles. Thanks to Mary and Mark for their great hospitality!

First off, I would like to say thank you so much to Mark and Mary for allowing our group to reserve One Tar Bay! My husband and I are relatively well-travelled in the Caribbean and our stay at One Tar Bay was simply fantastic. I would also like to point out that if anything was broken or didn’t work properly, the issue was addressed immediately. We were unable to log onto the internet the first day and Mark was at the house within an hour to fix it. We had a group of 10 (including 6 kids ages from 5 to 15) and there was literally no complaint from anyone- which is amazing considering the number of people. OTB is in a great location. We were first time visitors to Exuma and did not really know what to expect. OTB is a short drive from the airport, and in a good, central location to get to various parts of the island. You can get to Coco Plum Beach within 40 minutes or the opposite end at Tropic of Cancer Beach within 40 minutes from OTB. The house is exactly as described and so much more, honestly. The views out of the living room windows are second to none. The bedrooms and possible configurations are flexible and really worked well for our group. The pool was stunning and the walk to the beach was relatively easy. Mary and Mark even have a bin full of children’s toys and books about the Bahamas you can enjoy. OTB provides shampoo, laundry detergent and other items needed until you can get to a grocery store to refill. They even have beach towels you can use while you are on their property. We brought extra from home for use off property. Further, OTB’s kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen I have ever stayed in. There is literally everything you could need from blenders to crockpots and everything in between. Mary and Mark do such a wonderful job of making sure the house has everything one needs while staying in Exuma and that started with the guide that she sent out days before arrival giving you a run down of things to expect, places to dine, grocery store locations and prices and even a sample of daily things to do so you can hit up all of the highlights on Exuma. In short, OTB is an amazing place with wonderful hosts in a fantastic location and setting. I would not hesitate to book again and hope too again very soon. We fell in love with Exuma. House is in a great location, being close to the airport and center of the island. Beautiful views and nice outdoor area. It was super windy for some of the time we stayed there, so using the beach or anything outdoors was VERY limited in this location on high wind days. There was also construction on the house right next door, which made sitting outside less than relaxing. The house is very spacious and a nice kitchen area. We did have issues with wifi all week. It never worked after day two. . This is tough with children, who expect wifi use every day! The house was not super clean on our arrival, but I know this is the Bahamas and getting it very clean is a challenge. The dryer took at least three cycles to dry clothes as well. Overall the location is very good and the house is nice, but I do wish they would fix the dryer, wifi and clean it a bit better!

Our family enjoyed a relaxing, laughter filled holiday together at One Tar Bay. No one wanted to leave! The owners are kind and quick to address issues that came up. The house is well equipped for cooking and spacious. We had many adventures planned for our time there but all agreed we could have just stayed at One Tar Bay all day and been very happy!

We had a great time at 1 Tar Bay. The house is beautiful and spacious. Probably the only downside was the wind and rough water which was up to mother nature, not you Mary! Thanks for a great introduction to Exuma.

Four Bedroom home with two up and two down on main level. The owners, Mark and Mary, own the home next door as well and were there at the time. Very nice people who were very accomodating. Anything we asked about they were all over it. Mary even brought us over a Banana Zucchini bread which was quite good. Because we were arriving on a Sunday when the markets were closed, Monica, the property mgr/host offered to buy groceries for us ahead of time. Turned out to be very helpful since the markets were closed on Sunday, Tuesday(Christmas) and Wednesday (Boxing Day). This is an island with a very small population and consequently, very few services. If you are looking for a relaxing location this will work nicely. The people were all friendly. We managed to play a couple of rounds of golf at the Sandals resort. Nice golf course with some beautiful holes along the ocean. The owners of the house had five sets of golf clubs they said we could use so that saved us some money renting clubs. Can’t offer an opinion on the beach by the house because when we were there it was windy and the water was rough. However, the waves splashing up against the shore were beautiful. The owners had just completed a pool and deck just before we arrived. They had an outside grill which we used to grill steaks on one night and hamburgers another night. You will need a rental car to get to any place on the island. This is a drive on the left side island and you should check with your insurance company because your US insurance probably doesn’t cover you in the Bahamas. I have stayed at One Tar Bay every year for the past four years. The location is quiet and private and the layout is spacious and set up for groups. The great room overlooks the ocean and the sun deck. The property is professionally maintained. The owner is approachable, amicable and has arranged transport, golf (even lent his clubs - Thanks!), dining, fishing and boating excursions. Georgetown is a short drive away and has all amenities. Easily recommended to families and groups. No question - we will return to this spot.

Beautiful home in a magical setting, could not have asked for a better vacation. There are no words to describe the VIEW that one is blessed with while staying here. The house itself was beautiful, we lacked absolutely nothing, super well equipped with everything you need. I loved the kitchen and the views while preparing meals, open concept, lots of windows so you never miss out on the views and colours of the water. The bedrooms were very comfortable and lots of room and each with own bathroom. Fav spot to hang out was that beautiful deck overlooking the most beautiful waters I have ever seen, my eyes were in heaven with the vivid colours. Also loved the hammock to relax in and read. It is so quiet and peaceful, full and easy access to a beach with no one around, it's pretty much your own little paradise with the clearest water. Waking up and going for a swim right first thing in the morning just steps from the house was a daily highlight for me. Can not ask for better. Location is wonderful as it is very close to the airport and also a short drive to shops, restaurants and entertainment if you actually ever want to leave this beautiful oasis that is :)..... If and when you do want to venture off the island has so many beautiful spots and beaches to discover. Mary and Mark are wonderful hosts, great communication. They know the island very well and were very helpful with recommendations and any important info. We loved One Tarbay, beautiful Exuma and the wonderful people. I would highly recommend staying here and will be back again ourselves :)

Stayed at Tarbay with my wife and three daughters.We had emailed Monica,the property Manager,the week before arriving to arrange groceries to be picked up.We were traveling on Sunday,and Monday was a Holiday on the island so the stores would be closed.Monica was kind enough to respond back quickly and confirmed our list was received and she would handle it.Upon our arrival to the house we found the groceries were left on the counter over night and there was chicken and ground beef juice all over the counter.Needless to say not a great start to our vacation.Tuesday morning while getting ready to head out to find another beach we notice rat feces in the pantry closet off the kitchen and a rat trap in the upstairs closet in master bathroom closet.Slightly concern that there might be a rodent problem in the house we contact Monica to advise her and were told that "it is summer time so the wildlife is active",but she would ask Clio to stop on her way home and clean the pantry out, which she did.When we arrived home after being at the beach all day preparing dinner and relaxing on the back deck,my daughter came outside and informed me that the toilets downstairs were not flushing.No worries I thought, boy was I wrong.Not only did the toilets not flush,but the showers down stairs,which no one used yet,were starting to back up and the water was now starting to over flow into one of the bedrooms off the kitchen.We proceeded to empty the room of luggage and clothes,which were now wet,and lay towels across the door entry to see if we could prevent the water from going into the kitchen and living room area.I texted Monica and she responded with, "we are living in a third world country where problems like this do happen", and "we could not find a plumber in New York at 11pm at night and that is a City known for the City that never sleeps".Well it wasn't 11pm when I texted first of all and second, we just wanted some direction on what to do so the house wouldn't get flooded.With that said,she was able to get a hold of a plumber and he did in fact come over that night but he could really do anything but said he would be back in the morning.He shows up in the morning,but no Monica? At first he seemed puzzled,but told me he found the issue,the septic tank was full.He would arrange for pump out and call Monica to have the downstairs cleaned.Once these issues were resolved, we had a lovely stay, but couldn't recommend Tarbay based on the way this was handled.

Beautiful home, incredibly clean and well stocked. Monica (property manager) is easily the most organized, professional and responsive we've ever encountered. Loved the location of this house - not far from the airport or groceries/liquor, but far enough away from everything to feel remote. The beach/water access isn't great, given the proximity of the water during all but low tide, but the elevation and deck make up for it as a great place to sit, listen to the waves, watch the shooting stars and admire the beautiful water, all with a nice breeze. There are plenty of beach access spots in either direction as well. The house is large; we were a total of five and had more than enough room to spread out. Kitchen is well stocked and well organized, and we especially enjoyed the lobster available at the nearby Prime Island Deli and Meats. Both it and Smitty's (both about 7 or 8 minutes away) are great, with good variety and reasonable (relative) prices. In summary would highly recommend the house as a great place to stay on the island.

A wonderful house with beautiful views and a perfect beach to run or walk on. The setting was very private which made you feel you were really away from it all yet close enough to town to enjoy the nightlife. I will definitely be going back!

We rented this property over the holiday season and found it to be the perfect accommodation for our large family. The house is a few minutes away from the airport and just a short drive into town. It overlooks the ocean which has the most beautiful shades of blue you’ll ever see, and the soft white sand is just steps from the back porch. Each bedroom has its own washroom which is nice and there is a washer and dryer available should you need it. The kitchen has huge windows facing the ocean so if you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of the occasional whale and/or other sea creatures passing by. The hosts are happy to connect you with their contacts to ensure that you make the most of your holiday on the island just as we did. 👍🏻👍🏻

I had an extraordinary time staying at One Tar Bay. The beautiful One Tar Bay house was situated quite close to the airport, so the drive was short and sweet (a big plus after a long flight). One Tar Bay is an exquisite property situated comfortably back from the road. The house is furnished in a clean, modern and colourful way, with large windows overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is large and very well equipped with modern appliances as well as a large prep/dining table with lots of bar stools. Large pantry area as well. The bedrooms were cozy well appointed with lovely linens and modern bathrooms. The house is suitable for entertaining as the living room/dining room area is large and spacious, with magnificent views over the ocean. The patio deck outside is wonderful for relaxing with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, while overlooking the ocean as you sit in colourful Adirondack chairs gazing at the coconut trees dotting the white sandy beach. And the colour of the ocean is a deep blue - remarkable. Feels like you're on your own private island... As for entertainment, it was fun taking a water taxi to nearby Stocking Island to have an evening drink at the Chat n Chill bar. You can meet all the locals there, in a laid-back setting. The hiking around the area is also excellent. We discovered Coco Plum Beach, an isolated beach with wonderful craggy rocks around the bay - lots to explore. And the restaurants, while not fancy, provided good home-cooking typical of the islands. We dined on fried lobster at Santana's, a famous local hangout. Shirley's Fish Fry was another fun restaurant offering delicious seafood specialties. All in all, a relaxing, fun holiday at One Tar Bay.

Waking up everyday to one of the most stunning beaches leaves you breathless! This amazing home is wonderfully located right on a beautiful beach! You can easily walk into the water for a swim from the pristine sandy beach. Just below the deck you can greet the sun whilevdoing Yoga, or mediate! Later on you can rest in the hammock or go out into the ocean. The deck is large enough to throw a party or enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars. The rooms are all comfortable sizes and have plenty of storage. The master bedroom, kitchen and living area have a beautiful view of stunning beach! The house has the amenities of home and the kitchen has all the equipment you need if want to stay in. However venture off around the island because there are so many places which serve very good meals and then you can dance the night away! The location of this home allows you to get to town, golf course, restaurants, bars and to other beautiful beaches in several minutes. And not least, the international airport too is only minutes away! This home is well kept and very clean! I have received excellent customer care. We are definitely going back!!

This lovely, spacious beach house is located on a pristine and several kilometers long, white sand beach just a few minutes from the Exuma airport. Mark and Mary are very gracious hosts and knowledgeable about the island. They were extremely helpful in arranging boat tours, and recommending reservations and excursions for us. The house was bright, clean, and very comfortable for our group of seven adults. Each of the four bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom and the kitchen is well supplied for cooking. Thank you Mark and Mary for the memorable week.

Situated right on the water, the views are to die for and the house is located next to one of the best beaches on Great Exuma. The house comfortably fit our group of seven and was located within 10 to 15 minutes drive of shops, restaurants and grocery stores. It is also handy to the airport and some of the better beaches on the island. Would recommend for large groups, as there is a two bedroom apartment on the lower level as well.
